In the first of a number of members articles over the international break, we delve into the data from the Gameweek gone by. Palace’s approach with Christian Benteke arrives under the radar, whilst we also take a look at Paul Pogba’s first away outing for United, Chelsea’s in-form attacking duo and the performance of City’s playmaker in the weekend win over West Ham.

OK, settled on Kun+Firmino->Lukaku+Sanchez for -4. Hate giving up faith in Bobby, but next two fixtures aren't great and he may drop further. Plan to WC in 2-3 weeks so can easily get back in.

If Gray get's banned, can get Benteke for another -4 or just play Capoue against a leaky WHU.

I'd take the hit. Expect Pereyra to start next match and take Caps place.

    Foster Heaton
    Stones Shaw Friend Amat Morgan

    Aguero Ibrahimovic Gray

    To this:

    Foster Heaton

I wildcarded with the same front 8. Partly because I'm bored over the international break but mainly because I wanted a handful of players in due to form and fixtures. I don't want to be left behind, playing catch up

Currently have Kun, Friend, Stones, Lamela, & Olsson (serves me right for trying to save 0.1m last week) who are all doubtful starters for GW3.

    1) Should I keep any of these?
    2) Should I WC and clean up the whole mess now?

We'll have enough GW's to save 2 FT's to bring Aguero back in yeah? Depends on me wildcarding or not.

Triple Arsenal midfield on wildcard. Crazy?

    Pickford Foster
    Evans Valencia Amat Walker Pieters
    Hazard Ozil Sanchez Cazorla Capoue
    Ibra Defoe Diomande

Can ditch any of the big three mids + Defoe to get Kun back in.

    Rip it to shreds

    1. Ibracadabra
      • 16 Years

      Crazy.

    2. Ibracadabra
      • 16 Years

More honestly, I like the defense though Walker/Pieters aren't my personal cup of tea. Midfield is tremendous outside of the game Arsenal loses 2-1 with Giroud scoring or the Ox or Walcott (or anyone outside of those three) or worse, getting blanked. Too volatile and risky in my opinion unless they were all fit and firing. They looked good for ONE HALF against Watford, that's it...

Front three is fine, but it means you have to play Diomande OR Capoue every week and that doesn't look great to me. I would ditch Ozil and/or Cazorla, bring in a 7m or 8m player like a Lamela or Sterling for Ozil and upgrade Diomande to something like a Remy / Negredo / Gray (if not banned) / etc.

Thanks for the advice. I fancy Stoke to tighten up at the back now their fixtures are turning plus Butland should be back soon. Lamela is a possibility if no ban. Not keen on Sterling. Seems like a bandwagon that the wheels will fall off soon enough

Too much Arsenal.. leave Cazorla if you want double cause he has penalties... and money from Ozil invest in forward. Diomande is not a very good pick. Maybe Hernandez if you want Hull, he was quite active

  11. Judas

Which option do you think is the most sensible/will bring more points?:

A: Aguero + Deulofeu + Friend ---> Benteke + Sanchez + Williams (-4). Save Wildcard to get Aguero back in.

B: Wildcard this week. Do similar to above but be able to bring Vardy in after downgrading Terry and Redmond. Potentially take hits to bring Aguero back.

        potentially.

Friend is injured so id have to play Valencia or Stones in the Derby. I guess when you put it like this I could probably wait a week to get williams. As even if he gets a clean sheet im only 2points up on the hit

Friend will be back after the IB (from what I've heard)
You gotta play Valencia in the derby coz of attacking potential and the possibility of a 0-0 dullfest.

I think that wasting FTs for defenders is bad (unless your D is devastating)... for a 4th def and a hit - I was playing like that last year (first full season) and it's one of the things I KNOW are bad now. It's a mistake imo.

Just had a thought about Kun for those who still have wc.
If he get's banned, his price will drop in gw's 4&5 (probably to 12.9?), his price will be locked for gw6 swansea (a) where most people will be getting him back in, and then gw7 he plays Spurs (a). So i'm thinking that unless he goes mental vs Swansea and triggers a huge price rise for gw7, then it might be wise to set up your team to go Kun-less til the gw8 int break and then wc him back in. Thoughts?

