Our latest captain poll has now launched to assess your thoughts on the optimum armband options for Gameweek 11.

Nine out of ten of those who voted in our last poll for Gameweek 10 dismissed Sergio Aguero (13.0) as a viable captain. With a brace and assist away to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, many won’t be making the same mistake this time around.

An Etihad meeting with Middlesbrough is expected to see the Manchester City striker dominate this week’s poll, after he so cruelly punished the 100,000 Fantasy Premier League managers that ditched him in the previous two Gameweeks. Already 50,000 have moved to acquire the Argentine ahead of the weekend.

Aguero’s team-mate Kevin De Bruyne (10.7) offers a solid alternative. Back from injury, he supplied the killer pass for City’s fourth goal on Saturday from a cameo role off the bench. That was the 9.0% owned midfielder’s seventh assist of the season, the highest tally of any player so far; he looks set to start against ‘Boro ahead of the international break.

A word of caution, though, as the Teesside team may not be as obliging as West Brom. Aitor Karanka’s troops have conceded just twice and kept two clean sheets over their last four league fixtures – one of them at the Emirates.

Interest in another star of Gameweek 10, Alexis Sanchez (11.4), may be muted this week, with a tough North London derby clash with Tottenham Hotspur beckoning.

Despite the 24.9% owned Chilean’s brace away at Sunderland, Spurs will present a far sterner test. Like ‘Boro, they boast a defence that has conceded just twice in their last four outings.

Another London club provide two options that will surely tempt consideration.

With three goals and an assist over his last trio of matches, Chelsea’s Eden Hazard (9.9) looks to be back to his best, flourishing in Antonio Conte’s 3-4-3 formation. It would be no surprise to see the 19.9% owned Belgian pushing Aguero for top spot this week ahead of Everton’s visit to Stamford Bridge.

Meanwhile, his team-mate Diego Costa (10.4) has also proved a revelation, topping the scoring charts with eight goals and providing just two blanks over his ten Gameweeks.

The 38.2% owned Spain international has also crushed the notion he cannot earn bonus points, accruing seven to this point.

Liverpool present a raft of alternative candidates when Watford visit Anfield.

Philippe Coutinho (8.5) brought his season assist tally to five at the weekend and has also found the net on four occasions.

Roberto Firmino (8.6) is just eight FPL points behind him and another Red to offer consistent returns. The “false nine” has delivered attacking returns in three of his last four Gameweeks.

With 34 FPL points across his previous four Anfield matches, Sadio Mane (9.0) is another armband candidate from Liverpool’s fluid attacking midfield. Of the trio, Coutinho is by far the most popular, commanding a 40.9% ownership, more than any other midfielder.

Two south coast teams offer some left-field options thanks to kind match-ups in Gameweek 11.

Hull City showed spirit in the 1-0 defeat to Watford but may struggle to keep Southampton at bay at the KCOM Stadium.

The Saints’ Charlie Austin (6.6) presents a differential option for the trip to Humberside. The 12% owned striker has scored four times since claiming a starting role in Gameweek 5.

With four goals shipped at home to Arsenal on Saturday, Sunderland’s defence remains in an obliging mood.

Their visit to Bournemouth presents Cherries forward Callum Wilson (6.6) with a good opportunity of adding to his three-goal tally, all of which have been scored at the Vitality Stadium.

We will be back to check in on progress in the poll later this week, as we deliver our “Captain Sensible” article offering our view of the results and the statistics behind the leading contenders.

Best replacement for Valencia ?? Already have Mustafi, WIlliams, Stones & Amat.
In truth I'm not best pleased with any of the ones I already have so I can't afford to have a another duffer.

    Thoughts? Fonte/VVD/other?

Spurs fixtures are a bit up and down over the next handful of games.
Chelsea have some difficult ones too.

I like the thought of Fuchs potentially.

Next fixtures: Watford, Southampton, Sunderland, Bournemouth, West Ham, Boro, Everton, Stoke....

I'm a liverpool fan and I wouldn't touch Lovren. He was brutal the other night apart from his goal which just about made up for things. Still too leaky at the back but thankfully we will outscore most teams.

        Coutinho / Lallana / Sanchez / (Capoue / Hojbjerg)

Really struggling with the 3rd striker position.. have Aguero and Lukaku obviously..

How much are you guys investing in strikers? My prefered option would be Costa but he is expensive..

The options as I see now is Austin, Musa, Giroud(?) and Wilson.. Maybe Negredo later?

Can you cast your eyes over my team and let me know any suggestions chaps? There's a lot I want to do but not sure what to go for. I have 2FTs to use.

