Euro 2016 is now just one day away after Portugal’s 7-0 win over Estonia brought an end to the recent batch of friendlies last night. In the first in a series of two members articles, we focus on some of the most pertinent statistics over each sides’ last four friendlies this calendar year. We begin with a look at the standout performers in defence and also assess a trio of midfielders, with a further three players in the centre of the park set to feature in tomorrow’s follow-up piece.

      Was just watching the original 3 lions, Euro 96 song and this popped up. Was 8 years old and remember my mum buying me the single, even though I'm West Ham, Cantona was my idol.         This is what I have at the min I agree it's ropey but I am trying to fit Lewandowski and Muller in for gw 1 and that limits things .

        It's any amount of manager substitutions between days but it's only one free transfer between gameweeks. You should aim for a strong playable 15 players so you may want to revise your mid subs but looks good as a starting base

          Aha, got it. That makes more sense. So does this lend itself to a different strategy than in the EPL game, where some of us go all-out in the 11 and use the bench as enablers?

            Yes definitely. Spread the wealth. You also don't want too many group F players unless they are absolutely nailed on.They play on the last day and bringing in someone who gets 0 with no chance to sub them out after isn't good planning. Also you should have a player from every day as you can change captaincy until you get it "right" (i.e. a goal or more)

      Kamil Grosicki has made good progress with his ankle, and it is much better. Our winger ran on the race track already today. It is unlikely, in spite of this, that he will play against Northern Ireland. Grosicki, who picked up the injury in the friendly match with Lithuania, has not yet trained with the team still, and that situation will not change before the match on Sunday. The assistant states that there is still pain in the leg, but that most important development, that he has begun to run slowly, does not yet mean, that he is ready for match coaching. Full sprints are still off limits, turns and twists are still too risky, and it is also still too soon for normal match movements and contacts.
