The Dugout Discussion – West Ham United vs Southampton

After Saturday treated us to eight matches and 29 goals, we have just a solitary fixture to focus our attentions on today.

West Ham welcome Southampton to the London Stadium as Slaven Bilic attempts to halt a run of three straight Premier League losses.

Both sides chalked up EFL Cup wins in midweek, yet while the Saints saw off Palace to rack up a third successive victory in all competitions, the Hammers had to rely on a last-minute free-kick from Dimitri Payet to see off Accrington Stanley.

With a pair of assists in each of the last two Gameweeks, the Frenchman has been in fine form since returning from injury.

Nonetheless, Payet has remained overlooked by many Fantasy managers due to the form of Michail Antonio, who has netted five times in four since being moved onto the flank.

With his defence in disarray, Bilic will be relying on that duo to get the better of a Saints side that have picked up a single point in their two road trips so far.

For the Saints, Nathan Redmond remains their most popular FPL asset despite a four-match barren streak, though Dusan Tadic is the form player heading into this one, having served up an assist in each of the last two Gameweeks.

Keep for the next 3 at least. This was the fixture he was bound to blank in. Southampton are tight.

Time to call it: Bet Against West Ham.
If you need to punt for one week, find someone who plays West Ham that week.
If torn between two options, pick the one who plays the Hammers first.

    It's time.

Is Austin really a viable option? No guarantees on starting position and fixtures aren't great.

How is that a trap? The only thing West Ham do is attack and he is their most likely scorer of goals and is worth 7m.

I just think the pitch is waaaaaay too big for how west ham want to play. Its like every player has his own island and its very hard to press effectively when theyre set up like that.

Not to say they dont lose away but arguably theyve played just as bad at home. This pitch need proper wide men. Cant play lanzini and payet at the same time. Thats too narrow.

Antonio in or out we thinking, a blank v boro and it's 2 FTs with Ibra and Antonio making way for Sanchez and rashford!
