Our first members article of the week delves into the Gameweek 10 data. We take time to assess the recent ascent of Joe Allen and Eden Hazard and analyse the City and United attacks, before casting an eye over Bournemouth’s improving playmaker and Tottenham’s raiding left-back.
GK: Dea (Valdes)
DEF:Stones, VanDijk, Morgan ( Evans, Williams)
MID: Sanches, Firmino, KDB, Gundagon, Redmond
STR: Lukaku, Wilson (Benteke)
brought in Evans, KDB and Gundogan (-4)
for Walcott, Lallana and valencia
so i think its an improvementYou after a medal?
I've seen this a lot lately. 🙂
Don't stress over it now as the transfers are made.Looks good to me.
Anyone thinking about Evans, KDB and Gundogan in for Walcott, Lallana and Valencia?
I'd have to take a -4...but it looks like an improvement, no?Oh you are! Good, how does it feel?
I think its an improvement
Who should make way for KDB out of Payet and Eriksen? Really torn on this one
Erik send easily
Even with Payets fixtures?
He is fixture proof and is doing what Erik is not....getting points even with how poor they have been
Ironically I'm doing Payet to KDB but just think Eriksen a bit pants fpl wise
Erik for sure
eriksen
If you can have KDB and Payet you are laughing imo.
Capoue to lallana
yay or nay?Sorry for a hit**
nay
lloris
bellerin* Pieters Holebas Clyne Amat
Payet Arnie* Firmino Coutinho Hazard
Lukaku Tekkers
1ft 1.4 itb
A. bellerin and arnie to 4.5 and KDB (-4)
or
b. Arnie to chadli (then payet to kdb next week)
or
c. other
* yeah i don't have sanchez/kun* 😀I'd get kdb this week and chadli next week
A then ?
or payet to kdb and play holebas (keep arnie)Payet to KdB. Play Holebas.
Arnie to Chadli next week. Before the season started, Payet was the only player I knew I wanted to have for the entire season but the plethora of cheaper, performing midfield options this season has increased my expectations of him at his price. I'll be keeping an eye on him over the next 5 weeks and will reassess then
i agree many cheaper options are doing well but before stoke at home may backfire .... will wait for bellerin news (it may force me to take a hit)
cheers mate!True. Good luck!
Thinking A. But I will have Bellerin and KDB all season I think. KDB and Payet in mid looks so good. Wtf is he doing at hammers. And wtf happen to them anyway always though Bilic such good management material. Maybe just blip or maybe needs to spend some bucks at the back?
bellerin may be out ?! may do amat and payet to kdb and playable defender (if i wanted to keep bellerin but that means that i keep arnie too)
i think they will do well when ayew/carroll and cresswell all back (fully fit) and when billic fix that defence .... he is a great manager, i like himAgree on Bilic hope he turns it around. Not sure on Bellerin. Want to keep him but I keep looking at what the cash savings could get me up front.
cheers
Well done Gun on your really unexpected rise.
Here's a tribute to you (warning: young people might find a bit dated)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9yDoYRRBYYWith a back line of Shaw Coleman Stones Amat Souare should I play safe and use AOA?
shaw coleman and stones should be fine
Seen people today calling Allen the next Capoue.
1st for mids SoT in last 4 weeks. Capoue never had those kind of numbersAllen is a decent pick it's more that Stoke ain't great
i agree ... allen looks more sharp
allen defo. is better than capoue as 4th midf.Dude we are both pool fans. Allen long term really? I could score more playing no 10.
for next 5/6 games a 4th mildf. that always involves and on form , also for only 5.2m .. nothing wrong with it !
but for long term (rest of the season/next 10 or 15 games) i agree i doubt he will continue like thatYeah short term
Punt while on form yeah. And no I would not score as many at No 10 for Barca 🙂Knees getting a bit dodgy.
😀
Were they the same people who didn't believe the warnings about Capoue in September?
How's about Bony? Been there done that not like Allen could really kick on no he got a goal or two. Not like I was Geri g rid if he blanked agai this week or anything like that ...
Geri g means ginger spice or getting
Aye, Allen is a much better prospect than Capoue. How much better? Time will tell.
Working night shifts is more dangerous than getting in half cut on a Saturday morning...
A) Foster & Payet > Heaton & Hazard -4
B) Foster, Valencia & Walcott > Heaton, 4m def & Hazard -8
C) Foster & Walcott > Heaton & Gundogan -4Foster -> Heaton is not worth a -4 imo
Over the course of the season?
A or C for me. It depends on Walcott.
cheers both
i think getting rid before stoke at home is wrong ... i want kdb as i have hazard but payet may explode !!!
agree with SM foster to heaton doesn't worth the hit .
