After rolling out the first instalment of our two-part series of members’ articles covering the last four friendlies, we cast an eye over another batch of standout performers. The Belgium and France midfields come under analysis after some stellar recent displays, whilst we also assess a number of in-form forwards ahead of tonight’s opening match of Euro 2016.

I like C, but maybe that's too much Portugal, they play on the last day so it's risky

You know Alli is reliable, while Hakan is a punt for me.

Alli belongs to a better team though against an injured Russian midfield and defence. Hakan plays against Croatia and Spain and also 1 point more expensive. I also have Kane so tough choice.

    Patricio / Kozacik

    Djourou / Rami / Howedes / Dragovich / Guerreiro

    Mak / Matuidi / Ozil / Perisic / 4.5 not playing

    Tonight - Giroud

    Patricio/Akinfeev
    Howedes/Juanfran/Rami/Denayer/Darmian
    Gotze/Perisic/Konoplyanka/Alli/Stanciu
    Muller/Ronaldo/Nolito

Also, am I right in thinking I could make Stanciu/Rami captain tonight then change to Muller/Ronaldo at a later date?

    D.Mertens v ITA & IRE

Torn but think I will gamble on cheapies to finance Ronaldo over Morata. Means I also lose KDB and Ozil.

    Kozacik - Rui Patricio

    Juanfran - Rami - Strinic - Guerreiro - Lindelof

    Draxler - Payet - Dzemaili - Hazard - Perisic

    Giroud - Muller - Ronaldo

    Madness or bravery?

    RMT please anyone?

    Patricio (Kozacik)
    Hector, Rami, Lichtsteiner (Denayer, Strinic)
De Bruyne Pogba, Alli, Wilshere (Forsberg)
    Ronaldo, Müller, Vardy

I'm convinced Ronaldo will score a few but the midfield is a bit weak. I think Roy will start Wilshere if possible but is there better than him for 6.0?

I could swap Ronaldo for Giroud to upgrade but I don't really rate Giroud. Any better ideas?

Hi all , at the last moment have decided to give the Euro 16 a try:). As a complete newbie , Id like to ask I know that one can change their captain every matchday, does that mean that only one captain stays with you as your highest (hopefully) scoring teammate until the round of 16? Also can someone give advice on a viable wc strategy? Can you WC at any point? So for example hypothetically england and belgium might have great fixtures their first round of fixtures and then awful ones so load up on their playes and then WC before the next round of fixtures? Or can you wildcard during a round of fixtures as well? Thanks 🙂

I know... Pros: He had a good season, on form, will play, good group, cheap (6m). Cons: Not central to attack for not a very attacking team.

Would you do Kosc > Rami/Mangala, Rodriguez > Djorou, Hector > Howedes, AND Quaresma > 8.5m (Kane?). Or straight swap with Milik?

  21. Lucy.

    Hector, Schar, Guerreiro (5.5, 5.5, 4.0)
    or
    Howedes, Giaccherini, Dier (5.0, 5.0, 5.0)

(to go with Juanfran and Rami)

A is more fun as it has an assist threat , goal threat , and a goal and assist threat but B is more safe. Comes down to what kind of Fantasy player you are. 🙂

Anyone fancy this as a betting strategy?

I have taken a look at BET365 Euro markets and have come up with the following:-
    To win outright:-
    France 3/1
    Germany 4/1
    Spain 5/1

IMO these are the only 3 teams that can win this thing
This gives combined odds of approximately 3/5 for any one of these to win which is no value in my book.
    However:-
    For a Germany / Spain final 11/1
    France/Spain final 12/1
    France/Germany final 14/1
    And now the anomaly
    France/Germany Straight forecast 16/1
    Germany/France Straight forecast 16/1
Using the anomaly to our advantage

For the more risk averse covering all these options using staking percentages of Germany/Spain 38% , France/Spain 35% and both Germany/France SF and France/Germany SF 13.5% gives combined odds of 3.56/1

Assuming that all teams win their groups then France/Germany cannot happen and so if you wish to be more of a gambler combined odds of France/Spain and Germany/Spain 5.24/1

My gambling is very occasional and very simple so this goes over my head from a betting perspective but the maths looks good 🙂

I guess the enhanced odds you're manufacturing are basically because you're ruling out the possibility of any other team even reaching the final.

    Quick poll :

    A/ Stanciu (FRA, SUI)
    B/ Alaba (HUN, POR)
    C/ Junuzovic (HUN, POR)

    My current team :
    Sommer Rui Patricio
    Hector Rami Rodriguez Juanfran Dier
    Özil Payet Perisic Fabregas Stanciu
    Müller Giroud Nolito

I have 2M to spend somewhere and was thinking of upgrading Stanciu.

    Anything else I might consider?

Been scratching my head over this team for a while now - any thoughts?

    Sommer (Kozacik)
    Rami Hector Juanfran (Strinic Guerreiro)
    Payet Alli Perisic Junuzovic (Fabregas)
    Giroud Muller Ronaldo

I refuse to make a team without Ronaldo as I can see him bracing at least once against Iceland and Hungary. I'm worried that my 4th and 5th defenders may not get any game time between them, and my midfield (namely Junuz and Fab) are quite weak...
