Attentions now turn to the Etihad where Pep Guardiola makes his Premier League bow.

David Moyes’ Sunderland are the guests and potential party poopers, although the odds do seem stacked against them.

The Black Cats are in transition under their new manager, while City boast such attacking riches there can be no doubt that they head into today’s clash as overwhelming favourites.

Expectant Fantasy managers will be looking to Sergio Aguero to capitlise – the Argentine heads into the teatime kick-off as the most popular captain choice in the Gameweek and with over 40% ownership.

    Other than the year Chelsea ran riot in week one, and I had Malouda and Drogba, this has been my most solid opening gameweek. What I like is that so far, no players have run riot and no team has seriously impressed. If the last games go the same way, it's nice to have the breathing space to roll over a transfer and make a better assessment after two weeks. Yes I have Gray and Vardy, yes I'm disappointed with Heaton, VVD and Stones, but I haven't lost serious ground to anyone and there are no likely price rises I fear from today's games.

    It's almost like a free week, getting some points on the board and the chance to assess the landscape. I hope tomorrow's and Monday's games are equally dull!