Dea, Stones, VanDujk, Morgan
4 clean sheets i would suspectWhen you suspect 4, you get 0
Do we think that Heaton is this seasons Butland?
Heaton is this season's Heaton.
Ha this.
Thanks, can't buy input like that, invaluable stuff
Glad you found it helpful.
Heston is this seasons De Gea
Charlton or Blumenthal?
Charlton mate. Blumenthal plays for Bayern.
Cameron expected to be fit and start for Stoke?
In the last 4 PL GWs, Gundogan has 7 shots, 6 pen area touches and 9 created chances. Quite decent numbers, especially at 5.5m, but I still think it will end in "tears". Pep's setups are mercurial, and his two braces involved 3 tap-ins and a Foster error:

Fantastic IRL player but eh..not sure yet in FPL.especially for a hit...
Aren't tap ins the most sustainable type of goals? Surely it's a good thing if he's getting far enough upfield to benefit from them
Yes it is definitely a good thing that he's getting into those positions but with his qualities on the ball I'm not convinced he'll routinely be leveraged in such an advanced position. At that price, I can see why some are thoughtfully gambling, but I do think many are simply points chasing and some even have no idea what role he played in the past at Dortmund.
Yeah, I'm not going to say he's not the real deal, especially based on his past performances at another club in a different role, but I'm going the cautious path and will wait to see more.
He'll still be a bargain at 6 or even 6.5mil if he continues this form. No need to rush imo.
Walcott to hazard for - 4?
if wally is out .. yep
ONLY if Walcott is out for sure. If not, not a chance you should take a hit for that. How quickly people forget that he was the most on form player in the game just two weeks ago.
Any point in going Mane over Coutinho or is it being too clever? Thinking because there's international week around the corner and Coutinho to be rested GW12?
As much as I want Mane and don't want Cout. Went Cout price difference and ownership made the decision over logic.
I have both Mane and Coutinho
Already have Firmino and doubling up.
Only one question that matters for me right now it is lose Sanchez or Walcott who they go go to is kinda irrelevant it is more about points potential and cost. Thoughts?
Yep, racking my brain atm on this
walcott for me
As long as Sanchez is playing up front he's staying in my team
There is no rush to sell Sanchez. His price is such that he can be downgraded to any mid in the game and he has 6 goals and 4 assists in his last 7 PL starts and 2 goals and 2 assists in his last 3 CL matches.
People are just obsessed with points-chasing, even following a brace, apparently. It's crazy. This season is crazy.
Indeed it is, been a point chasing & fear-mongering extravaganza
Sanchez is dynamite. End of. But patience is required.
I'd like to see what his longest run of FPL blanks was ....Pretty sure it was last season because I owned him during it and sold just before he started scoring again in late Spring! 😆
Thanks all consensus seems to be to not lose Sanchez, as I have already lost Kun with what appears to be the greatest hit of all time I tend to agree.
That's sarcasm for people who don't get sarcasm. Maybe its sardonic - don't know could never tell the difference - especially if someone was being scarcastic or sardonic.
Hi guys,
Heaton pickford
Mustafi Lovren Mcauley Amat Valencia
Sanchez Firmino Sterling Capoue Shaqiri
Kun Austin Benteke
1FT, 1.3 itb
Valencia -> Fuchs or Stoke def?
Ship Shaqiri out this week for -4?
Any other advice for this team in the upcoming weeks?i would try to fit hazard in my team asap ... may be capoue and sterling to hazard and anyone ?
this if shaqiri/valencia are out ..
aren't* . i have to sleep 😀
Thanks for your help!!
What would you do with this lot?
Pickford Jaku
Lovren Walker Holebas Evans Amat
Sanchez Sterling Coutinho Firmino Fletcher
Aguero Lukaku Deeney
1 FT, 0.1 in bank
CheersDoes Deeney>Austin give you money ITB to do Jaku>Heaton/Bourc in the future?
Nope, GK is a likely hit sooner or later.
Maybe change Deeney or save, Save probably, because if Deeney blanks it probably means Lovren has clean shet
Jaku Heaton the other option
No funds.
great OR tm .. you may win it for us this year or the 1st in mod. league (facer i think ?)
deeney to austin
and jaku to heaton (if affordable)
there's noway to do sterling to hazard without -8 unfortunetly !Cheers, can't afford.
Yep Facer is killing it.
I would probably do Deeney-->Austin just
Likely cause of action. Paying 0.1 more to see if he plays midweek.
Deeney to Austin after the EL matches, or save IMO.
