Romelu Lukaku saved my Gameweek and put a new spring in my step.

More importantly, it denied Granville the opportunity to indulge in one of his most favourite hobbies – picking holes in my “wasted” Wildcards.

Silenced by the Everton striker and early technical issues, Granville nonetheless returns to join myself, Jonty and Andy as we pick the bones out of Gameweek 4 and look ahead to the next.

With Lukaku and Diego Costa firing, this week’s raft of community questions are dominated by talk of going without Sergio Aguero or Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

I’m more than happy to add further fuel to that fire by testing an anti-Zlatan maverick theory, only to be shot down by my co-hosts.

Does Etienne Capoue present another route to packing cash in our forward lines?

Can Jonty really find a good reason to justify having Jason Puncheon?

Will Granville’s cat make an appearance?

You can get the answers to all this and more by tuning in.

Madness in the sense that you have that amount of money to do Gray -> Aguero. Hazard at home though, never underestimate him!

A bit. Do you have Costa? Also Hazard is kind of fixture proof at home and he is on pens. He also got points back in 3/4 of GWs this year. Looking like a season keeper to me.

I think so buddy. I'm considering losing both Haz & Ibra for Mane & Kun. I say this already as a Firmino owner and am looking to double up on Lpool.

It's just a very ballsy call to ditch BOTH of them at same time, considering their ownership especially.

      1. Musicholic
        • 9 Years
        9 years, 4 months ago

The fixtures make sense tbh. I dont see it that ballsy. When you have Sanchez, Antonio and Lukaku. Adding Lpool's players is a plus looking at their attacking front and their gameplay.

also doing these moves I believe provides a strong 4 man midfield, with Kun & Lukaku as your 2 prime strikers, and an overall better team/squad

This is correct but as Jose insists on playing the Pig then Pogba sits next to Fellani meaning the team is weaker. I'd back Watford to get 1

This is a question (mostly for Liverpool fans but anyone can answer)

In your honest opinion who do you think is a better footballer? (Not FPL wise or who you like more)

    Coutinho or Firmino

    1. A.T
      • 15 Years
      9 years, 4 months ago

      Cout

      1. Oven Glover

        Cout vs Mane? Thoughts?

    2. The Kolarov Mane ⚔
      • 13 Years
      9 years, 4 months ago

Same as Sanchez vs Ozil - one is explosive and on the day can dismember a team (Coutinho) the other is more consistent getting the points here and there (Firmino)

I am not saying they are direct comparisons, but the idea is there.

I personally would go with Firmino, Coutinho is ice cold or red hot, no real in-between.

      1. TheEgyptianKing
        • 10 Years
        9 years, 4 months ago

IMO , I love coutinho, but as a footballer i honestly think Firmino is a better footballer - very underrated he is amazing

    3. johnbarnes
      • 11 Years
      9 years, 4 months ago

Coutinho - by miles. FPL-wise, I'm not sure.

  16. Bullet Eder
    • 10 Years
    9 years, 4 months ago

The nagging voice in my head will not shut up about Firmino.

I need to get him in for this evening but it isn't possible with my Aguero plan next week, which requires two free transfers.

I chose Antonio and Cazorla ahead of him on wildcard, just because it made it easier to get Kun back, and it hasn't been a disaster so far.

But as soon as Kun returns, my priority will be Firmino.

Think he'll be the highest scoring midfielder in FPL this season and is also one of my favourite players in the league.

Arg I'm short of ideas to get a Liverpool mid and Aguero in soonish, anyone have any ideas?

    Foster (Pickford)
    Valencia - Willians - Collins / Evans / Amat
Hazard - Sanchez - Sterling - Antonia (Capoue)
    Inrahimovic - Zaza - Lukaku

    0.1itb, 0FT.

0.1 short of doing Sterling to Firmino..

  19. Joshua1
    • 11 Years
    9 years, 4 months ago

Hi all, i'm wildcarding and its got to the point where i need a second opinion. It comes down to 3-5-2 with Cazorla or 3-4-3 with benteke

A: Antonio Firmino Hazard Nolito Cazorla
Ibra Lukaku (becomes Aguero) Diomande (bench fodder)

B: Antonio Firmino Hazard Nolito Capoue (who I plan to keep benched)
    Ibra Lukaku Benteke

I don't normally go 3-5-2 but I'm considering as I don't see another viable way to arsenal coverage, at least for another 3 weeks. Thoughts?

    1. Jinswick
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

I'd go with B but switch Nolito -> Cazorla. Gives you 1.3m to play with. Nolito not nailed on for me.

      1. Joshua1
        • 11 Years
        9 years, 4 months ago

You're right that would be the sensible move. But I want a City mid tomorrow, it's even worth a +4 for me (in effect). Nolito seems the most assured to start. He'll move to Mane long term, see below

    2. Bullet Eder
      • 10 Years
      9 years, 4 months ago

With that option A, which midfielder would you downgrade to get Aguero? Nolito?

      1. Joshua1
        • 11 Years
        9 years, 4 months ago

The plan is to downgrade Hazard to Bolasie. I don't like it but Chelsea's fixtures are really pretty poor for the foreseeable.

I would then move Nolito to Mane to double on Liverpool - Nolito is a 2 week punt but i'm very positive about his prospects tomorrow. I feel like getting Cazorla now would give me license to do that as I don't need to think about Arsenal cover for that amazing run

I could get used to this Friday night football here in New Zealand.
7am Kick off.. cuppa coffee.. Sky Sports.
Normally it's getting up at 2am.. feeling rubbish all day with 3 year old running rings round me.

So we won't hear anymore about whether Shaw will or won't play?

Mourinho: “It is obvious that we left players like [Antonio] Valencia and [Luke] Shaw at home to play and to rest so we go back to a normal team without so many changes.”
