Dugout Discussion – Watford vs Man United

Sunday treats us to four matches, kicking off with a noon encounter at Vicarage Road between Watford and Man United.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic carries the armband hopes of many Fantasy managers heading into this one – the Swede narrowly topped this week’s Captain Poll off the back of four goals in as many matches.

Etienne Capoue has the chance to prove himself worthy of a fourth midfielder slot today. Having scored against Southampton, Chelsea and West Ham, the Frenchman is set for a favourable run of matches that could bring in the points.

Similarly, Odion Ighalo, Troy Deeney and Jose Holebas are also under the spotlight after all three got amongst the goals in last week’s comeback win over the Hammers.

    Sanchez first goal, Rom's ghost goal and now Capoue scoring when United should have got a free kick - It just proves that you can plan very well but the luck factor is huge in FPL

      That was not a free kick imo. Agree on the 2 other goals, although I did have Lukaku C but well if he touched it,he touched it, at least he tried to touch the bal, not like Sanchez just accidentally.

      I'm a united supporter and Watford being 1-0 was not unlucky. Did you see Ighalo's miss? That was lucky for United. Swings and roundabouts.

    If you're going to with Capoue as 4th mid I'd recommend having someone priced around 5-5.5m as the 5th mid because then you've got some flexibility to upgrade your midfield if Capoue stops producing. Therefore you won't be stuck with two 4.5m quality midfielders.

      Yup I agree although it will seem counter-intuitive benching a 5.5m player every week... especially if they are scoring points as well as Capoue.

    Capoue makes a power front three of Aguero, Lukaku, and Ibra affordable. Anyone else rolling with it? Can afford: 9.5, 8.5, 7.5, Capoue
    In midfield. Makes getting a premier midfielder (Sanchez, Hazard, or KDB) very difficult unless you make your 7.5 mid into Snodgrass

    One of the advantages we get from using this site is the access to stats that give us a better idea of what is likely/unlikely to happen in the future.

    Stats clearly suggested that Capoue couldn't keep this up and probably still do.

    With that in mind, fair play to you if you played him but don't be surprised if/when picking him as a fourth mid comes back to bite you.
