Sunday’s evening kick-off finds Northern Ireland start their Euro 16 campaign with a tough opening clash with free-scoring Poland.

Michael O’Neill’s men arrive in France with an enviable record, surely taking confidence from a run of 12 matches without defeat. Indeed, their defence has earned four clean sheets in the last five, offering encouragement ahead of a meeting with a fearsome Polish attack.

In Robert Lewandowski, the Poles have the leading goalscorer during qualifying with 13 strikes. That tally helped Poland to 33 goals in all – more than any other qualifying nation. A total of 14 goals in six friendly matches heading into the tournament would suggest that Adam Nawałka’s unit have the form to earn victory in this opener, although they’ve failed to win their last two outings, slipping to a 2-1 defeat to Netherlands before being held by Lithuania.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Time for the last 2 match ups on my first of 2 gw1 accus.
Saved by Russias late goal last night as I had +1.5 goals on that one.

Need Poland and Germany to win.
    Lets do this.

Looking good. Though if anyone is gonna let you down I'd say it would be Germany. I don't expect them to though, but it would be a sick feeling having your last team let you down.

I'm confused to how substitutes work. Am I right in thinking that every player has to be in your starting 11 of that day in order to gain points, and if they are on your bench they will not get any points.

Also after your player has earned their points for the day, once subbing them to the bench they do not lose their points?

Please help me with how substitutes work in McDonald's fantasy football as I'm very confused thanks!

Subbing = losing points. Only the final 11 after the Portugal game count.

Yes x 2 for the first paragraph.

Any player you send to the bench loses his points.

Those who are planning to WC after MD2, are you thinking of taking out Spainish and French players - they have tougher last group fixtures. I think the price change occurs after group stages. In that case isn't it a worry that those players taken out will have their prices increased ( in case we are only allowed to restructure the team after the price change ) before being brought in back ?

    1. VS10_
      • 10 Years
      10 years, 9 days ago

Based on yesterday's Swiss defence, France will score more than against Romania. I don't think you can plan for the price rises because no one knows how soon after group stage ends they'll happen and what kind of rises there are.