    Foster
    Kosc, Pieters, Holebas
    Sterling*, Walcott*, Mane, Firmino
    Aguero, Lukaku, Deeney*

    Pickford-- Valencia*, Amat*, Capoue*.... 0.4ITB

The stars represent those on the tight rope of wanting rid. Quite a few of them...

No Sanchez is an issue. Also fancy Hazard, a Leicester def, Charlie Austin. The possibilities are endless. Willing to take hits this week I think.

Why do you want rid of Capoue if you never play him?

      Deeney > Austin deffo.

He's dropping in price to getting rid for a 4.3m fodder would free up valuable funds, but I just dont really have the luxury of doing that right now

Valencia and Capoue out to a 4.5 and 4.3 respectively, generates about 2m and then reassess next week or take a -4 and get Hazard?

Think you can possibly afford to hold Sterling and Walcott another week. Chelsea playing Everton not that easy a game.

Valencia Capoue > Pieters Hojbjerg should release some funds, not sure if enough for Sterling > Hazard though

Not aware of a good 4.5 but if you can find one you're halfway through for Hazard

KDB and Aggy the men to have from City.

Will play deeper when KDB plays from the start.

FPL doesnt seem to allow leagues to be filtered by quarters any more.

Can anyone remember the GW divides please?

    Was it this?

    Q1: 10 GWs
    Q2: 9 GWs
    Q3: 10 GWs
    Q4: 9 GWs

I'm not overly worried that I have no Chelsea attackers but they seem to have fixed their issues and no Europe means less fatigue and rotation, so I guess I will get one at some point. I don't know how though. Any ideas?

Used both transfers this week.. Just ride it out with the team now or do something about defense or walcott? 0.4m ITB.. AOA if Walcott is fit?

    Karius

    Lovren Stones Kingsley

    Sanchez Sterling Coutinho Allen

    Aguero Lukaku Austin

    Jaku Walcott Holebas Amat

I have exactly the same problem. With 3-5-2 Costa is not an option unless Kun or Lukaku gets injured, and simply not enough funds for Walcott/Firmino > Hazard.

I was exploring this..and could do for -4 after international break but my defence looks abit light..

      Heaton jaku
      Mcauley lovren pieters a.smith amat
      Sanchez hazard firmino coutinho 4.3
      Aguero lukaku austin

For me its narrowed down to kosc/alli or pieters/hazard..and im leaning towards the former..

Want to upgrade Son and Vertonghen, have 1.5m ITB. Rage transferred Deeney out for Austin after the Sat game. So will have to take a hit if I do it this week. I'm ok to do it over the coming weeks unless there is a pressing reason to do so for this Saturday. Current thinking is Fuchs and Siggy, both Leicester and Swansea are about to embark on a fairly nice run.

Are there any better options out there?

    Heaton - Pickford
Kos - Vertonghen (Fuchs?) - Holebas - Smith - Amat
Firmino - Coutinho - Walcott - Son (Siggy?) -Hojberg
    Aguero - Lukaku - Austin

    1.5m ITB, 0FT

I have swapped him out for Coutinho knowing that Coutinho will probably double rise this week and Theo will drop.

I don't know what I expect out of the next two weeks for Arsenal, could be anything at all

    Okay, think I've settled on:

Ozil, Bellerin, Deeney > KDB, Fuchs, Austin (-4)

    Giving:
    Foster
Fuchs, A.Smith, McAuley (Vertonghen first sub)
    Alexis, KDB, Coutinho, Antonio, Bolasie
    Kun, Austin

I'll keep Bolasie despite Chelsea this week, and ditch Antonio (prob for Chadli) after he plays Stoke this coming week. Eventually ditching KDB to Firmino and using the cash to upgrade elsewhere. Sorted?

Get Hazard instead and save the money and a future trade.

I don't get the Fuchs love. Get Alonso.

I'm planning to wait for GW15 to get in Chelsea players, might be a mistake, but I'm trying to go with who's teams are in form and have good fixtures coming right now. Having to face Spurs and City puts me off big time. Leicester have a great run through to January, I do like the look of Alonso, but again plan to wait for GW15. I can see Hazard coming back into my team, but Everton, Boro and Spuds all have solid defences and they're in his next 4 opponents. City is arguably the shakiest defence Hazard will face.

I can't turn down KDB vs. Mid, Pal, Bur in the next 3.

Further rationale: SOT have great fixtures, I'd keep Austin right through until Feb (injury permitting, Redmond might be a great 5th mid option in for Bolasie further down the line). Leicester have a great run and Fuchs is nailed, his only cover (Chilwell) is injured.

My main reservation is not doubling on Liverpool mids, but I think KDB is worth it vs. Mid, Pal, Bur in the next 3.
