This week we’ve updated our Career Hall of Fame with the final standings from the 2015/16 season. The Hall of Fame is a ranking system, which we apply to everyone who took part in our Fantasy Premier League (FPL) mini-leagues – both the free and the members league. Basically, this tracks the performances of every manager over each of the seasons they have participated and awards a “HoF rating” accordingly – this is viewable to all via this link or the top menu “HoF” link.

If you’re wondering what the Hall of Fame is all about, you can read below for a quick guide. Alternatively, you can view this movie to listen to Mark and Rate My Team’s Chris Atkinson talk you through it.

Career Hall of Fame Top 10

For the third year running Ville Ronke sits at the summit of the Hall of Fame after yet another successful season. His final rank of 1,450 was achieved with just one hit and makes it eight out of eight campaigns with a finish inside the top 5,000. Across his career he also has one top 100 finish and an astonishing three other top 500 rankings. It was not all plain sailing for Ville Ronke in 2015/16, however, having recorded a lowly Gameweek 1 rank of 1,915,969, though he soon turned it around thanks to a Gameweek 3 wildcard that helped ensure he entered the top 500,000 in Gameweek 6. In Gameweek 28 he breached the top 10,000 mark for the first time and never left this elite group thanks to savvy use of chips during the run-in – this featured his second wildcard in Gameweek 33, Bench Boost chip in Gameweek 34 and Triple Captain chip for Gameweek 37.

Marlen Rattiner rises from 15th spot at the end of 2014/15 to take second. His final 2015/16 rank of 1,507 was a fifth top 5,000 finish in an eight-year career that has included three top 1,000 spots. In contrast to Ville, Marlen achieved his stellar final 2015/16 season ranking with a raft of hits – he took 18 across the season, with six occurring in the final five Gameweeks. He was another to use his second wildcard in Gameweek 33, Bench Boost the following Gameweek and save his Triple Captain chip for Gameweek 37.

An excellent 2015/16 rank of 129th spot saw Peter Kouwenberg leap from 60th spot at the end of last term to take third place. Across his ten-season career Peter has six top 10,000 finishes and used his second wildcard, Bench Boost and Triple Captain chips at the same time as Marlen and Ville. He is another who is unafraid to take points hits, opting for a total of 11, including a 12-point hit in Gameweek 9.

Another high flier is Steve Poulsom, who moves from 97th to fourth after clinching 49thspot in 2015/16. His top 50 finish arrives on the back of a stellar 2014/15 campaign, where he ended in 121st position, whilst Steve also has a further two top 10,000 placings under his belt across his seven-year career. During 2015/16 he took 11 points hits and also mirrored the top three’s use of second Wildcard, Bench Boost and Triple Captaincy.

David Meechan take fifth spot and moves up 18 places in the Hall of Fame thanks to a 1,864 finish in 2015/16. Across his illustrious nine-year career he has seven top 10,000 placings, including two in the top 1,000. He also mirrors the top four’s use of second Wildcard, Bench Boost and Triple Captaincy and, as with Steve and Peter, notched 11 points hits. His high finish at the end of last season comes in spite of a disastrous run-in where he recorded four red arrows in a row to fall from 571th place.

In sixth place is Utkarsh Dalmia, another new entry to the top 10 having finished 2014/15 with a HoF rank of 25. Across Utkarsh’s seven seasons he has never finished outside of the top 10,000 and in 2010/11 his final overall ranking was an impressive 17. Yet again he deployed the same second Wildcard, Bench Boost and Triple Captaincy strategy as the top five in a campaign that saw Utkarsh take nine hits.

Rich Morchella takes seventh spot – a rise of 13 places on his HoF rank at the end of the previous campaign. By his standards, a final 2015/16 rank of 4,090 is poor, having already achieved three top 500 finishes in an impressive nine-year career. With a clear pattern forming in chip use, he also mirrors the same second Wildcard, Bench Boost and Triple Captaincy strategy as those above him in the Hall of Fame. In total he recorded 19 points hits during 2015/16 including four double hits and one 12-point hit.