    1. davies
      • 11 Years

But those first 2 weeks, he is a slight differential. Captain against Swansea where he goes mental could be a big boost.

I think so. Few reasons. Williams not going to be the BAP magnet he was for Swans in the Everton team. Baines has some/share/all of fk, corner and penners.

I'd say so, loads of penalties and Baines is potentially in amongst that. Not to mention Williams baps was awfully low in the last game.

yep..Jags looks much better in baps and even may score an odd goal.

No one knows if Williams will hog BPs like he did at Swans. If not, then I'd say Baines is worth it

Would be harsh to drop Jaku, hasn't done much wrong has he...

Nope, but I think Pickford guarantees three months of action whilst Jak could be dropped at any moment. Only Foster's value is stopping from having both.

Yeah, possibly Hart, but having not done so (yet) then that leaves Pick as the go to....

Easy downgrade to Pickford if this becomes a reality. Hopefully no one has Jaku as their first choice keeper anyways

What to do with this team lads?

    Foster, Jaku
    Shaw, Baines, Stones, Friend, Amat
    Hazard, Barkley, Tadic, Ramirez, Capoue
    Aguero, Ibra, Gray

    2 FT, 0.9 ITB

    Cheers 🙂

Can upgrade him with Aguero money but you're right, he's decent enough.

I'm not convinced by barkley tbh he only got jammy points
Lamela with his ban problem i don't know but he is one to consider for sure
Antonio may play RB again so..

I don't know who to buy in townsend's place..

Am I the only one not selling Agüero just because of the ban?

If he just misses 2 games, it's not that terrible, I think. That's why we have 15 players squads. Nevermind his price dropping, it will rise again soon. Mainly I don't fancy the headache of destroying and rebuilding my team now and then just for 2 games.

Having 13.0 value on your bench is so hard mate also alot of people including me have capoue for their 5th mid , so it's hard..

Just depends who else is on your team. Lots of teams aren't looking so great right now (Firminio, Mahrez, Tadic, etc..) so downgrading Aguero opens a ton of options

    4. Puyol Pants Up
      • 11 Years
      9 years, 6 months ago

I mean, you could just sell him and keep the money in the bank. I don't really see the logic of keeping him on your bench for 2 weeks when you can just do Aguero ---> (someone good) and then do (someone good) ---> Aguero when he is back.

    5. Sharpe Shuffle

I'm considering this. I really want Hazard + Arsenal mids which is why I'm considering wildcarding to ship Kun out. The idea of using 2 FTs to get someone like Costa in and out when he never scores big points even when he scores a goal seems like a poor move. Ditto Kane and Kaku due to form

Anyone been watching Swansea games? Has Leroy Fer actually been getting into some advanced positions or is it just a fluke/coincidence that he has scored two goals already?

He's playing a CDM / CM role but when they move into attack he essentially plays an attacking mid role, hanging around outside the box and then making runs on goals for headers, etc. He plays a lot like Yaya did at City a few years back - box to box but exxpected to sit in front of the backline when they're in defense. He's an interesting prospect, and i think the only downside is that Swansea aren't expected to be a hugely attacking side, Llorente might change that. I'm holding off until I see them playing consistently.

wow nice low down thanks. he's not really someone i wanted but im currently struggling to find .5 on my WC so thinking of downgrading snodgrass to fer as 4th mid and hopefully upgrade sometime when Ive increased TV. no one around 5mil seems great so may as well grab the guy with some runs on the board and possible price increases

Holebas has looked quite attacking so far and Watford's fixtures take a turn for the better soon. Is he a good pick at 4.5 or could Kenedy threaten his place?

Great question, and I'm not sure. They've been shipping goals so not sure whether they'll revert back to a 4-man backline but Holebas could be a diamond in the rough if he keeps his spot.

Holebas Looked so good in the last 3 fixtures he's also on corners
Kenedy is a waste in defending roles imo he deserves to have an attacking roles
