This week we’ve updated our Career Hall of Fame with the final standings from the 2015/16 season. The Hall of Fame is a ranking system, which we apply to everyone who took part in our Fantasy Premier League (FPL) mini-leagues – both the free and the members league. Basically, this tracks the performances of every manager over each of the seasons they have participated and awards a “HoF rating” accordingly – this is viewable to all via this link or the top menu “HoF” link.

If you’re wondering what the Hall of Fame is all about, you can read below for a quick guide. Alternatively, you can view this movie to listen to Mark and Rate My Team’s Chris Atkinson talk you through it.

Career Hall of Fame Top 10

For the third year running Ville Ronke sits at the summit of the Hall of Fame after yet another successful season. His final rank of 1,450 was achieved with just one hit and makes it eight out of eight campaigns with a finish inside the top 5,000. Across his career he also has one top 100 finish and an astonishing three other top 500 rankings. It was not all plain sailing for Ville Ronke in 2015/16, however, having recorded a lowly Gameweek 1 rank of 1,915,969, though he soon turned it around thanks to a Gameweek 3 wildcard that helped ensure he entered the top 500,000 in Gameweek 6. In Gameweek 28 he breached the top 10,000 mark for the first time and never left this elite group thanks to savvy use of chips during the run-in – this featured his second wildcard in Gameweek 33, Bench Boost chip in Gameweek 34 and Triple Captain chip for Gameweek 37.

Marlen Rattiner rises from 15th spot at the end of 2014/15 to take second. His final 2015/16 rank of 1,507 was a fifth top 5,000 finish in an eight-year career that has included three top 1,000 spots. In contrast to Ville, Marlen achieved his stellar final 2015/16 season ranking with a raft of hits – he took 18 across the season, with six occurring in the final five Gameweeks. He was another to use his second wildcard in Gameweek 33, Bench Boost the following Gameweek and save his Triple Captain chip for Gameweek 37.

An excellent 2015/16 rank of 129th spot saw Peter Kouwenberg leap from 60th spot at the end of last term to take third place. Across his ten-season career Peter has six top 10,000 finishes and used his second wildcard, Bench Boost and Triple Captain chips at the same time as Marlen and Ville. He is another who is unafraid to take points hits, opting for a total of 11, including a 12-point hit in Gameweek 9.

Another high flier is Steve Poulsom, who moves from 97th to fourth after clinching 49thspot in 2015/16. His top 50 finish arrives on the back of a stellar 2014/15 campaign, where he ended in 121st position, whilst Steve also has a further two top 10,000 placings under his belt across his seven-year career. During 2015/16 he took 11 points hits and also mirrored the top three’s use of second Wildcard, Bench Boost and Triple Captaincy.

David Meechan take fifth spot and moves up 18 places in the Hall of Fame thanks to a 1,864 finish in 2015/16. Across his illustrious nine-year career he has seven top 10,000 placings, including two in the top 1,000. He also mirrors the top four’s use of second Wildcard, Bench Boost and Triple Captaincy and, as with Steve and Peter, notched 11 points hits. His high finish at the end of last season comes in spite of a disastrous run-in where he recorded four red arrows in a row to fall from 571th place.

In sixth place is Utkarsh Dalmia, another new entry to the top 10 having finished 2014/15 with a HoF rank of 25. Across Utkarsh’s seven seasons he has never finished outside of the top 10,000 and in 2010/11 his final overall ranking was an impressive 17. Yet again he deployed the same second Wildcard, Bench Boost and Triple Captaincy strategy as the top five in a campaign that saw Utkarsh take nine hits.

Rich Morchella takes seventh spot – a rise of 13 places on his HoF rank at the end of the previous campaign. By his standards, a final 2015/16 rank of 4,090 is poor, having already achieved three top 500 finishes in an impressive nine-year career. With a clear pattern forming in chip use, he also mirrors the same second Wildcard, Bench Boost and Triple Captaincy strategy as those above him in the Hall of Fame. In total he recorded 19 points hits during 2015/16 including four double hits and one 12-point hit.

A final 2015/16 rank of 1927 ensured Ray Freeman becomes yet another new entry into the Top 10 Hall of Fame placings as he rises to eighth from 30th the previous season. Over his ten-year career he has three top 1,000 finishes. In contrast to the top seven Ray deployed a different chip strategy, using his Triple Captaincy in Gameweek 34, second Wildcard in Gameweek 36 and Bench Boost in Gameweek 37. This was vital to his successful season as he had an overall rank of just 26,587 in Gameweek 33.

In ninth is Chris Greene, another new entry into the top 10 – he climbs from 44th at the end of last summer thanks to an overall rank of 1489 in 2015/16. Chris was another to deploy his second Wildcard in Gameweek 33, Bench Boost in Gameweek 34 and Triple Captain chip in Gameweek 37 in a season where he took 11 points hits. Across his ten-year career he has recorded an impressive three top 1,000 finishes.

Matthew Jones, known as Numb to the Fantasy Football Scout community, completes the Hall of Fame top ten after moving up from 19th place last time out. In his seven-year career he has six top 10,000 finishes, including twice breaching the top 500. He joins Ray as only the second manager in our top 10 to deploy a different chip strategy during the run in – Matthew also used his Triple Captain chip in Gameweek 34, followed by a wildcard in Gameweek 36 and bench boost in Gameweek 37. He kept points hits to a minimum during 2015/16 using them just five times.

