Our Rate My Team tool and the associated Projections enjoyed an extensive update overnight as we applied tweaked player appearance probabilities based on the pre-season matches.

Further updates are planned today once Andre Ayew is moved to the West Ham squad and Paul Pogba arrives in the game.

We will also be updating the team attack and defence ratings based on the current bookmaker market trends.

Indeed, both Rate My Team and the Projections are likely to be tweaked on a daily basis as further team news breaks over the week. If you’re using these tools, be sure to check back each day to see how the changes reflect on your current selections.

Meanwhile, late last week we created an updated movie previewing both Rate My Team and the Projections.

    I am never not going to have Hazard, and if that means I cannot have Vardy while not leaving out having at least 2 premium defenders, one out which is not less than 5.5 and the other not less than 5.0, would you not have Eriksen instead of just not having Lamela?

    Some potential bargains:
    Walcot @ 7.5 -- No Cazorla, Wilshere, Ozil, so could start the early season games. Could be an early season hero.

    Funes Mori @ 5.0 -- Nailed on to start now Stones has left. Scored 4 goals last season and was on the bench for most of the games.

    Courtois @ 5.5 -- New Italian manager, Chelsea defence will be more solid this season.

    My biggest peeve with FPL is its captaincy rules : it's such a hit-or-miss and rewards luck more than anything. So I think I'll go with a team that covers all the big hitting captaincy options from FFS polls for the first 2-3 weeks and then pull the trigger on Wildcard once things settle.

    How does this look for a 2-3 GWs team ?

    Can captain/vice-cap Aguero/Haz and Kane/Ibra during alternate weeks - and cover the big captaincy choices.

    Defense looks flat but I'm okay playing Friend and Evans for the first couple of games (STO/cpl) and (sun/EVE). I don't see any 5.0 or 5.5 defs that catch my eye, apart from Valencia.

      In defence I'll have coverage from WBA / Burnley (goalies) and 3 of Everton / Man Utd / Leicester / Man City / Boro (defenders) per GW.

      Stones might have to fight Otamendi for a place later on, but Kompany won't be back for another month or so, so Stones is a pretty good buy for now I think. Similarly, there might be some competition between Funes Mori and Kone if that deal goes through, though Funes Mori will probably be favored based on how he did last season, and in case he loses his place I can easily get Williams (his lack of a pre-season makes me hesitant to instantly pick him up).

      Feghouli and Redmond are risks, but both look like they will be involved in the first few gameweeks, and they rotate very well too (WAT, BOU, SUN, WAT, SWA, SOU, MID, BUR, SUN). Redmond could also be played OOP, and Feghouli has apparently been West Ham's best player in pre-season.

      All of my attackers should be on penalties, while Mahrez, Martial and Lamela are all fantastic attacking threats who you can rely on to score and to assist.
