Attentions now turn to the Etihad where Pep Guardiola makes his Premier League bow.

The Black Cats are in transition under their new manager, while City boast such attacking riches there can be no doubt that they head into today’s clash as overwhelming favourites.

Expectant Fantasy managers will be looking to Sergio Aguero to capitlise – the Argentine heads into the teatime kick-off as the most popular captain choice in the Gameweek and with over 40% ownership.

          I was never convinced.

          I seem to recall Mahrez was on them, went to Vardy, and back to Mahrez.

          Was always in the balance in my opinion.

            Mahrez missed one last season maybe against Villa.

            Ranieri said in the aftermath that he was off pens but basically he could get the chance to take them again.

            i seem to remember Claudio saying that Mahrez was taking a rest from them when he transferred the responsibility to Vardy last season after a couple of misses. He went to great lengths to say he'd get them back at some stage. I wasn't expecting it todqay, though - Vardy was pretty good at them.

            Mahrez missed 2 in a row, Vardy then took the subsequent and last 2 Leicester got.

            Given Mahrez' penalties never look great, I'm amazed he's on them ahead of Vardy.
