We delve into the Gameweek 2 data this Wednesday evening in the first members article of the week. Man United and Sunderland’s new midfielders impress on their first starts, Eden Hazard and Harry Kane’s contrasting fortunes arrive under analysis, whilst Michail Antonio thrives on his return to the Hammers’ flank.
Anyone heard of Javier Manquillo from Atleti? He's a RB and we're meant to be signing him today.
He didn't make the grade at Pool. Looks average
He was a young kid at Pool
You not remember him at Liverpool 😆
Had a loan cut short at Liverpool in 2014-15. Personally, I think he was quite good, a solid right back defensively without any real attacking threat. Opinions of him by Liverpool fans in general though is not very positive, so dont expect a worldbeater.
Anyone tempted to finally play Capoue this weekend?
I'm playing him over Townsend.
Can't fit in unless I go 2 up top and I can't bring myself to do it!
Having said that I still can't decide on a bloody 3rd striker!!!
Rondon 🙂
I've been tossing up that idea for fixtures, but will he share with Berahino at all?
Good question. Honestly, I just went with my gut feeling and until Benteke finds his form, I think Rondon and Negredo are the best picks in that price range.
Rondon's stats are amazing. Check the members area
Negredo
Might be forced to go AoA this week, so yes
Tempted to play him over Gray with a looming ban it can only take away from his focus.
I'm dropping Siggy but am split between the following (£7.4 max)
Redmond
Tadic
Mirallas
Bolasie
Lamela
Please can someone decide for me!?
Yea. DONT drop Siggy
Tadic
I doesn't feel right dropping him but his fixtures are terrible. Everton have a nice run and Saints fixtures aren't too bad either.
lamela
Tadic
Redmond. An OOP should never be ignored in ff.
+1
Tadic for quality, Redmond for money saving
Lamela.
Courtois
Stones VVD Shaw
Redmond Firmino Ramirez Hazard
Ibrahimovic Aguero Carroll
Subs Routledge Friend Amateur
Best TFR this week?
Carrolls injured dude
get rid of carroll asap
Not sure if you know but Carroll is out for 4-6 weeks (which will end up being double that)
Carroll->Negredo/Gray/Long
Firmino brace this weekend, as a gift to all fantasy managers who dropped him.
I will quit FPL immediately if this happens
It's not really impossible or anything. Liverpool always do better against better teams
I really hope he finally delivers something as this is going to be his last chance, I cant take more hits on him
10/10 it's happening
As a Liverpool fan and a previous owner of Firm until last night, I'll have very mixed feelings if he scores.
Shouldn't be dropping a player like Firmino after just two games. More patience needed.
He hasn't looked near as threatening as Mané and Coutinho. He seems to have a role where he creates space for the other midfielders, rather than getting to the big chances himself. Sturridge also dents his prospects imo.
Fair enough. You've thought it through. Can't believe Klopp would want to negate his goalscoring instincts though.
Blank as a gift to all who'd like him for 8m
Is Ivanovic a viable option in defence? He's been getting forward a lot and have found himself in goal scoring positions already. Chelsea defence have very good stats in terms of shots/chances conceded and looks pretty solid, but have conceded goals in most games (incl pre-season). Reasonably priced at 6.0, but Chelsea's fixtures doesn't look to good after GW 5.
Any other suggestions for a premium defender to go with Valencia?
Baines or Coleman (if fit). Love their fixtures the next weeks.
Yeah, lokking at Baines as an alternative. Or maybe even Williams, not sure Baines is worth the extra 0.5 over him.
You might be right, especially since Williams is a BAPS-magnet. However, I think Baines and Coleman will be more involved in the attack against weaker oppositions.
If they play 3 centre backs, Baines is worth 5.5 all day long.
I cant see them starting with 3 centre backs in the next few weeks though.
It would most likely mean starting only 2 from Barkley, Mirallas, Deulofeu and Bolasie
4-2-3-1 from now on I reckon
Word round the Everton campfire is that is Ronald's plan. Not cast in stone though.
Jags Williams Funes Mori as Williams covers a lot of ground and is a great interceptor.
Stones, Williams, Shaw are about the best of the bunch.
I'm no fan of Ivan either.
I'm getting him in now, he's a nice differential to have in the next few weeks. stats are great
My plan is to drop him for a 4.5 so I can upgrade a mid tot Ozil.
Please pick one for the long term
A. Foster and Snodgrass
B. Foster and Ramirez
C. Valdes and Bojan
How long is long term?
B is the only option that appeals.
A
Quick question
Chamberlain starting this week?
doubt it
Thanks.
