With four Premier League sides – Crystal Palace, Liverpool, Swansea and West Brom – all in action over the next few hours, we roll out a first re-cap of the summer fixtures to date this evening.

Listed below is a match by match breakdown of all the encounters so far, with details of goals, assists and line-ups.

We’ll be publishing a round-up of the latest results tomorrow, while all the pre-season scores, scout notes and form players are being captured and collated in our Pre-Season Section.

Carolina RailHawks 2 West Ham 2

The Hammers’ brief American tour ended in the early hours of this morning with no wins, a couple of goals and a 40-minute bad weather delay as their sights now turn to their UEFA Europa League third qualifying round first leg on July 28.

Skipper Winston Reid (who managed a goal at both ends of the pitch) was teed up for the Hammers’ first by Andy Carroll before the big Geordie put his side ahead thanks to a cross from new wide man Sofiane Feghouli.

Slaven Bilic rang the changes, with nine players swapped from the 46th minute onwards, and the lack of continuity, hot and humid conditions and the threat of further thunderstorms conspired to produce a second-half of little quality or incident – on the pitch, at least.

Although Sam Byram started both matches at right-back, it’s worth noting that Michail Antonio did not fly out for the US tour due to the recent birth of his child.

West Ham XI: Adrian (Spiegel 46), Byram (Makasi 63), Reid (Henry 63), Burke (Rice 63), Cresswell (Page 46), Obiang (Poyet 63), Noble, Feghouli (Quina 63), Samuelsen, Lanzini (Browne 63), Carroll (Martinez 46).

Seattle Sounders 3 West Ham 0

Slaven Bilic used no fewer than 21 players to start the club’s two-match tour of America on July 5, handing debuts to new signings Sofiane Feghouli and Havard Nordtveit, as well as youngsters Antonio Martinez and Domingos Quina.

Former Valencia star Feghouli caught the eye and quickly formed a partnership with another summer signing (from the same Spanish club), Toni Martinez, when the pair came on at half-time. The latter is expected to be eased into English football through the Hammers’ development squad.

In addition to the above-mentioned Antonio, Bilic is having to make do without star midfielder Dmitri Payet and defenders James Collins and Angelo Ogbonna as the trio rest up after their Euro 2016 campaigns. A fourth international, Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Darren Randolph, is likely to leave the club in search of regular first team football, whilst rumoured Sunderland target, Diafra Sakho, stayed behind in London due to a back problem.

West Ham XI: Adrian (Spiegel 46), Byram (Feghouli 46), Page, (Cresswell 46), Reid (Henry 46), Rice (Burke 46), Poyet (Nordtveit 46), Noble (Obiang 46), Browne (Quina 46), Samuelsen (Lanzini 46), Makasi, Carroll (Martinez 46).

Tranmere Rovers 0 Liverpool 1

A second-half strike from Danny Ings earned Liverpool victory in the first of a busy pre-season campaign which will also take in trips to America and Germany.

In a match that took place last Friday, Ings captained a completely changed second-half Liverpool line-up, firing home after good work from Academy player Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Coach Jurgen Klopp handed debuts to new signings Sadio Mane, Joel Matip and Loris Karius in the first period and had to delve deep into the club’s playing resources as a dozen internationals are yet to return to training following Euro 2016 duties.

Liverpool XI: First half: Karius; Flanagan, Matip, Lovren, Smith; Lucas, Brannagan, Ejaria; Kent, Mane, Firmino.

Liverpool XI: Second half: Bogdan, Randall, Ilori, Wisdom, Moreno; Stewart, Chirivella, Alexander-Arnold; Markovic, Woodburn, Ings.

York City 0 Middlesbrough 6

Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka was another to field 22 players as his newly-promoted side swept aside York City last Saturday.

Karanka was without new signings Victor Valdes, Bernardo Espinosa and Viktor Fischer and promotion winners Ben Gibson and Grant Leadbitter, but he will have been encouraged by the second-half performance of January capture Jordan Rhodes, who hit two goals in a lively showing.

