Dugout Discussion – Hull vs Leicester

Spare a thought for Mike Phelan.

Already the Hull City caretaker manager seems to be unfurling the white flag, even before Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez get their first run at his patched-up defence.

The first Dugout Discussion of the Premier League season could witness one of the most one-sided opening fixtures in memory.

Champions Leicester turn up at the KCOM Stadium off the back of the FA Community Shield defeat to Manchester United but surely still brimming with confidence and optimism following the triumphant campaign.

Certainly they bring plenty of talent and pace – heightened by the presence of Ahmed Musa and Demarai Gray on their teamsheet. That might just prove too much, even for a spirited Hull City showing.

Stranger things have happened, though. Just ask Claudio Ranieri.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I wonder how many Leicester players have 5000-1 bets on Hull to win the PL?

Is it too early to talk about Snodgrass as a season keeper?

Oh please. Get up. Watch the Olympic women's football. They are ten times more macho than these guys who feign injury. Bleh.

What would have been my worst case scenario:

    - Vardy doing nothing
    - Mahrez scoring
    - Leicester conceding

    Well.....

How are the centre mid pairing for Leicester holding up? No Huth + those two in the middle was always a concern

When making an observation about a game I don't appreciate comments accusing me of FPL bias (especially when there is none as I don't have any players involved in this game)
