Sunday’s matches begin with the opening Group D fixture, as Turkey take on Croatia in what, on paper, looks a well-matched encounter.
Despite failing to impress in qualifying, Turkey head into the tournament in fine fettle, winning four of their last five friendly encounters – the recent defeat to England the only blot on their copybook. Indeed, Fatih Terim’s unit are also undefeated in eight competitive matches.
Croatia will be favourites for this afternoon’s clash, however. Ante Cacic’s men are bristling with proven talent and have won six of their last seven outings, including the recent 10-0 drubbing of San Marino just over a week ago.