A final 2015/16 rank of 1927 ensured Ray Freeman becomes yet another new entry into the Top 10 Hall of Fame placings as he rises to eighth from 30th the previous season. Over his ten-year career he has three top 1,000 finishes. In contrast to the top seven Ray deployed a different chip strategy, using his Triple Captaincy in Gameweek 34, second Wildcard in Gameweek 36 and Bench Boost in Gameweek 37. This was vital to his successful season as he had an overall rank of just 26,587 in Gameweek 33.

In ninth is Chris Greene, another new entry into the top 10 – he climbs from 44th at the end of last summer thanks to an overall rank of 1489 in 2015/16. Chris was another to deploy his second Wildcard in Gameweek 33, Bench Boost in Gameweek 34 and Triple Captain chip in Gameweek 37 in a season where he took 11 points hits. Across his ten-year career he has recorded an impressive three top 1,000 finishes.

Matthew Jones, known as Numb to the Fantasy Football Scout community, completes the Hall of Fame top ten after moving up from 19th place last time out. In his seven-year career he has six top 10,000 finishes, including twice breaching the top 500. He joins Ray as only the second manager in our top 10 to deploy a different chip strategy during the run in – Matthew also used his Triple Captain chip in Gameweek 34, followed by a wildcard in Gameweek 36 and bench boost in Gameweek 37. He kept points hits to a minimum during 2015/16 using them just five times.

Elsewhere, Evs takes over from Mark as the top ranked FFScout moderator and contributor. Evs moves up to 21st from 95th, while Mark falls from 21st to 50th. Jonty (that’s me) is the second best ranked member of the FFScout team, rising to 33rd from 55th in this latest career HoF update.

Among the former FPL champions last season’s victor Simon March falls from 39th to 63rd, while Matt Martyniak moves from 16th down to 29th.

With only Ville Ronka retaining Top 10 HoF status, last year’s elite suffered some huge falls in this latest HoF update. Triggerlips slumps from second at the end of the previous season to 26th and last year’s third placed Mustafa Bialk falls to 28th spot.

Hall of Fame FAQ

How is my rating calculated?
The “HoF Rating” is based on your points scores from previous FPL seasons, with the latest season weighted the heaviest and each corresponding season weighted at roughly 80% that of the previous season. So, in other words, those who performed best in 2013/14 will receive a bigger HoF Rating boost from those who did best in 2006/07. The “HoF Ranking” even allows for those with missing years, adapting the formula accordingly to allow to rank alongside the veterans of the FPL.

How do I join the Hall of Fame
Simply sign up to our leagues next season, either the Fantasy Football Scout Classic League or if you’re a member, the Members Classic League – the code will available on the dashboard of the Members Area once the FPL game re-opens for registration.

How do I find myself in the Hall of Fame?
The search box at the top of the ranking tables allows you to search by surname or by FPL id.

What if I don’t want to be listed?
Either notify us via support@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk or simply leave the Fantasy Football Scout league and you’ll be removed on the next update.

When does the Hall of Fame get updated?
The Career table is available to all and is updated at the end of each season to display the latest rankings. The Live version of the Hall of Fame is updated every week to use the latest season data.

Why do you think, it's Del Bosque making the decisions and he's a stubborn manager.

It is not a question of our reading of quality, but of the manager. They've shared game time recently, and this suggests that there is doubt.

Strange decisions are made sometimes although I expect DDG to play the first two.

Haven't got any support at all, comeon guys! 😀

So, finally done a team I think is good.

    planning to WC GW3.

THIS IS MY TEAM IF PAYET STARTS:

    Kozacik
    Djourou-Mangala/Rami-Juanfran-Strinic
    Payet-Hamsik*-Perisic
    Giroud*-Ibra*-Muller*

    Patricio-Dragovic-Junozovic-Jao Mario

    *=Captain choice

After France lineups I will see if I will go for Rami or Mangala AND if Payet starts. If he doesn´t I will choose Matuidi instead and upgrade Djourou to Lichsteiner. Sounds like a plan??

Really do support all kinds of tips and smart voices around here!

    Cheers

Cheers guys. Yeah it is exactly on budget. I was playing with Payet, Alaba and Schar for Dier, Ozil and Matuidi but I dont like having so many playing on the last day (4).

