“All this taking hits, it gets a bit moreish.”

One of my favourite all-time quotes from the ScoutCast arrives in this week’s episode, as Jonty does his best to explain another abject Gamework return.

Struggling with misfortune and misfiring moves, our former resident “dullard” is now resigned to chasing memories from his season – those maverick move successes he can store and take with him for future campaigns.

There’s nothing maverick about my season right now, as I furiously back-peddle on my exit plans and watch Andy and Jonty jump and fall into the no-Aguero abyss without me. Granville tries to talk me over the edge, but I’m not budging.

Elsewhere in this week’s episode, we tackle the Philippe Coutinho injury fall-out head-on, chase our tails on “essential” assets and attempt to settle the Walcott vs Sanchez and Hazard vs Pedro arguments.

This episode of the ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

I would say that Leicester aren't great away from home and Pickford have a higher chance of getting save points even if he loses his CS. Siggy has done extremely well against "big 6" clubs these season scoring against both Everton, Arsenal and Chelsea, while assisting against ManC+ManU so far. Could be inspiring to play against former side as well.

There are 12 players on 97.1 % or higher on fplstats
whats the max number of risers on one night ? is there a max ?

No maximum on number of players, as it wouldn't really make sense.

Of course there is a limited number of players who can be transferred in enough in one day to raise their price.

Allen fixtures turn after this GW, so wouldn't get him in.

Some popular options are: Snoddy, Zaha, Matic, Moses, Can, Fer, Phillips/Chadli

If you are playing him every week for the foreseeable future, I would probably go with Matic/Moses or Fer. Zaha mentioned above is a good option as well, but their fixtures really aren't that good. Playing for the 5th most scoring team in the league though.

Bottomed. Aware Can is a bit of a punt/weak link but what do you think of this for the next 4 weeks at least...

    Heaton
    Alonso / Cedric / McAuley
    Hazard / Firmino / Siggy / Can
    Aguero / Costa / Kane

    Pickford / DeRoon / Amat / Tymon

You know you've overspent on your front 3. Balance is important.
You've prob taken a hit removing Coutinho etc
Emre Can not a good FPL option, despite short term stats (I'm sure he has good short term stats)
You have no Ars attackers. No flexibility in your team.

You really need to look at the stats a bit closer. The guy can't finish so it doesn't matter how many attempts he gets. 5 shots, 4 in the box, ZERO on target tells the whole story.

He is an ok option as a fifth mid but do you really want to waste a spot in your starting 11 on someone who is such a terrible finisher and passer (his key passes are generally putting people into positions where they are unlikely to score)?

The two best captain choices this week are (arguably) Kane & Sanchez, both of whom you don't own. That would worry me.

Beyond that it's a perfectly reasonable team. Would probably trade Fuchs out sometime soon.

Assuming all Coutinho's net transfers out after his 3rd price drop are redundant. Do you think his price will fall another 0.3 next week or isn't there enough people putting off the transfer for it to happen?

Of course there are a lot of people doing transfers on Saturday morning before deadline though. Will those NTOs count towards this week's or next week's price change?

    1. Jay_
        9 years, 7 days ago

The drops will start to slow, I reckon by the times he's fit again he'll be between 8.0 and 8.2. Doubt he'll drop below his starting price.

Sterling has but he has been fit so needed less transfers out to drop. It is tricky as I think most people with coutinho will be active players so more likely to transfer him out.

C as I think Cedric is a good long term option. Decent chance of CS this week, although Palace is 5th in terms of goals scored. But can't see anything from Holebas this week and you will PERHAPS save 0.1 by doing it. Looking to bring in Cedric next week myself.

Walker and Alonso - who I've been playing every week along with Holebas... then my bench fodder is Amat and Kingsley.

Another option would be Kingsley to someone like Chambers perhaps... I know I'll have to rectify Amat and Kingsley soon with fixture congestion approaching

People that sold Lukaku and Coutinho for Kane and Siggy last Saturday night, will be 1m better off than what they would have been if they did this Saturday morning. Even if you look at it SV wise, that's still a minimum of 0.4 SV saved.

The time spent obsessing over this game finally pays off! In a small TV gain...... Even smaller SV save... With no point guarantees.... Maybe it isn't the best investment after all 😉

This season I'm in ultra patient/ careful mode. Last season, I wasn't due to worst ever ever season and a bit of freedom just like Jonty this year.

Waiting is the key to ultimate FPL success. It takes discipline. it takes patience. It takes some sort of slow breathing nirvana.

A Kane blank will send this place batshit crazy and I can easily see it happening.

You are not the first, but I think non-owners are getting proper annoying now. If you don't own him or don't want him, then fine, but what's up with the repeated blank predictions? A blank will be no different than a Firmino blank last week or a Lukaku blank a week before that. If he fails, there's a straight up swap to Costa if need be. Not every one has taken a hit to get him in. It's just playing the fixture game.

That ep where he is talking to his ex, the one from Roseanne. Couldn't look away. That performance from her was so good. Never knew she had such acting chops.

Yeah that is the episode I mentioned last night! It was GLUED to the tele when watching that episode. Yes I never would have thought she could pull off that performance. And in one shot! One of the best shows I have watched in a long time and that episode was phenomenal. Another really captivating scene is the one with the woman in the morning, but I can't remember if it has happened yet.

Away form is poor and he's away in 3 of the next 4. But...form changes. He's an explosive player and I reckon he's great fun to own. If the pennies are there I'd give him a go.

Mane seems to only score in home games, which - if this doesn't change - means only a handful of tasty fixture before he's off to the Africa Cup of Nations.
