Euro 2016 is now just one day away after Portugal’s 7-0 win over Estonia brought an end to the recent batch of friendlies last night. In the first in a series of two members articles, we focus on some of the most pertinent statistics over each sides’ last four friendlies this calendar year. We begin with a look at the standout performers in defence and also assess a trio of midfielders, with a further three players in the centre of the park set to feature in tomorrow’s follow-up piece.

      I see the appeal of Lewa vs NIR, but I don't think it will be worth it unless you are wildcarding after the first matchday. You could, however, downgrade Pogba to someone and use the funds to beef up the bench, keeping Lewa.

        Lewa vs NIR could more than pay for itself. You can either make 2 transfers at 4 points to downgrade him and upgrade elsewhere or WC before the second round of games which might be one of the best times to WC anyway

      I would honestly downgrade Pogba to Payet or Matuidi. I would argue he's less attacking than them. If you can shave off 1m (as above for example), I think upgrading Rafa Silva would make the team a lot better. Rafa isn't guaranteed to play the final match, nor do we really know if he will produce. Both of those are important for your subs, as you don't want to accidentally put in a non-playing player.

      You definitely can find funds for this by going from a 5.0 to a cheaper defender or by reducing Pogba.

      Otherwise it looks good to me!

      The only other time I think it makes sense to play it would be after the round of 16. The other rounds give you enough free transfers that it shouldn't be necessary

      You're better off picking a player because of them as a player rather than their team. I keep falling into the trap of picking Draxler and Matuidi for the cover, but actually their potential doesn't look that great