Thoughts on a WC? 0.3 in the bank
Foster
Valencia, Williams, McAuley,
Hazard, Mane, Barkley, Redmond
Aguero, Ibrahimović, Gray
Bench; Capoue, Amat, Kingsley,
Good team. Maybe another 4.5 for McAuley as u already have Foster and also 2 Swansea defenders.
Cheers 🙂
Why two Swansea defs?
I'm assuming you're takiing about Amat 4.0 and Kingsley 4.1 ?
Yup. Less coverage in defense with 2 Brom and 2 Swansea defs
I would do Souare over McAuley
Why would you put gray in. Huge ban looming is a big probability
It was from 4 years ago, is he really going to get banned now?
Do you really want to take a risk if he is?
Considering the severity and the fact that fa will make an example I would say yes. Robert huth got banned for 2 games for thing on twitter no where near as nasty as this. 5 game ban if it was done on the field so no way will he escape. There would be an outrage.
De Gea (Jakupovic)
Evans Valencia Morgan (Friend Amat)
Redmond Tadic Lamela Mahrez (Gradel)
Aguero Gray Ibrahimovic
Anything that needs sorting? Tempted to just stick Gradel on the bench since he's already dropped in price.
That Redmond + Tadic partnership can score you some good points. Personally, I would have Hazard in my team, but again - that is just a personal preference.
Looking good to go that. Stick this week for sure.
Any news on Friend?
Would be shocked if he was risked before international break now. He'll be back after that for sure. You don't usually limp off and play three days later.
How the hell do you build a tram around Kun, Ibra, Haz (34.5m+). Add Ozil to that makes it 43m for 4 players. I'm struggling with my WC team!
It's not that hard
Easy enough. I have all 4 of those
Capoue, Amat, Jaku & Kingsley = 16.7m
I will have all 4 in my team
I have all of those and including a back 5 of Shaw, Valencia, Stones, Terry and McCauley!
I had Sanchez until this week and still worked it. Gaston. Gray. Redmond. A 4.5. Pretty easy.
Cheap keepers - eg Foster and Jakupovic.
A cheap defender or two -eg Amat of Swansea plus Stones or Shaw or MacAuley. No one over 5.5m or thereabouts.
Mid-priced midfielders galore (no Ozil for now) - Lallana, Barkley, Coutinho, Redmond, Townsend plus cheap enabler like Capoue or Kante or Fletcher.
One 6.5m or less striker - eg Grey, Diamande, Valencia or splash out on Negredo.
Hey presto, there's your tram...
Going to take Payet out, I don't want to risk whether he will start and without Carroll he doesn't have a proper striker to feed.
Who should I bring in for payet?
Ozil
Not sure if Carroll was around for all games when Payet was scoring/assisting. He may not make it in time for GW3 but definitely worth a shout post int'l break. Ozil or Mane can be great alternatives
Can anyone recommend me a good -4 midfielder apart from Capoue?
I'm thinking of doing Ibra, Barkley & 4.5 midfielder in for Eriksen, Carroll & Mahrez
Maloney of Hull City or Barry
Carroll is injd
Yeah, I know that's why I'm lumping him out, he's already took a 0.1 hit too, same with Eriksen.
I'm not too sure on Maloney's minutes though.
So have we come to a conclusion as to who´s the best replacement for Friend? Nought in the bank...
Tricky this week. I think in general, Djibodji is a good shout - but atm the injuries and fixtures are against Sunderland
Yeah...hmmm... PVA just about the olny one I´d consider out of that lot, but he´s out of price range.
McAuley Holding for a couple of weeks,
Didn´t he rise already?
Yeah sorry. Not showing on my TFR page.
Oh. Didn't see Holding in there. Reckon he´s a starter?
For a few weeks. Wenger singing his praises after Leicester game and Chambers put out to pasture.
Stoke defender?
Nsue
Aa... a bunch of options I see. Cheers for the suggestions buds! Have Mee myself already so will have a better look tonight.
Pape Souare - those fixtures are delightful
Took advice and dropped Bellerin and hope it won't backfire.
So much one can do without Ibra.
Stelkers Jaku
Holding Baines Valencia (McAuley Amat)
Sterling Mahrez Hazard Redmond (Capoue)
Kun Lukaku Negredo
Too much Everton. 😉
Ha Ha. Great fixtures coming up.
I have avoided them like the plague in recent seasons but I am far more optimistic now.
Marez will go next week for Arsenal and Lukaku easy to change if need be,
Good good. I have no EVR. Too many bad memories from last season.
looks good .
