He’s gone. Aguero has been shown the door, at least by myself, Jonty and Andy.

But Granville had to be different.

The revitalised ScoutCast shock-jockey simply had to go against the grain and choose to bench the Argentine.

He’s also refusing to play his Wildcard, challenging us to persuade him over the course of this episode.

Do we succeed in tipping him over the edge? You’ll have to listen in and find out.

In doing so, you’ll hear the four of us address a barrage of Wildcard fuelled questions from you, the Community, as we tackle subjects such as the Arsenal midfield conundrum, Payet vs Antonio and survey the options when it comes to cheap enablers.

This episode of the ScoutCast was first beamed live via YouTube on Tuesday evening.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Is Sterlin nailed long - term? (Sane, Navas, Nolito)?
Are KDB and Silva better season- long options (for draft fantasy game)?
    Thanks!

Not long term nailed, huge competition for the place with such a range of choices for Pep who I'm sure will start rotating with the English noname first.

If you don't have Heaton in your wildcard draft, you're crazy.

Heaton has a pretty safe floor of 2/3/4 points purely due to playing & save points; 7, 5, 6 saves in his first three games.

Leads his team in baseline bonus rankings as a result of this meaning he's the #1 candidate for bonus points if Burnley keep a clean sheet, already picked up 3 vs Liverpool in gameweek 2.

These are just the stats stuff, the fact that he plays for a relatively defensive team not only increases the chances of a clean sheet but he also sees a higher quantity of lower quality shots from long range when 'parking the bus'.

Pickford/Jakupovic is really unsustainable, talk of an early return for Mannone and now Marshall signing for Hull rustles a few feathers.

          Zaza & Jakupovic to £6.5m & Heaton.

        No problem, Trev.

The best thing is fixtures don't really matter for Heaton with his safe floor and as a bonus every clean sheet game could be 10pts+ with his bonus monopoly.

Speaking of bonus monopolies, will Wilson be starting anytime soon? I need Francis back at right-back.

          • 16 Years

A lot of the fans would like M Wilson at CB so Francis can go to RB, but Smith has done nothing wrong at RB. Looks like Wilson will be backup.

That is disappointing but understandable. Playing Francis as a centre-back leaves a lot of meat on the bone when it comes to his potential, in my opinion.

Totally agree, but Francis did well at CB when Elphick was injured and seems to be nailed at CB now. I'd like to see Brad Smith in for Daniels, who hasn't started the season too well. Plus Brad is only 4.0m in FPL

That is true to a degree but there is nothing crazy about not owning him. The obvious rival is Foster, whose West Brom team will keep more clean sheets under Pulis. There is little point using both, because West Brom are clearly defensively sound on the road, and it is on the road where Foster will also gain save points. Their unpredictability makes rotating Foster a no-go, and he looks the best value of the original 4.5s.

The question is, imo, Foster vs Heaton. It would be crazy not to own one of them, but not crazy to choose Foster over Heaton.

      1. Parm

Heaton is the better goalkeeper option, much like Evans is the better £4.5m defensive option. They go together, but I suppose I should've mentioned it but that is the approach I would be working with.

Evans makes Heaton a good choice for sure, I was unaware of that context. But if you dont want Evans then Foster is the winner imo. Burnley are unknown quantity and West Brom are not. One result against an absurdly wasteful Liverpool has given Heaton his points. They were poor against a bad Swansea side who deserved to win, and were beaten easily by a Chelski side who could and should have scored more. Their lack of quality will show over the season and I think the Liverpool result will be the anomaly rather than the rule.

I had no intention of keeping but seriously considering it now. Saints home to Swans next week so can swap for Long/Austin if he gets more than a 1 match ban

Is anybody in the know about how accurate fpl statistics has been in regards to players dropping? They have Tadic to drop tonight and I'm considering ditching him, but would prefer wait for news tomorrow to see if Wenger says anything about Sanchez or any other issues pop up. I know they had Townsend to drop for about 5 nights in a row before he eventually did.

Hard to explain but Tadic looks a dead cert to drop today based on selling patterns.

If it helps, I'm bringing him in tomorrow 🙂

Cheers. Might just suffer the drop to be safe. Why are you getting him in can I ask?

Fab stats and he's been unlucky not to have accrued pts. Bad luck tends to change.

Are there any viable 4.0s except Amat or Kinglsey?

      they're probably not viable either.

i prefer to have 5 real defenders. pay up at 4.5 for nailed-on is my advice

      Heaton, Williams, Pieters.

      4.0 in goal.

I'd swap Baines for Williams, bring in Kosc and use the 4.5 over on Pieters, Mee or Friend.

Last time I brought in Kosc, he got sent off in the same GW. Never again.

Haha. Another 6.0 from Arsenal then. If not I'd opt for Walker and a 4.5 or Fuchs and Pieters because of rotation possibilities.

Arsenal will keep clean sheets and have a fantastic run of fixtures. A top defender will sort out rotation worries imo and allow you to use your transfers elsewhere.

Koscielny is easily my favourite Arsenal defender. Has 2-5 goals in him a season, great disciplinary record in recent years(ignore your red card incident) and ranks highly when it comes to bonus points and isn't reliant on attacking returns to get them, like Bellerín is.

Yeah agreed on this. He is such a threat going forward.

I'm trying to crowbar him into mine but will require a couple of price changes before Saturday.

    A) aguero and redmond > benteke and sanchez -4

    Or

    B) aguero > Lukaku

100k riding on the best answer which would you pick?

      B. And have Redmond for SWA in GW5.

Hi folks, quick question. All options entail a -4.

    Kane and Deulofeu to:
    A)Sanchez and Zaza
    B)Ozil and Lukaku
    C)Payet and Giroud.

I'm favouring A atm and would captain Payet. Looking at fixtures for the next 4 weeks, alternatively I could save a hit and do Deulofeu to Caz.

    Thanks

      My WC says A.
But in isolation as options C looks good.