Dier, as the 5.0, is still up in the air, and I've considered swapping Strinic for guerreiro as he is more attacking, but it is pretty near to my final set up.

Without baps, am wondering if the ceiling for defenders is so low that the premiums might not be worth it based on CS.

Only the really attacking ones might merit a price above 5.0/5.5m. Thoughts?

    1. djenzio
      • 11 Years
      9 years, 10 months ago

defence is where it is at, especially the more attacking ones.

The problem is that tournament football is so short. Ramos might score at a rate of 1 in 9 for Real and at a rate of 1 in 13 for Spain but he is only playing 7 games max. The premium players are most at risk of being rested too.

I think the money should go to the strikers first. Someone like Ronaldo is capable of a hat-trick against Iceland and scoring more in one game than a premium defender will in 3 or 4.

        1. djenzio
          • 11 Years
          9 years, 10 months ago

Ronaldo won't get a hattie, he has been poor in big tournaments and I was looking at the hat trick stats in previous Euros and only 7 people have ever got one,

Also the premium defenders are more likely to not be dropped, for example Juanfran could easily be rotated for Bellerin, if Remi makes and error he will go but Kosc is more likely to retain starts even if he plays bad,

Ronaldo could get well get a hattrick against an Iceland team who have been terrible defensively lately or against an average Hungary side.

Those hattrick stats will change quickly with the expansion of the tournament.

Defender goals are very random, good point. I think the assists guys might be the way to take risks.

      Agree

Rodriguez (6.0) - since he is attacking and on set pieces
Juanfran (5.5) - cheapest route into Spain with limited attack threat
Rami (5.0) - cheapest route to France with potential for clean sheets
Dier (5.0) - cheapest route into England defence with a slightly OOP bonus about him
Ciman/ Strinic (4.0) - Backup with Ciman having good fixtures (kind of)

25.5 for all that is good value imo

        9 years, 10 months ago

Rami could easily loose his place

Juanfran has Bellerin breathing down his neck

        Cian/Strinic both risky.

Dier does have an OOP status, but he sits very deep and I can't see any CS from England

Yeah I like those picks alot.

Schar really stands out for me too as he has a substantial attacking threat. Giaccherini could be a good OOP (Esp after the Belgium game) and I think Guerreiro will get the nod in a very defensively sound Portuguese set up.

Just to confirm, can you change formation between game days? For example your defender blanks, can you replace him with a midfielder or striker if it makes another valid formation? So if i start with 3-4-3 i don't have to finish that match day with that formation necessarily?

Daft question but someone's gotta ask it.

This whole bench business. I get that in this, the bench should really be filled with players playing on later days.

By that logic, should I hypothetically be starting, say, Strinic ahead of Nolito? Something just doesn't feel right about that, but it's probably just my FPLism sneaking in...

Or have I missed something completely?

it doesn't matter if your best players are benched if they play later on in the gameweek as all you have to do is substitute them in for your lowest scoring players,

thats what i thought, as it stands i am starting the week 3-5-2 with spanish defender and striker on the bench to come in for my lowest scorers

Cheers. There's still a risk element though, because Strinic (who I wouldn't intend on starting ahead of Nolito in any normal game week) could get sent off, and therefore I wouldn't be able to sub Nolito in for him. Right?

So it's better to get Strinic in the competion for the 4,0 defender as he won't lose points like Guerreiro if he were not to play. Strinic may be substituted before kickoff

Strinic is LB, Vrsaljko is RB but the croatian coach rates him. No one gives you an answer, but considering Strinic was playing lately I would pick him and probably do that as Croatia plays early and you will know before the game if he plays.

I think A but I'd downgrade Mak to a 5.5 and upgrade Denayer to a 5.0 as I've doubts about his playing time and Belgium's defence. If not maybe Hinteregger for 4.5?

I'd say 90% for both. Gotze likely to play up top and if not I think he could displace Draxler on the left. Juanfran, by virtue of being in the squad instead of Bellerin and because of his experience, seems very likely to start.

You can sub more than 1 per day. Having more on the last day just limits your options a little because then you are stuck with then.

It's really not that hard to understand.
An unlimited number of manager substitutions can be made, although it is not possible to make them after games on the last day of the matchday as all fixtures will have been completed.
