It’s fair to say that Sergio Aguero’s three-match suspension has changed the landscape across Fantasy games as we look for solutions to the Argentine’s enforced absence.

For many Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers, wildcards have been the order of the day, allowing us to distribute funds across the midfield and forward positions whilst penciling in plans for the Argentine’s return in Gameweek 6.

Having assessed some of the most impressive mid-price midfielders and forwards in separate articles earlier in the week, we now look to the premium options in both categories, seeking out the form options and highlighting some overlooked alternatives.

Anyone's guess but Moyes seemed really down last week in the presser about the potential pitfalls of playing a young GK (since Pickford conceded the goal so easily).

I think Mika will be the starter. He has played top flight football and has more experience. I could see Pickford going out on loan in January when Mannone is back although I think he will be a long term option.

    Guidolin on Mawson:

He is a young player, but I like him. He’s almost ready to play in the Premier League. I don’t know how good he can be, it is too early to say, but he is training as well as his team mates. I think he could surprise a few of our fans.

You cant fit him into that set up - and it is a great set up. Although personally I'd have concerns over Puncheon as a certain starter long term. Chelski's fixtures also become pretty horrific after this week, so unless you are planning Ibra and Costa out for Aguero and a cheaper option in a couple of weeks, I'd look at changing Costa. As much as I think Costa will score alot of goals, he will also pick up alot of yellows, a couple of suspensions and have his bonus points taken by Hazard,

Punch is nailed on after the Remy injury I think. Just think Costa will destroy Swansea. Could go back to my old setup of Sterling Lanzini Benteke over Antonio Puncheon Costa I guess

Costa and Punch to Sterling and Lukaku - then you have what I'm fielding. You're stuck with a rather cheap defense budget though.

Aguero to Benteke leaves me with this:

    Heaton
    Valencia - Stones - Kone
    Hazard - Lamela - Redmond - Barkley
    Benteke - Ibra - Gray

Foster - Souare - Friend - Capoue (ignore order)

    Anything worth a -4? I'm thinking either:

    A) Sanchez in for Lamela/Redmond
    B) Antonio or Cazorla in for Lamela/Redmond and then Gray to Kane in GW5 (Dembele back)

    Thoughts? Anything I'm missing?

As FPL assets, I prefer the latter 2. Coutinho is a wonderful footballer. But is often assisting the assist, or playing the pass that sets up the attack from wide/deep positions. No points for that.

Anyone have strong feelings one way or the other on Antonio vs. Lamela long term? I had Antonio most of last season so I've a soft spot for the lad, but the 7.0 pricing initially put me off since it seemed like he was being wasted at right back again so I started season with Lamela.

Now Lamela has gone up to 7.1 and has a nice run of fixtures but Spurs midfield looks more crowded after the deadline and they just haven't clicked as a unit yet. Would like to have held onto him till he reached 7.2 but I don't think that's going to happen.

Antonio's run of fixtures looks even more enticing, so I'm almost ready to pull the trigger (on my WC right now) but the only thing keeping me is the thought that as West Ham return to health he'll lose some influence or shift to right back again.

Lamela didn't look good to me in last game, that assist was pure luck, I think Antonio will score more points in long term. But still too early to judge.

It depends what system they will play. Now when Coleman is back, he won't play RWB rather in 3-5-2, so he will compete for the place higher up the field. If they play 4-2-3-1 he may be one of the wingers.

Oh... and there's Valencia who may play up front, second striker and on the wing. tricky.

    Best midfield pairing for 12.0?

Redmond, Lanzini, Feghouli & Snodgrass all spring to mind..

      Lanzini and Snodgrass/Januzaj.

Capoue and Antonio and bench Capoue. If youve already got a 4.5 mid or striker then you dont want two cheap midfielders as well.

I still think Firms will be the guy from the LIV midfield...not convinced by Sterling tbh. Mane could explode. Out of those, probably would say C

I have and I still don't rate him as a player and feel he will be rotated.

don't dispute he has looked good, Colonel, but still think he is not going to fulfill expectations...Could be my stubbornness since I am not a fan of his or the way he runs 😯

        A. Sterling looks great. Firmino is a good long term issue but it might be best to see what happens with Sturridge and that Liverpool midfield.

Firmino is great but Sturridge, if fit, is exceptional.

Spurs defence won't be nearly as good without Rose, he's a huge loss.

Such a drag. Says hamstring on PhysioRoom, but no expected-back date. Hamstrings aren't usually a week long thing, unless the report of the injury was precautionary. He played the full 90, right?
