Regrets come hand-in-hand with Fantasy Football – if you get through the season without one, you’re either extremely fortunate or you just don’t care enough. Either way, you’re unlikely to be reading this.

Most of us of come to terms with them, have learnt to ride them out and plough on regardless but, even I’ve got to admit, Alexis Sanchez’ Gameweek 14 stung a bit.

Thankfully, with Sergio Aguero harbouring his own regrets, my path to sheepishly welcome Sanchez back into the fold is signposted rather clearly.

The Sanchez wounds and the Aguero fall-out dominate this week’s ScoutCast, which also marks a debut for moderator and long-time community member AZ. He steps in with Granville tangled in political red tape to join Jonty, Andy and myself for a lengthy and lively episode.

We gripe about the volatile market, quiver in fear at the idea of the “Titan teams” and, of course, preview the weekend with a scattering of statistics, speculation and pure guesswork.

This episode of the ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Wednesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link or the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Really don't see Arsenal thrashing Stoke
Arsenal are always frustraing at The Emirates
Maybe a draw or a narrow 1-0 victory
That sways Sanchez away from my thoughts

            Kun in gw8
Kun's goal scoring record against Tot
Kun's goal scoring record against Swansea (the negative way)
            Theo's rec against The Hammer's
            The past is past mate
You can't always expect the same thing to occur always
Also, Stoke aren't the same as they were at the start of the season

...besides...look who Stoke have played in their last 6 games:

sun/hull/swa/wh/bou/wat/burn...no wonder it's not the same Stoke as the start of the season.

Is this good enough as a Hazard-less team of is he essential for their run of fixtures?

    Pickford (Foster)
    Alonso, Rose, Stones (McAuley, Amat)
    Sanchez, Firmino, Siggy, Walcott (Allen)
    Kane, Costa, Iheanacho

    1. Zareos
      • 11 Years
      9 years, 1 month ago

I don't think Hazard is essential. One of Hazard or Costa is essential and you have that covered!

Hazard and Costa would be nice but I wouldn't want to be without Sanchez or Kane in order to accommodate that.

Good to go, but lose Stones when you have a spare transfer.

Cover is just a myth, mate
Hazard can't give the points that Costa gives and vice-versa
The same way as Theo can't cover Sanchez
I'd rather have both Costa and Hazard for the coming weeks

A would depend on the proposed replacement. If Austin is out for more than 2 weeks, then all your replacement needs to do is play. The only replacements I'm considering are Nacho or Defoe due to consistency (when starting in Nachos case}.

If I had Austin then I'd be all over this. Great option for the next 3 matches, wouldn't take a hit for him this week but would look at bringing him in Sunday night (Austin price fall at some point in the next week I imagine).

    4. Eze Really?
      • 11 Years
      9 years, 1 month ago

      The problem keeping Austin is:
      price drop
      limiting attacking players.
      liklihood 4 weeks out

Don't people think it is simple to make up the -4 considering the above.

Look at ihanacho 4 weeks is good and rotation will be done with many players.
      Look at Carroll
Look at Budget forward and put money i to the mids.

When can you last remember not needing the tfr for another player. Delaying the inevitable will cost people who keep Austin.

    A or B?

    A) If I bring in Anichebe for Austin now than next GW I can upgrade Siggy to Eriksen and Coleman to Walker. Siggy playing Boro and West Bromwich away while Spurs play Hull and Burley at home.

B Bring in Iheanacho, Origi or Carroll? no upgrade to Walker and Eriksen

TV 105.6 after losing money on selling Lukaku Austin Cotinho. had 25 tfr's this year. Hovering between 7k and 20k. tfr early to get value and settle down for the second half of the season.

I have Ibra, Costa Haz Sanchez as my big hitters. Made very little on defenders.

My real value is 104 though.

So what is the consensus with Austin, is everything shipping him out? I took a -4 to get him in last week :/ and deeney who I took out got an assist!

    Boruc
    Alonso, Cedric, Holebas
Sanchez (C), Hazard, Firmino, Siggy, Allen
    Costa (VC), Wilson

    Pickford, Austin*, Lenhian

    0FT and 1.3 iTB

I have taken a -4 this week doing Aguero > Costa and Stanislas > Siggy, is it worth -8 to get Austin out or just play Allen?

Could put in Ihenancho or Defoe, have 8.2m for a striker if i sell Austin.

    What are your thoughts?

    Alonso, Lovren, Holebas
    Sanchez, Hazard, Firmino, Siggy, Zaha
    Kane, Costa

    Subs: Jaku, Friend, Anichebe, Kingsley

I've got 0.2 in the bank - should I use this next game week to upgrade Holebas (e.g. Brunt) or would I be better off getting a better defender than Kingsley to cover next couple of weeks until Friend back up to speed?

