Few players can compare to Sergio Aguero when it comes to punishing Fantasy Football managers.

So we should not be surprised by today’s 16-point haul – an emphatic message to the doubters who questioned his ability to deliver, amidst speculation on his pitch time and relationship with manager Pep Guardiola.

Aguero’s superb brace at the Hawthorns defied our preconceptions that this was a player low on confidence. His second, a sublime long-range curling effort, was typical of Aguero at his best, providing a chilling warning to those who now progress without him.

I’d personally been burned by a spiteful Aguero in the past – a factor which likely saved me from ejecting him prematurely.

Over the past two Gameweeks, almost 100,000 had decided on such a path – this evening they are left pondering the damage of that trade – not just as a result of today’s return, but also the points that could loom ahead of Manchester City’s obliging run of fixtures.

Middlesbrough are next at the Etihad, an opponent that recently proved stubborn at the Emirates and who earned a second successive clean sheet in today’s win over Bournemouth.

Many will now be praying for resistance from Aitor Karanka’s charges; hoping that City and Aguero are left weary by their midweek Champions League date with Barcelona, or even that Guardiola will risk stirring the pot by resting him from League action.

That seems unlikely.

The 4-0 win over West Brom saw City regain their mojo. The City boss will surely look to maintain momentum, with the League table hinting at the most competitive and open title race in memory.

Typically for a season now renowned for fickle fluctuation, in the space of seven days, things have turned on their heads: ignoring Aguero suddenly looks preposterous.

Certainly, there are no clear alternatives.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic again peppered the Old Trafford goal without reward against Burnley. Troy Deeney and Christian Benteke drew their third successive blanks, while Jermain Defoe lived off scraps and mustered a spot-kick in the defeat to Arsenal – his first goal in four outings.

Sunday will see both Romelu Lukaku and Diego Costa take their turn. Aguero already has a stronger points per match ratio than the latter, he’ll also surpass Lukaku should the Everton man dare to blank.

We await Harry Kane’s return and perhaps Arsene Wenger’s intentions with Olivier Giroud but, in all honesty, by the time they have established pitch time and form, Aguero will surely have taken further strides.

For all the funds we can pour into our midfield, there is currently no tu replacement for Aguero in attack and, with the majority of armbands set to head his way in Gameweek 11, we only risk further punishment by overlooking him.

A truly frightening prospect.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

So-so week, Mane should have put away 2 goals yesterday but such is life with the Liverpool midfield. Early thoughts on the following:

    Foster Jaku
    Kosc Pieters Francis Cathcart* Amat
    Sanchez Coutinho Mane Chadli Capoue
    Aguero Lukaku Deeney

    1 FT, 0.5 banked

    A) Deeney > Austin
    B) Cathcart > anyone 4.9m

I think it would be slightly ignorant to think this could be the case.

Surely Inter is a bigger test than Hull at home, and considering Austin has been first choice lately and in form, I don't think it's crazy to think he could start vs Inter.

Whilst some of the bigger clubs don't highly rate the EL, it is a great way for some of the lesser clubs to gain qualification into the CL. A chance they wouldn't usually get.

Austin is my target next gw also, so this is something to think about. My guess is a start in both matches with reduced minutes. Still should be enough minutes to hurt Hull hopefully.

What would u be thinking about next for this lot?
Think I might downgrade Coleman and then either upgrade a mid or Deeney or just save 1 ft.

    Have 2ft's.
    Pickford, Heaton
    Lovren, Holebas, Coleman, Walker, Amat.
    Lallana, Wally, Sànchez, Sterling, Whelen.
    Aguero, Lukaku, Deeney
    2ft, 0.2m in bank..

    My team below: 1.4ITB, 2FT
I feel that my team has a few problems but not too sure which is more important in the long run

    Stekelenburg Pickford
    Bellerin Morgan smith holebas amat
    Payet firmino mane Sanchez Allen
    Lukaku deeney Wilson

    1) Sanchez to KDB - would like some man c coverage + Sanchez with 2 tough fixtures and internationals coming. would get some Arsenal coverage (walcott or giroud) with payet over the coming weeks
    2) Stekelenburg to heaton - do it before price rise and also due to tough Everton fixtures. I am ok waiting for butland return too
    3) deeney to slimani (or other strikers) - poor form and don't see him scoring next few weeks
    4) amat to another defender
    5) lukaku to slimani (or wait for kane or aguero (after international)

I am leaning towards 1 and 3 or 2. Amat can wait I suppose and lukaku might be fixture proof (his underlying stats bother me though)

    Coutinho | Firmino | *Sterling | *Sanchez | *Marney

But ultimately, you made the choices you made because YOU thought they were the best decisions at the time.

Not as bad as you may think. Liverpool are bad at set pieces and cant keep cleanies. Holebas takes free kicks and corners. So he is a no brainer. Arsenal Tottenham could be 0-0 or 4-4, so a gamble on Vertonghen but he seemed dangerous on set pieces now that Alderweireld is out.

Hey guys how did Clyne look? Creating much? Sick of Liverpool not keeping cleanies. Well done Lovren owners though

Don't get Lovrens lack of popularity. If you are going Liverpool defence it has to be him at the prices imho.

Nathaniel "Blank" Clyne looked like he would live up to his name and did

Got 1.6 ITB and 1 FT.

    A) Son > Mahrez
    B) Deeney to someone else

Haven't seen Leicester since their game against Chelsea. How're they doing? Mahrez been creating lately?

Wise move. Leicesters fixtures look great and they look to be improving. CL distraction a concern.

Precisely, but I don't want to spend so much on Mahrez without any returns when I could possibly double up on Coutinho and Firmi. Thoughts?

Difficult. I would want Firmino and Coutinho first. Mahrez looks a good replacement for the likes of Sterling etc.

      Walcott -----> Redmond

Then assess who to upgrade Diamonde to over Int. Break

What's your team? I'd give Ibra one last chance vs Swansea then assess over Int. Break

    1. Walker vs ARS- A
    2. Bellerin vs TOT - H
    3. Koscienly vs TOT- H
    4. Holebas vs Liv - A

Thought I would have had a higher GW rank took wally out for coutinho, but didn't captain aguero. Plenty of dead wood to shift in my team now

Leicester has good fixtures, whats the go with Musa? He's only 7.0m. I assume rotation threat etc etc but I'm not sure where he stands in the pecking order in that team. Could anyone please share some insight?
    Cheers

Raineri has said he was holding him back from starting until he thought he was ready for Premiership action. I think he will get a lot more starts from now on.

They have Vardy, Slimani, Okazaki and Musa

Vardy first choice, but that now involves being rested for Champions League, but they're almost qualified. Once they are he's nailed again.

The other striker is one from three. Was Slimani nailed but he's poor except in the air.

Okazaki in when hard work, determination needed

Musa when pace and flair needed

I.e..........don't get a Leicester striker till someone forces Ranieri to make em nailed 2nd striker