David Nugent and Adam Reach supplied a goal and assist apiece, whilst wide man Albert Adomah also managed to get his name on the scoresheet.

Middlesbrough XI: First half: Mejias, Nsue, Baptiste, Morris, Husband (Friend 27), Pattisom, Forshaw, Adomah, De Sart, De Pena, Nugent.

Middlesbrough XI: Second half: Konstantopoulos, Halliday, Jackson, McGhee, Friend, Clayton, de Roon, Carayol, Downing, Reach, Rhodes.

Woking 1 Watford 1

New Watford boss Walter Mazzarro tried out a 3-5-2 formation for the Hornets’ first friendly of pre-season on Sunday, shifting to a flat back-four just after the hour mark.

Dutch winger Steven Berghuis opened the scoring midway through the first-half with a deflected strike (courtesy of an Ikechi Anya assist) as Mazzarro tinkered with both formation and personnel, giving new signings Abdoulaye Doucoure, Jerome Sinclair and Isaac Success debuts after the break.

One notable absentee was club captain Troy Deeney, who was left out as a precaution after sustaining a slight knock in training, while Almen Abdi wasn’t involved due to sickness.

Watford XI: Gomes (Arlauskis, HT); Nyom, Britos (Rowan, 85), Hoban (Success, 67); Amrabat (Holebas, 59), Capoue (Guedioura, HT), Suarez (Watson, HT), Berghuis (Doucoure, HT), Anya; Ighalo (Sinclair, HT), Vydra (Oulare, HT).

I am assuming many blind people use it unless there are special watches/clocks.

    Liverpool v Fleetwood match report

Liverpool 1st half team (4-2-3-1): Karius; Flanagan, Matip, Lovren, Moreno; Markovic, Stewart, Grujic, Alexander-Arnold, Mane; Ings

10’’ Markovic with a cross-shot that is saved.
12’’ Penalty for Liverpool as Grujic is fouled in the area.
13’’ Danny Ings has his penalty saved. ⛔
18’’ Good work from Markovic as he manages to set up Mane, whose shot is blocked .
19’’ Mane slips the ball to Moreno on the overlap who drives the ball back across the box. It finds its way to Grujic who shoots and with the help of a small deflection results in the first goal of the match. ⚽
22’’ Grujic works his way through a few players in the box but the ball looks like it’s going out. Wrong! Grujic hits a shot from a tight angle that cracks the post and goes out of play.
25’’ Moreno floats a nice ball to the back post from. Lovren heads it and the shot is parried out for a corner.
34’’ Mane feeds a ball through to Alexander-Arnold who takes a shot that’s saved.
36’’ Lovren is fouled on the edge of the box and decides to take the freekick himself. Klopp shouts over and Lovren walks away for Moreno to take it who then hits the wall.
40’’ Alexander-Arnold picks out Grujic on the edge of the area who cracks a shot and forces the Fleetwood keeper to make a save.
45’’ Marko Grujic hobbles back as the HT whistle sounds. Could have picked up a knock but looks okay. ☠

Liverpool 2nd half team (4-2-3-1): Bogdan; Randall, Wisdom, Ilori, Smith; Lucas, Brannagan, Ejaria, Kent, Woodburn; Firmino

52’’ Lucas slips a great ball to Ryan Kent who makes a great run and unselfishly passes across the box to Woodburn who slots home camly. ⚽
56’’ Ryan Kent takes a shot for himself this time as he cuts inside from the right. Shot saved.
57’’ Kent feeds the ball to Woodburn again on the left who cuts inside and takes a shot, forcing a save from the Fleetwood goalkeeper.
62’’ Liverpool are forced to make their first save of the game with Bogdan deadening a strong shot. ♜
67’’ Ejaria sets up Brannagan who gets a shot away but doesn’t trouble the keeper.
69’’ Firmino passes to Kent who knocks the ball into the penalty area where Lucas is arriving and slots home Liverpool’s third goal. ⚽
70’’ Ejaria plays an excellent pass to Woodburn who makes a run into the box. He can’t control the ball as the Fleetwood keeper comes out and it finds its way to Firmino on the edge of the box who puts the ball in the back of the net. ⚽
76’’ Randall takes a nice low shot but it is saved with ease.
86’’ Bogdan makes his second save of the match as a tame header comes towards him. ♜
86’’ Down the other end, Liverpool break and Kent gets yet another shot on target, but is saved.
91’’ Lucas with a fantastic long ball that finds Woodburn. With a beautiful touch he controls ot and squares it to Firmino who taps it in from about a yard out. ⚽