Anyone know if Donald Love is nailed? Don't know anything about the Sunderland defense
Not nailed
Thanks
I'm obvs not down wit da kids but who the fook is Tekkers?!
Benteke
Da fecker 4m Liverpud that used to play for V1lla
Benteke??
Benteke
Reported
he's da shiz blud
Ahhh shiiiiit, of course!
So will the FPL gods troll us this weekend? Vardy brace? Kun injury?
Leicester and Spurs are both going to start scoring goals, just a matter of when. Will hit us all hard when they do.
Aye. Cat. Pigeons.
Firmino
Vardy brace won't be a troll for those astute managers who have faith 😉
^^
Stay strong and keep the faith 🙂 !
Haha, true! (I'm not one of them)
It's Ok if Vardy scores 2 imo. Sold him for Ibra. I personally do not expect him to outscore Kun & Ibra in the long run. Fixtures are going to get crowded for them as well.
Soooo comes down to this:
A) Amat (lei)
B) Capoue (ARS) (using AOA)
C) Williams (STO) (-4)
C
Hm, that's the option I'm least keen on!
Really?
Leicester will hammer SWN so no cs for Amat.
Capooey won't keep his scoring run going and will be held by ARS.
Yeah the -4.
Not sure on that re. Leicester. Doesn't feel like a game they'd run riot in, Swansea are pretty solid
A
C
My mate saw Ben Watson at the train station near the crystal Palace training ground yesterday.
I wonder what he was doing there
Just strolled out for a walk
Lovely place to go and spot people in tracksuits
Some damned good picks falling in price. I can feel a "falling stars" post coming on.
It's like playing the stock market.. I'm tempted to buy some of these falling stars 'on the cheap'!
Was just thinking this the other day
Price drops are to be celebrated.
One day I'll run a team for the season just picking fallers. It'd be worthwhile and I bet it'd do a lot better than we might think.
In a draft league:
Should I trade Tadic for Silva?
Already have Redmond and no City players
Newcastle fans will remember how streaky of a manager Pardew was. His record would be LLLLLDLLWWWWDWLLLLLLL. Do we think he's in the middle of a losing streak right now despite easy fixtures?
Since they beat Southampton in December 2015 Palace have won only 2 out of the last 24 Premier League games. Apart from their run in the FA Cup they have been absolutely woeful.
As a Toon, it was the losing mentality that he instilled. Still early doors but I'll follow Palace form before picking up anyone
Due a run of Ws by the looks of it
Is A.Williams likely to start this Saturday? I see he got 10 minutes against WBA but could Koeman keep the same 11 seeing as they won?
Thinking of doing Stones to Williams, thoughts?
I think he will get 90 this week
Williams played full game in midweek and kept a clean sheet, so we know he is ready. Not sure if he will be rested coz of this. Stones also seems to be playing really well though City yet to keep a CS. I think its only a matter of time when they start getting them.
So Firminos girl is having a baby.. a goal or more coming this weekend with baby celebration?
WHAT! WHEN'S THE DUE DATE? WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL US THIS BEFORE!!!
This kind of news should be announced well in advance by players. So inconsiderate of them. So either he wont play or if he does then he's bound to score and do the baby celebration
Think he'll be given the weekend off
Against Tottenham? Doubt it..
A) Januzaj
B) Snodgrass
C) Ramirez
How about this?
Ive changed things around a little to get Tekkers in. 0.1m itb
Foster(Jakopovic)
Valencia,Williams,McCauley(Collins,Amat)
Hazard,Tadic,Barkley,Mirallas(Capoue)
Aguero,Ibrahimovic,Benteke
Mirallas slightly edges it over Redmond for me due to fixtures and form.
I'd hold out one more week on Tekkers I think. Don't think he's fully match fit.
Im going to take that risk. Good price and fixtures.
Gut feeling Arsenal will come good. And that surgery will be needed to fit like Ozil in
Tadic or Barkley could be Cazorla(on pens)in a couple of weeks.
Fixtures ARE pretty pro Everton yeah. If you're comfortable with the reduced mins for Mirallas.
ps, it's McAuley
Cheers guys. Which would be better?
A)Deulofeu, Stones TO Mirallas, Holgate
B)Firmino, Deulofeu TO Barkley, Redmond
Btw I'm gonna play Gray this week. He's playing right?
B) by a country mile
And yeah he should do, he played last night so can't see why he wouldn't play this week.
Heard about the news of him getting banned over his 4 year old tweets that's where the thought came from.
b
Foster
Walker, Souare, McAulley
Ozil,Sterling,Barkley Capoue
Kun, Ibra, Costa
Amat, Friend, Fletcher
Viable or to weak at the back ??
