As the hours tick down to another Gameweek deadline, it’s time to delve into the data in our next members article of the week.

We get underway by analysing the main contenders in this week’s Captain Poll, then assess the Opta numbers and Rate My Team rankings before suggesting some differentials to help solve your armband conundrum.

The Captain Poll

Sergio Aguero is the runaway winner of this week’s Captain Poll as Man City prepare to host Middlesbrough at the Etihad.

After we’d dared to question his armband credentials, the Argentine returned to form in emphatic fashion, serving up two goals and an assist at the Hawthorns last weekend.

Over 66% of voters are favouring Aguero, who has, somewhat surprisingly, scored just one goal in four home outings. ‘Boro have also stepped up their resilience and roll up on the back of successive clean sheets, including one at the Emirates in their previous road trip.

Kevin De Bruyne could be a deadly differential with just 3% backing. The Belgian has delivered FPL returns in six of nine appearances, though has managed just a goal and two assists at the Etihad.

Philippe Coutinho (5%) takes second spot after upping his consistency in recent weeks.

The Liverpool midfielder entertains Watford in fine form, producing points in four of the last six league outings, and is looking for his third double-figure haul in four at Anfield.

Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane are favoured by around 1%.

The former has been more consistent, with a goal or assist in three of the last four, yet Mane’s home displays may be worth considering – he has returned 34 points in four appearances in front of his own fans.

Alexis Sanchez and Eden Hazard’s recent fine form has failed to convince.

Only 2% are willing to opt for the Chilean ahead of the north London derby. A return to the flank in midweek is a concern for a player who has scored just one of his six goals at the Emirates this season, though he’s expected to lead the line at the expense of Olivier Giroud on Sunday.

Hazard has now netted in three successive Gameweeks and hosts an Everton defence with one clean sheet in six.

Subject to heavy investment this week, the Chelsea wide man been far more reliable at the Bridge – Hazard has scored in four of five top-flight appearances at the Bridge under Antonio Conte.

Chelsea’s run of four straight shut-outs means that less than 1% are prepared to gamble on Romelu Lukaku against his former club, while Diego Costa is also very much overlooked, despite serving up points in eight of the opening 10 Gameweeks.

    Mandanda
    Stones, Coleman, Pieters,
    Sanchez, Walcott, Allen, Firmino
    Wilson, Zlatan, Aguero

    (Pickford, Puncheon, Evans, Britos)

Save? Decided to keep Zlatan for the Swansea game. Other move considered was to shift Puncheon

Cheers for the responses lads. I seem to be taking hits every week so im going to go with Redmond as he has good fixtures for the next 10 gameweeks or so albeit having two tricky fixtures in the near future whilst Allen has amazing fixtures but only for the next 4 meaning i would probably get him out in a few weeks. So cutting back on the hits by going Redmond and added to that the OOP sways it for me

        No it wouldn't imo.

I honestly won't be surprised if Deeney matches Austins points over the next 4/5 games.

I will end up getting Austin tonight as I think points are coming v Hull, but wouldn't be doing it for a hit

I have Deeney and have consider a hit for Austin, however, Liverpool cant keep clean sheets so ill hold for another week. With Lovren and co around Watford might even get a peno. They suit playing counter attack, like they played against United

    10. Krul Runnings
      • 10 Years

      E. Woudnt be taking a hit for a anther keeper who is only a temporary solution.

    11. RVP fc
      • 13 Years
      9 years, 3 months ago

I would avoid the hit. Zieler is only in for a few weeks so is a transfer waiting to happen. I think Holebas is a good option in any game with his attacking threat. I think Fuchs is a great option and may outscore Walker short term. However I assume you got walker in cheaply and given spurs are probably the best defensive team in the league I would be reluctant to get rid.

Thanks everyone I'm gonna sleep over it I think then.

Valencia is not in danger of going down and Fuchs of going up I think.

Really? for a -4? Wouldn't I be better getting rid of Valencia above all?

God, not sure what to do with my transfers this week
      DDG, Jaku
      Williams, Lovren, McAuley, Smith, Amat
      Sanchez, Walcott, Firmino, Coutinho, Capoue
      Aguero, Lukaku, Diomonde.

Defence needs work, I want KdB, I want Hazard, I want someone decent for Diomonde or otherwise I want a better fifth mid than Capoue but yet I'm reluctant to ditch any of the other midfielders. Only 0.4 itb, but 2 FT.

      In short...help!

2FT could come in handy after the international break.

The way it looks, maybe that defense can stand one more week.

        Walcott+Luka to Austin+Hazard?
        Diomande+Walcott to Gundogan+Austin/Wilson?

        Hard choices

It looks like you haven't spread you're money too well. A bit too much money I'm defence for me.
You could do Walcott -> Redmond / Allen/ Gundogan (whoever is flavour of the month) and Diamonde -> Austin if you can afford it?

        Do you have WC still?

      Pickford
      Walker Holebas Pieters
      Cout Firm Wally Allen
      Lukaku Aguero Costa

      Foster Capoue McAuley Amat

      1FT. 1.8ITB.
Might be real boring and do either McAuley to Alonso or Amat to Fuchs.

West Broms fixtures turn for the better after this week and Amat isn't starting. Amat -Fuchs.

Is all out attack worth using to accommodate wally over Williams this week? Keep in mind he may be injured and he is against Spurs!
