Up next in our series of members’ articles, which review the numbers behind the 2015/16 season, are Tottenham.

We kick start our analysis by assessing the north London outfit’s team statistics in Mauricio Pochettino’s second season in charge and compare them to the rest of the Premier League. After that, we then take a close look at their first-team squad, main goal threats and creative sources with one eye on the season kick-off in just three weeks’ time.

Pochettino’s side finished third last time around, 11 points behind champions Leicester and one point behind north London rivals Arsenal.

That fails to tell the full story, though, as Spurs were still in with a chance of winning the title right up until their Gameweek 36 trip to Chelsea, where a 2-2 draw at the Bridge, which saw the visitors pick up nine yellow cards, handed the crown to Claudio Ranieri’s men.

Subsequent losses to Southampton and relegated Newcastle – a 5-1 hammering at St James’ – meant their season ended in bitter disappointment, with the Gunners climbing above them to clinch the runners-up slot on the final day of 2015/16.

I haven't tinkered in a while. Haven't bothered logging on. Just think there isn't enough information about teams yet. Anyone else feel the same way?

          All good here, yourself?

Although I completely agree with you about not having enough info, I feel we still won't have as much as we would like come the start of the season. Lots of new managers this year etc etc

Exactly. Wildcard going to be crucial unless you get lucky. Hence punt a little.

I really like the look of that, except I would like to be able to upgrade that 4.0 at the back to a 4.5 just for that extra bit of choice/depth, and there is far more value up front at 6.5 than at 6. Not sure where the money would come from though. Maybe downgrading Alli to one of the strong 7.5 crowd?

Would love some advice about my main dilemma.

    A) Hazard and Lukaku, or
    B) Ayew/Fabregas and Ibrahimovic

    Points in favour of A:
    - Hazard looks like he's going to be great value, underpriced after last year, got faith in him to rediscover his form
    - Similarly, Lukaku scored 18 goals last year which is a great return and Everton have good fixtures
    - Ayew is not in the same league as the other players and Fabregas isn't a goalscorer/might not be playing advanced
    - There is at least some uncertainty over Ibra due to his age etc.

    Points in favour of B:
    - Ibra seems very likely to score a bucket of goals, Utd have good fixtures, and he's a great captaincy option
    - Ayew/Fab could be great value at 7.5
    - Hazard might get fewer goals for himself if Chelsea are playing 2 up top
    - Lukaku is Lukaku

I currently have B; Ibra is swinging it. Feels silly though because both the options in A are strong. Any thoughts?

He was unfit at the beginning of last season, but in his last 13 league games he scored like 7 goals and 5 assist iirc - not too bad. I think that everything is about to improve in Chelsea this season and Costa is just underpriced, for example I can't see Ibra outscoring him enough to justify the 2.0 difference.

Too much uncertanity about Michy imo - both about his playing time and how he will adapt here. I just dont want to take any unnecessary gambles at the start, but he is the one to watch for sure.

think alot are waiting/hoping for benteke to go
palace would play to his strenghts like villa did, but we didnt as klopp didnt fancy him, but with the likes of townsend bolassie zaha
      benteke could have a decent season{thats my thinking and will have him if he goes !}

think he still got 9-10 goals in league with little gametime for us, record at poor villa was good to, defo one i will be waiting on

One to monitor and I'm not a fan but Wickham got like 4 in 2 before he got inj last season and was talked up big by pardew so I may get him over Townsend if he plays pre-season

I feel like the 9.5m Midfield spots are the most crucial to have, some very good fantasy assets in that bracket!

Going to try to start with two of them or at least above them in order to jump on the right one if (when) i get it wrong initially.

Same thinking, I have two myself (Mahrez and Mkhi currently). It's so much easier to go down as well as find that extra bit in case Hazard, KdB and/or Sanchez start well. Wouldn't need a lot of transfers

Mahrez is priced low for what you get. Hazard came to the league at 9m, mhki not proved. I passed on Mahrez at first, thinking he wouldn't repeat last season but unless he mopes or leaves he is central to every goal Leicester might score. He should be 10-11m.

    PLEASE HELP

This is important, and I really need some advice.
I'm able to log in without any issues, but a number of my friends are not able. We have tried rejoining with a new account without any luck. We do not recieve an email from fantasy premier league, therefore we are unable to confirm.
We have tried the 'safe sender' advice I read on here yesterday, but still no luck. It seems to be an outlook issue. All hotmail accounts seem to work fine, but the new outlook ones dont.
    Does anyone have any advice?

    Thank you.

Ayew has been playing as a striker in the pre season. Could be worth investing over Siggy if he keeps that spot.

It's one to monitor, I'm sure one of the 4.5's will look to be nailed before the start of the season.

Didn't Rangel lose his place though? I think he did get a few games last season under Guidolin, but then stopped playing again.

Taylor, Williams, Fernandez and Naughton are looking the most likely back 4. I'm a swans fan and will be avoiding our defence until December as we have a nightmare run of fixtures after GW2.
