Saturday’s events draw to a close at the Emirates as two heavyweights collide in the tea-time kick-off.

Arsenal host Antonio Conte’s Chelsea as both sides bid to keep pace with a perfect Manchester City at the top of the table.

The big team news finds Cesc Fabregas back in the Blues line-up following his midweek brace in the EFL Cup – Oscar makes way.

Fantasy managers will be more concerned with the fortunes of Diego Costa, Eden Hazard and Alexis Sanchez.

Sanchez heads into the encounter with goals and confidence flowing, although worringly, he has failed to score in his last four league appearances in front of his home fans.

Costa has five goals for the season, notching in four of his five Gameweeks, while Hazard will be looking to break a run of two blanks having been sold by over 350,000 FPL managers ahead of Gameweek 6.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    What's your Capoue plan?

60% in the top 10K played him this week.
Will you just play him to keep up if he cleans up or bench him more often that not.
Don't like own he and Deeney as don't really see myself playing both unless AOA. 😕

Playing Deeney over him this week.

I played him this week for a first time, so if he scores he will be my 4th mid or play with 5 mids, if he blanks its easy, but will depend on fixtures.

Both look similarly solid but Valencia got Stoke next whereas Walker more chances of attacking returns/bonus

Maybe keep for this GW and decide later?

With Lukaku misfiring, Costa almost banned, Kane injured and Vardy looking off the pace I'm not sure who I would make a 3 man front line out of. Was planning to sell Zlatan and going 343, but I'd rather have 2 up and take the Arsenal/Liverpool mids.

And a ghost goal in the game before. It isn't bad of course, but it's not enough to tempt me into buying him. Forever the troll.

Liverpool and Arsenal look much better bets. Free scoring when on form, and they are certainly on form, with great fixtures too.

Pool and Arsenal just don't have forwards I can purchase. I only have a 2 man front line of Lukaku and Aguero and I still don't know who else to get.

            • 10 Years

That's my point, I want a 2 man front line, not three. I have Kun and Ibra and was planning to move back to 343, but there is nothing tempting me to sell Ibra for. I'd rather get Coutinho or upgrade for Sanchez and have triple Arsenal. Apologies for the lack of clarity, I'm going 352 due to the options in midfield and lack of up top.

and a crazy save off him as well today

He's a fantastic striker though. My only worry about him is that I've owned him for some 20 distinct stints in FPL, and he has almost unconditionally failed me.

Similar experience with him, I'm not sure I got a single return from him last year during the 2 spells I had him. Definitely clouds my judgement.

              • 12 Years

I have had him so many times just to get no returns and sold him right before he starts to fire, that I ended up doing this:

              http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2016/03/24/the-big-numbers-last-four-matches-midfield/?hc_page=14#hc_comment_12977622

I kept him for that whole time to bag no returns, but was saved by him missing one of those matches completely, so technically, I'm not obliged to not have him. But that certainly didn't make him more appealing for me.

I had him at the end of last season too, and for a 5 game stint nearer the start, I think he got one goal from at least ten total games. That is terrible luck though, if he didn't have City soon and had looked more convincing in the last two I'd be tempted. But not worth it when Ibra has Stoke next.

Rom's got a few pretty nice fixtures coming soon too though. Including the very next one against Palace. I could easily captain him for that. Which would probably be just enough to guarantee that he misses a penalty and gets sent off though.

Walker, Stones and Amat are all fit, right? I would save AOA for the moment when you can't field 3 defenders or only 3 defenders with horror fixtures. You do well not to lose points with that awful chip, and the best case for that is when you swap 0 points for your 8th attacker.

      1. SheBangsTheDrums
        • 11 Years

Yeah that's a good point actually! Who would you play out of Stones, Walker and Amat?

I have to admit they all have god awful fixture though... 😆

Maybe... I like the current Spurs at home, but I wouldn't bet against Pep's City scoring, so Stones. Better chance there.

Tbh, now that I look at it, AOA would also be reasonable. Just don't expect much from it. It's a crap chip. I might just play Stones over Snods.

Considering the aguero captain choice this week.

Looked through their previous 6 encounters in the league and there's mixed signals....

Obvious that there has been regular high scoring games, and we all remember the four goals from aguero in 2014!

But, of recent, their past three fixtures City haven't scored more than once in any of the games, and so far this season Tottenham are strong defensively again.....

2013 Man City vs Tottenham 6:0
2014 Tottenham vs Man City 1:5
2014 Man City vs Tottenham 4:1
2015 Tottenham vs Man City 0:1
2015 Tottenham vs Man City 4:1
2016 Man City vs Tottenham 1:2

    Just food for thought.....

        True.

I always tend to look into previous results. So like I said it's just food for thought.

I do think this is going to be a tough fixture for City though.... Tottenham are defensively strong. Big difference between Swansea and Tottenham.

            Agreed.

This could be one of those times I rarely won't captain aguero....

It's not a fixture that is exactly drawing me towards putting the armband on him for these exact reasons.

I might go Sanchez..... tough one....

Can't count gladbach as you don't know how they would do in the BPL...

So Man U is the only really tough fixture. Finished 1:2. Like Valencia said above, no KDB either......

Can't count it out really. Gladbach is a strong team. Although City were already strong against them last season. Still, not as strong as now. City has been dominating games in PL for years now, but this Pep's City is outrageously dominant.

I know what you mean by you can't count it out.

But I've got nothing to measure them on in comparison to the BPL because they haven't played here, so you don't actually know who they compare to in BPL.

Gladback would walk the league with most teams on here, they're a strong CL side.

You can't say that because you don't know that....

I don't think they are better than Liverpool, Chelsea, utd, Arsenal, Tottenham, city and maybe even Leicester. So that means already there are 6 teams better than them in this league.

                BPL to competitive.

These x player does well against y team stats are useless in a sport like baseball where there are a million games a year, let alone football where there are only 38. Captaining Aguero is never a bad choice because he is the best player in the league playing in the best team in the league but don't let those past games influence the decision.

I think those past games show how far Tottenham have come defensively over the past few years....

I think this is one of the weeks when I may overlook aguero as a captain option and choose Sanchez (c).

No doubt. I remember one year where they just capitulated in every big game, a bit like Man City last year.

I hate captaining people against my own team. I can't do it myself.....

But at least you shouldn't be disappointed, spurs win and your happy, spurs lose due to aguero scoring and your still secretly happy lol!

So, to get Sanchez in i have to go for Øzil + either Baines/Valencia to 4.5 def (not wba) or Benteke to 6,5 forward.
Or should I go Benteke to Either Rashford/Defoe and then Øzil + Baines/Valencia to Sanchez +

not sure why it got cut off half way. But it was suppose to be Sanchez +

What score do you expect in the Sun/WBA game? McAuley could easily get on the end of a corner.