That GK combo still has some mileage on it as Pickford has (bou, HUL) next. But I'd look at upgrading Pickford to a 4.6er soon tbh, probably the weakest poor in your squad right now along with Deeney.*weakest spots
Cheers, Mannone may be back after the break so will need to address soon.
Meant upgrading Jaku there btw.
Thought so. Baines killed my WC 🙁
You've still got a great rank though, a lot do good options now in defense as well
True, Kosc and/or Heaton could have been there a few weeks ago. Not really a fan of Walker but need to make the most of what I have.
Great start yourself.Yeah, Spurs have one hell of a tough run from here until December. Very congested schedule. Probably looking at either Cedric or Fuchs to replace him soon.
We've both been pretty lucky looks like 😉What transfers have you made this week?
Just did Deeney & Son, out for Austin & Coutinho. Had to it early or else I was priced out. Shaq is a worry now though.
Makes sense after looking at your team. Hopefully you'll get good news regarding Shaq this week. Guess you are looking at losing Walker and maybe Shaq soon?
Thanks, & yeah, those are the most expendable in there for sure.
Cheers all for looking at my outdated team.
Missed the price changes.... 🙁
I wanted to do Antonio + Deeney --> Gundogan + Austin for -4pts.
It is probably not worth it for a hit though, should i do only 1 this week. If so, which one?it's not that I'm against selling Antonio it's that I'm not convinced that Gundogan is worth a hit
Deeney to Austin is the one to make, I think.
Guess that was for me.
It was actually a failed response to Freemlan.
Same difference 🙂
Ha. Now that I look at your post, yeah, it's probably the same move 🙂
The only other things to look at include getting in Fuchs or Alonso for Lovren or Walker once the Deeney to Austin move is made, but that's more something to monitor.Walker looks the one to go. This article is interesting about him and maybe Kane will make him better.
I might need to sort out Amat if the loss doesn't sway Bradley towards playing him again
.........................Pickford
.........Koscielny - Holebas - Clyne
Redmond - Sanchez - Coutinho - Mane
............Austin - Aguero - Lukaku
Foster; Amat, De Roon, Evans
tempted by a Cout/Mane cap though Aguero is hard to ignore on his/City's form and Austin could always be the gameweek's big winner..You'll be fine playing with those 4 defs.
I mean more that he could needlessly plummet in value whilst in my team.
52% atm.
will monitor over coming weeks
It's always the weeks that you feel really good about your team that you have the crappest of scores.
With that, how's this looking for an AOA (if Walcott is healthy):
Heaton
Clyne - Fuchs
Sanchez - Mane - Firmino - Walcott - Gundogan
Aguero (C) - Austin - Wilson
Bench: Pickford - Holebas - Amat - Kone
That's 10 of the 11 starters playing at home, and the other one (Austin) playing Hull. Again, this is bound to fail miserably, right?Worth a try.
Be lucky if you get 20 always the way it goes. Certainly this season anyway.
Seriously that looks tasty.
Looks awesome.
Thanks. This is the last chance saloon for Wilson. If he can't score at home to Sunderland it'll be time to switch to Rondon for a few weeks or figure out a way to bring in Lukaku. But this is as good a week as any to try out the (rarely effective, and sometimes detrimental) AOA, I think.
It always seems on the rare occasions that I get to top 1 or 2 k I have a missive brain fart but statistics would indicate staying there is pretty hard. What ye think fart or stats / random chance.
Missive is a word I think but forget what it means. Is it like a letter in the olden days or something?

Are you getting involved?
I'm building a team if your keen to join team Le GodYeah count me in. See below with your 105. Buy buy buy Capoue now!!
jpr2079@gmail.com send me a email I've setup a whatsup group 🙂
Sold last week for Coutinho 😎
Thanks. Will get in touch before GW12. On holiday can't access email it is suspicious activity from unusual location.
Enjoy
Is Ozil and Mane to Hazard and Coutinho worth -4?
Cheers!Maybe Ozil to Coutinho for free? Might be a bit of too many eggs though.
Cheers!
Keep Mane
This. Mane is bound to have a hat trick soon. Mane to Coutinho is too sideways for me. Hopefully you can find another way to get Hazard in.
Thanks!
dont now what to do with my defs
GK Grant, Jakupovich
Walker Azpi Shaw Holebas
1. Azpi>Fuchs + Walker>Smith
2. Azpi>Fuchs + Jakup>Heaton and made him main keeper (afraid
Butlend subs Grant)
which move will be the best?I would be tempted to shift Shaw next week rather than Azpi this week.
I'd be looking at Shaw to Fuchs or Shaw to Alonso (if you have the spare cash).
