Roberto Firmino has returned to training and is expected to be fit for Liverpool’s trip to Bournemouth. Toby Alderweireld is also back training ahead of Spurs’ clash with Swansea, while West Ham are without both first-choice wing-backs for the visit of Arsenal.

Philippe Coutinho is ruled out of Liverpool’s clash with Bournemouth due to an ankle injury. Roberto Firmino and Adam Lallana are back in full training, though Daniel Sturridge is ruled out. Discussing Firmino’s fitness, Jurgen Klopp was optimistic on his availability for Sunday:

“Roberto trained yesterday, too. That’s important. There’s still a little bit of pain – it’s painful but not that serious. When you can deal with the pain, then everything is fine. He is quite a tough guy, so he came through the session yesterday. Again, we have to see how he reacts and that’s it.”

Kasper Schmeichel remains ruled out for Leicester’s clash with Sunderland, with Claudio Ranieri optimistic the Dane could be back “before Christmas Day”. Danny Drinkwater serves the second of a two-match ban, though Nampalys Mendy and Ben Chilwell are back in contention.

Tom Heaton remains “touch and go” for Burnley’s match at Stoke – the keeper requires a late assessment on a calf problem. Sean Dyche is hopeful on Dean Marney’s chances of recovering, though Johann Berg Gudmundsson has been ruled out with a hamstring complaint.

Danny Rose returns from a one-match ban as Spurs welcome Swansea to White Hart Lane. Toby Alderweireld is back in training and is “very close” to being available, Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed. Erik Lamela and Ben Davies remain out through injury.

Palace’s Steve Mandanda will undergo knee surgery and is expected to be sidelined for six weeks, while Connor Wickham is out for the season with knee ligament damage. Yohan Cabaye serves a one-match ban after toppling off the Suspension Tightrope.

Dusan Tadic and Matt Targett remain sidelined for Southampton’s trip to Palace. Discussing Tadic, manager Claude Puel has conceded “I don’t know when he’ll return”, with the midfielder still struggling due to a broken nose.

Ryan Mason is expected to recover from illness for Hull’s trip to Middlesbrough. Abel Hernandez and Shaun Maloney have stepped up their recoveries from injury but remain doubtful and will be assessed. Dieumerci Mbokani starts the first of a three-match ban.

Miguel Britos and Valon Behrami serve one-match bans for Watford’s trip to West Brom. Walter Mazzarri will make a late decision on the fitness of Younes Kaboul and Isaac Success.

Arsenal have confirmed that Santi Cazorla will be sidelined for around three months, with the midfielder set to undergo ankle surgery. Olivier Giroud remains doubtful due to a minor groin problem, while Mathieu Debuchy has been ruled out with the hamstring injury that forced him off against Bournemouth last weekend. Mohamed Elneny remains a slight doubt due to illness.

Michail Antonio and Aaron Cresswell have also been ruled out of tomorrow evening’s encounter after both limped out of the midweek cup defeat to Man United with groin problems.

Ryan Shawcross remains a doubt for Stoke’s clash with Burnley due to the calf problem that caused him to miss last Sunday’s win at Watford. Joe Allen returns from a one-match suspension, while Glenn Whelan is expected to overcome a calf problem. Geoff Cameron and Phil Bardsley remain out due to ongoing knee injuries. Jack Butland will step up his recovery from an ankle problem by turning out for the club’s Under 23 side this evening.

Salomon Rondon is expected to be fit for West Brom’s clash with Watford, despite being sent home from training yesterday due to tonsillitis.

Artur Boruc remains a doubt for Bournemouth’s home clash with Liverpool, Eddie Howe confirmed earlier this morning. Andrew Surman is ruled out with a hamstring complaint, while the Cherries will “make a late call” on Charlie Daniels’ hip problem.

    Would you rather buy:
    A) Kane & De Roon
    B) Anichebe & Eriksen

If I go B, I'll save some cash too and I think Anichebe is a better pick than De Roon.
    What's your take?

Will de Roon be your 5th MID cos I'd opt for him. Huge Eriksen fan and I started this season with him -- he never really does (i.e. grab points) when you expect/want him too. I feel most are getting him in for Spurs' easy run and could leave frustrated when after ditching him he goes on a mini-run of a gal+assist for the next 3 games.

Also with A, you get a viable captain option. Also on penalties and is nailed on. So A, if de Roon isn't expected to play. If you plan to start both players, might as well roll the dice with B. The Dane might come through, who knows.

      1. Jonny HOW SON?

Thanks mate. De Roon would mostly be on my bench.
The problem is, I can't buy Cedric if I go A.

          Gotcha.

That Saint's defence is a good pick going forward.
I don't see Eriksen staying in people's team long -- I hope I am proved wrong so just start looking out for options should he not pan out.

Should I try to get Alonso in over next couple of weeks for Williams or just settle for Clyne/Valencia?
Alonso will require an extra transfer and to find 0.5 from somewhere. 0ft, 0.7in the bank

    Heaton, Pickford
    VVD, Williams, Holebas, Evans, Amat
    Hazard, Mane, Firmino, Walcott, Fletcher

Alonso. You paid that much for him to make these decisions rather straightforward. That said, ARS do have the better fixture so play Jenkinson -- if Wenger doesn't start him, you have Alonso off the bench.

Dele Alli. Swansea lack bite in defensive midfield and Alli, with his aggresive style, can take advantage of that. I own Kane, but I think Alli is just as likely to get a big haul.

Some people dream aboute love and other beautiful stuff.
I use to dream about FPL. Tonight I woke up to a voice, "It's a hattrick from Jeremain Defoe..".
Sometimes I really hate this game!!!

      I have to say Defoe..

Mkhitaryan because he showed what he is made of in the Cup against West Ham and with Rooney suspended i am sure he starts

A man like that wont miss this chance to take his opportunity and with 1.5% ownership most of which are ghost ships you cant get any more exclusive than that

      Mkhitaryan.

Call it knee jerk but I actually brought him in last week, only for Jose to drop him. I think he's done enough to start for us now and looks pivotal. Record at Dortmund speaks for itself.

    Arsene Wenger on:

    - on the team news
We have Mo Elneny who came out of our last game with sickness - I will test him today [Friday].

    - on Santi Cazorla
For me it’s very bad news. You always know the date of the surgery but never the date where the player will play again. I always try to put absolutely everything in place to avoid surgery because it creates anxiety and rehab. When you can avoid it, you have to avoid it. In this case, unfortunately we have come to that conclusion. I’m told he will be out for two months at least but two months can sometimes be three as well.

    - on Mathieu Debuchy
It’s a severe hamstring injury. Six weeks, I think. It’s frustrating for me, but even more for him because he fights very hard. He is a guy who has an exceptional attitude and is very serious. Overall, I think that he is absolutely disappointed, but he is as well a fighter and he will fight to come back.

    - on Olivier Giroud
I thought that Giroud might be available for Saturday, but he might not be available for tomorrow. Certainly for Tuesday [in Basel], he will be available.

    - on having Danny Welbeck back in training
It’s great, but he is at least four weeks away from playing a game.

          not this week.

is kun to kane worth a hit this week? then kun for kane next week, then back to kane for 2 weeks and then back to kun for boxing day? I don't usually like planning so far ahead, but roughly in a perfect world thats what would be good

This says holebas is out, although I can't see any official confirmation

Mazzarri has more selection problems than his opponents, with Valon Behrami and Miguel Britos picking up suspensions in the match against Stoke. They will join the likes of Jose Holebas, Younes Kaboul, Kenedy and Brice Dja Djedje on the sidelines, while Craig Cathcart and Isaac Success face fitness tests.