Elsewhere, Evs takes over from Mark as the top ranked FFScout moderator and contributor. Evs moves up to 21st from 95th, while Mark falls from 21st to 50th. Jonty (that’s me) is the second best ranked member of the FFScout team, rising to 33rd from 55th in this latest career HoF update.

Among the former FPL champions last season’s victor Simon March falls from 39th to 63rd, while Matt Martyniak moves from 16th down to 29th.

With only Ville Ronka retaining Top 10 HoF status, last year’s elite suffered some huge falls in this latest HoF update. Triggerlips slumps from second at the end of the previous season to 26th and last year’s third placed Mustafa Bialk falls to 28th spot.

Hall of Fame FAQ

How is my rating calculated?
The “HoF Rating” is based on your points scores from previous FPL seasons, with the latest season weighted the heaviest and each corresponding season weighted at roughly 80% that of the previous season. So, in other words, those who performed best in 2013/14 will receive a bigger HoF Rating boost from those who did best in 2006/07. The “HoF Ranking” even allows for those with missing years, adapting the formula accordingly to allow to rank alongside the veterans of the FPL.

How do I join the Hall of Fame
Simply sign up to our leagues next season, either the Fantasy Football Scout Classic League or if you’re a member, the Members Classic League – the code will available on the dashboard of the Members Area once the FPL game re-opens for registration.

How do I find myself in the Hall of Fame?
The search box at the top of the ranking tables allows you to search by surname or by FPL id.

What if I don’t want to be listed?
Either notify us via support@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk or simply leave the Fantasy Football Scout league and you’ll be removed on the next update.

When does the Hall of Fame get updated?
The Career table is available to all and is updated at the end of each season to display the latest rankings. The Live version of the Hall of Fame is updated every week to use the latest season data.

Currently have Alba, Juanfran & Rami with 10.0 to spend on my last two spots. Should I:

    a) Cover with two 5.0s - probably Dier & Howedes/Giacherrini
    b) Partner a 5.5/6.0 with a 4.0 - probably Hector & Strinic

This was what one Portuguese supporter explained too, that unfortunately Guerreiro only started the matches in which either Portugal played the bench, or Eliseu was rested not benched.

And he played good although not so attacking maybe like Guerreiro.
It is/was Eliseu's place to lose imo, but we never know if it happend yet

where he didn't cover himself with glory.. if you have budget, go for Pepe but Guerreiro is an explosive option if he starts

This is my rationale, too, for Guerreiro starting: he's been impressive, Eliseu not so.

Any chance that they'd double up, Eliseu LB, Guerreiro LW? The LW position seems to be a bit up for grabs anyway.

Now I'm dreaming of course, a 4.0 defender on set pieces and playing OOP on Ronaldo's side... Fantasy platinum.

And the buzz of subbing in a 4.0 non-confirmed starter on the final day to save your team will add to the excitement of the game. Fairytale-maker.

    Thoughts on this squad?

    Sommer - (Patricio)
    Hector - Koscielny - Ramos - (Lindelöf) - (Strinic)
Alaba - Payet - Perišić - Özil - (Renato Sanches)
    Müller - Ronaldo - Nolito

Any other suggestions? Possibly Lewandowski, maybe a Slovakian midfielder, or Rami if he starts? Unsure on Nolito.

I've found it quite fun just doing some small accumulators of Team Top Goalscorers.. Some real good value imo - Hamsik (9/2), Giroud (3/1), Shaqiri (5/1), Dzsudzsak (7/1)

    3. George Sillett

This probably isn't fun but it what I have done.
I have taken a look at BET365 Euro markets and have come up with the following:-
      To win outright:-
      France 3/1
      Germany 4/1
      Spain 5/1

IMO these are the only 3 teams that can win this thing
This gives combined odds of approximately 3/5 for any one of these to win which is no value in my book.
      However:-
      For a Germany / Spain final 11/1
      France/Spain final 12/1
      France/Germany final 14/1
      And now the anomaly
      France/Germany Straight forecast 16/1
      Germany/France Straight forecast 16/1
Using the anomaly to our advantage

For the more risk averse covering all these options using staking percentages of Germany/Spain 38% , France/Spain 35% and both Germany/France SF and France/Germany SF 13.5% gives combined odds of 3.56/1

Assuming that all teams win their groups then France/Germany cannot happen and so if you wish to be more of a gambler comined odds of France/Spain and Germany/Spain 5.24/1

    Right lets try this again...

    Sommer Patricio
    Hector Koscielny Rodriguez Denayer Sævarsson
Alaba Hazard De Bruyne Alli Payet
    Janko Shaqiri Long

What do you think? I'm happy with the midfielders and the forwards but I'm keen to know if you think there are better 4.5/5.0 priced defenders than Denayer or Sævarsson?

Looks strong but better strikers out there imo

I'm happy with them, considering upgrading Shaqiri to Morata?

Decent enough, Rafa Silva is unlikely to play. If you just want fodder I'd go for Renato Sanches as he look threatening when he comes on. His energy makes him nailed as a substitute imo

I still think Rooney's being overlooked on here. I've a funny feeling he light up this England team from the word go.

So the captain is set for each round of matches/first games for each side? Not each day? Also, will Juanfran play for 90mins?

Which european club will have most players playing in the quarter finals of the euro?

I'm certainly learning a lot about european flags.

I bloody hate how they don't say who your players play for! Similar with FIFA not showing the player's names...
