We were dressed for success, but success it never comes.

Suited and booted, we crown the new season riding a wave of giddy optimism. The positivity flows on the eve of a new campaign which, on paper, looks destined to be one of the best in memory.

Granville makes a belated return to ScoutCast action to join Jonty, Andy and myself as we start to sift the seemingly endless array of options open to us on the new season player list.

It’s bewildering stuff but, guided by you, the community, we attempt to navigate all your pre-season questions before laying our own cards on the table.

It’s amazing to be back amongst it again. Let’s just hope the smiles stay as wide for the next episode.

    having reservations over firmino due tofixtures but shall just follow the overflowing confidence of everyone on here.
    and also townsend but fixtures look good and he seems to have a goal in him

      Going the 3 premium forwards route I thnk this is as good a team as you will see.

      Midfield has some really good potential value picks - risky of course but you are aware of that I'm sure.

    I made my team a long time ago and Deulofeu was totally a great call. Then I haven't heard anything about him since and not seeing him in a lot of squads here. What's happened?

      He inconsistent. A good show in a pre-season friendly and he's in 80& RMTs. A bad game and he's in 20%. I think the last one was a bad game. Go with your own instinct!

    1.0 itb Vardy will become Kane GW2

    I'm expecting Cazorla to start in the #10 spot. AFAIK he is on penalties and Wenger has repeatably said how much they missed his presence when he was injured last season and how influential he is.

    Nolito should start. Pep's first signing and a player that he obviously likes - has a real eye for goal

    Zaha mainly because of palace's good fixtures

        a) I ran a precise calculation and with some rounding and weighted averages the final computation came to 15%...ok no particular reason just low ownership has more potential to rise in price.

    Is Gaston Ramirez nailed on?

    I always assumed so but the pre-season round up seems to indicate 4-2-3-1 is Karanka's preference but if he goes with Negredo and Rhodes up top there could be no space for Gaston