If you are determined to make two moves, then Walker to Fuchs and Jaku to Heaton looks good.
So who are all the people here right now that broke the ton this week? Hate ye in advance by the way . Just want to know so I can tell ye to get Capoue over KDB in future
O/
Only just 101
Same as you then!
I have 2ft's & 0.0itb & will probably do these transfers. I'm waiting on the Leicester game before committing:
Bellerin & Walcott out - Fuchs & Coutinho in. Leaves 0.4itb.
Foster
Fuchs, Smith, Holebas
Sanchez, Coutinho, Firmino, Allen
Aguero (c), Costa, Lukaku
Jaku, Capoue, Pieters, Amat
Anything worth a hit or gtg.
Thoughts & thanks.I would do the first one only. You will be happy to have 2FT during international break and Walcott should be fine for this weekend.
Best 7.5 and under mid?
Gungadin
Allen or Redmond, imo.
or Shaq if deemed fit.
Siggy.
Redmond if he stays OOP. They have wonderful fixtures until GW 25.
Lallana is another option if you are not already doubled up with Pool mids in which case I think it is too much.
Allen as a benched 5th, but I don't expect that is the case with the value.
The jury is still out on Gundogan. Chadli is another short term punt.
I thought in would be fun to delve into the progress of my team from last year to give myself faith that I could still get a good OR this season. But very discouraging to see that I was in the top 100K at this point last year. Already had 5 red arrows this year compared to 9 the entire last season. Also only took 4 hits last season compared to this year's 5 already.
The fun thing is that my (miserable) little less than 500 points this year has me at 800K OR, while the 25ish points more last year had me at an OR around 100K.
Not the encouragement I was hoping for, so I guess I have my work cut out for me! Anyone else have more encouraging stats from previous years to give me hope?I was 220K in GW10 and finished 20K. 86 points better off and 8.5K so far. Smashing the DGW can make up for 36 average GWs.
Thanks. Fun to hear about other's history.
Yeah I know the DGWs can really help you a lot. But still I got 107 and 146 in last year's double game weeks, but when you enter the top, the difference isn't that big because everyone up there will use them. For example GW 36 took me from 11-7K with only 58 points, while DGW 37 took me from 7->3K with 107 points.
I can't find those details, can't seem to click into previous seasons, but I do remember being somewhere around the 3mill mark early-ish on and finished top 1000. Chin up.
Wow very nice work and very nice rank! Yeah (hopefully) I can shave off a lot of those 800Ks with consistent good rounds.
Went from 500k around gw28 to finish 18k. Had 9 greens in a row. Had 112.5 TV by time of gw30 wildcard. That helped.
Holy shish kebab what a TV! and a very impressive comeback.
I've always been horrible at hoarding value, as I tend to get very stubborn with a few underperforming players throughout the seasons, who just sheds value. My final TV was only 104,8 last season and finished just outside the top 5K.
Guess it won't be possible this yeah with all the heavy hitters actually performing.
I) Play Holebas (liv) or Pieters (whu)?
II) Play Foster (lei) or Pickford (bou)?
Currently on Holebas as he carries assist threat, but even if he gets an assist, it's likely he'll get at least -1 for two goals conceded, maybe even -2 for four goals conceded. Therefore no bonus. Can't see Stoke keeping us out but don't think we'll score as much as 'pool.
Currently on Foster as I'm just sick of Pickford and SUN. However, Sunderland do have the better paper fixture.
Thanks in advance for replies, dozing off Zzzzzz.I'd pick Pieters and Pickford, the alliteration is an added bonus.
Pieters and Pickford I think
Would go for Holebas based on attacking threat and Pickford for save points. I would "risk" the extra -1 for the higher possibility of an assist or a goal.
I don't expect either of the 4 to get clean sheets though, but I expect a tough defensive week for a lot of managers here..Holebas and Foster for me, for the reasons you stated. Holebas has so much more attacking threat, and Pool continue to give up goals for fun. And Foster just because Pickford, well, yeah (I have him too and finally gave in and picked up Heaton this week...I just couldn't take another week of it).
Southampton playing Inter just less than 3 full days before Hull so is it best to wait to get Austin in? Huge game for them actually also considering how tight that group is. Who has been playing up front for them in Europe?
Austin hasn't started I think. Only subbed on
Austin started the first group game- you may recall it was the game where he insisted on taking the penalty over Tadic
Since then Long has started both- but he is injured. With j Rod also likely out, and given the need for a positive result I would be surprised if Austin didn't start against Inter
What bearing that has on the hull game remains to be seen I suppose
Started against Sparta Prague and scored twice. Not involved against Hapoel and on as a sub against Inter.