    Notes
    - A lot of link up play between Mane and Moreno on the left wing.
    - Firmino worked well as a false 9 in the 2nd half. Made great decisions, fitness could be questioned though.
    - Liverpool’s youngsters were outstanding - particularly Kent, Ejaria, Woodburn, Randall and Brannigan.

⭐players: Moreno, Mane, Grujic, Kent, Woodburn.

My friend bought an L shaped sofa from the 1st or 2nd season of Big Brother. I think he paid 6 grand as an "investment " lol.

A stray cat piissed on it anyway so that was that.

He then proceeded to dip his own cat's paws in paint and pressed the cats paws all over it to try and blag a false insurance claim. It worked and he ended up quids up.

The person who takes the money gets to stay in the show but will obviously be disliked. The money comes out of the 100k prize fund. Should be a good watch.

How much would Ighalo and Deeney this cost this season approximately according to you
I really fancy Deeney at some point this season
Vardy esque finish to last season could tale this season by storm and he's not just a scorer but a creator too
A price of around 7.5 initially would be great
Can totally see it falling to 7.3 by the time their fixtures ease up

Using FFF just to look at some 'cheap' strikers to go alongside Kun and Ibra.

Defoe and Bojan for 6.0 and 5.5 could be shrewd.

They claim 97% accuracy or something.

Defoe for 6.0 would be perfect IMO.

How can they claim 97% accuracy when the results aren't available yet? If it's based on the amount of guesses that they so far have got wrong, then they should be able to claim 100% - because no-one can prove otherwise. But they've gone for 97% - which, as far as I'm concerned, is 3% worse than anyone else's worst guess.

            Hi Dean,

Thanks for your email and interest in Ultimate Fantasy Premier League (UFPL).

We can confirm that the Ultimate game will not be running during the 2016/17 season. As part of a major overhaul of the Premier League’s digital properties, we’re focused on rebuilding and improving the free to play Fantasy Premier League game in advance of the new season. So while UFPL may return in the future, it will not be available this August.

            Kind regards,

Took a break from FPL last season due to a busy schedule but it's just great to be back. The FPL community and especially the FFS one are an awesome bunch, thanks to everyone for making my soon to be college life a lot more interesting!

Still mixing it up, earlies, mids (am on tonight finish at 12) and nights.

Back on nights full time as soon as I hire everyone. 2/3 of the way there. My day shift move has been given a no fixed date so looking like october/november now probably.

Think they'll struggle, badly need a striker. I think Watford will have a battle to stay up too, especially given their start. If Ighalo and Deeney go through a lean spell they'll really toil.

Odds are so big for golf tournaments purely because of the field and the number of weather factors.

Imagine a horse race with 80 runners? You wouldn't get an odds on favourite!

Spieth @ 12s and Willett @ 55s are both great shouts tbh.

I fancy Lowry @ 50s. Might do him and Willett ew. Westwood @ 45s is worth an ew bang too.

unlikely, Sterling played false 9 a fair bit and wasn't reclassified.

Yeah but he moved to a club where he was clearly going to play midfield. Firmino is staying at pool and if they get rid of Benteke, that's fewer strikers with Firmino likely to play false 9 some more. I'm not disagreeing or saying it's going to happen, I'm just highlighting why alot of people are concerned he'll be changed to a striker

Played more as either a CF or SS than he did in any mid positions last season. Could happen.