    OK guys. What's best here? Took a -4 already to ship Kun and Allen for Austin and Sanchez, but now Austin out = need to remove straight away haha... Team is;

    Pickford / fodder
Walker Alonso Amat / Pieters fodder
    Hazard San©hez Firmino Siggy /Fletcher
    Kaku Kane Austin*

    Best option;
    1/ Nacho for Austin, -8
2/ Callum Wilson for Austin, -8
    3/ Origi for Austin, -8
4/ Anichebe for Austin, -8, allowing me to do Kaku to Costa next week... But would mean playing Anichebe every week
5/ Leave it, let Fletcher come in (away at Chelsea)

Thanks for any help guys... Bit of a headache!! Am in Hong Kong on holiday so I missed out on the Nacho rise as I was asleep lol (+8GMT) otherwise I'd have made the move 🙁

        Nacho = Kelechi Iheanacho 🙂

Dyu think he's the best choice? I see he's got Watford home midweek, am just worried about Pep rotating tbh which is making me consider Wilson or even Anichebe.

Strongly looking at Anichibe to fund Snoddy to Hazard next week

Anichebe would allow me to bring in Costa for Kaku. But I would have to play Fletcher or Amat or him every week, which isn't particularly enticing.

Because of rotation risk I would rather pick Origi than Iheanacho. But wouldn't do it this week for -8pts, I would just let Fletcher come in and leave the transfer for the next week. I have Austin myself, so I'm pretty much in the same situation... (except that I have Anichebe on the bench instead of Fletcher).

Thanks buddy, I'm not sure though as it's a midweek gameweek isn't it? I also need to replace Pieters and Kaku so it's kind of mounting up a little. Do like the idea of riding it out but atm a -8 seems the 'least worst' solution.

Agree on Origi v. Nacho.. tbh I'm very tempted to put Callum Wilson - ok fixtures and no issues with him starting

What's everyone's thoughts on Andy Carroll?

Is he fit enough to start the majority of games coming up? Thinking of benching Austin this week (already on -8), to sell to Carroll next GW (BUR, HUL, swa, lei).

If Bilic can avoid rotation he will but Carroll has been out for well over 3 months, can't see him being fit enough to play 3 games in a week personally, certainly not 90 minutes in each.

Yeah, that's my worry too. But as long as he gets 60+ mins in 2 and maybe a 30 min cameo in the other, I'll take that I think.

Yeah I had him in mind, I can't see him being fit enough though to start in all 4 of those games. I'm considering Callum Wilson alongside Nacho, Origi and even Anichebe atm.

Morning all. GTG or Williams > Alonso for a -4?

    Pickford
    Cedric / Lovren / Holebas / Williams
    Firm / Sanchez / Hazard / Redmond
    Costa / Kane

    (Foster / Diomande / Amat / Allen)

Managed to escape this week with 0 hits so far.

Think Williams for Alonso will be a sound investment, especially as many will be taking hits this week so a -4 won't really matter tbh

    Origi or Iheanacho?

    Easier fixtures for Origi maybe.

Are both potential victims of a false 9 being utilised instead?

Im also thinking of this (see above). I like Origi more than Nacho as I think Pep can and will play KdB/Raheem in a f9 role. Klopp doesn't seem to trust Sturridge, so I think Origi is the better option of the two.

Tbh, I'm thinking of just getting Callum Wilson in over all of them as at least I know he's nailed and the main threat for his team. But it's still a head scratcher!

I'm probably being silly but I don't feel Wilson is an gungho punt as the other two. feels more fun the two kids

Well he is a differential , though I know what you mean about him being less gung ho haha. I guess to me Nacho in is the obvious move; it's just whether that's what I do this week I suppose that's perplexing me. I don't like bringing players in who have a clear "sell by" date unless I have a wildcard to take them out again

    Reasons for Tadic:

    1) 1.5% ownership.
    2) £0.5m less than his starting price.
    3) Great fixtures that run and run.
    4) Fit and playing again.
    5) PENALTIES!

For people with a low rank, he could be a superb differential.

agreed. far too many options to even get close to my top 10 midfielders

      No form though.
And rotation risk with Boufal now.

      Reasons for not having Tadic;

      1) Great stats, not many returns
      2) He's annoying and Austin stole his penalties before
      3) He took a lot of team value out of my team whilst I stuck by him for god knows how many weeks.
      4) (Serious one) is he a rotation threat now though or definitely certain to start.
      5) Tadic screwed me over so no-one should pick him.

According to Puel's post match comment, Austin only has a minor injury, right? And that too in his shoulder?

He might not play this WE but should be fit for the next match in 3days..
With his series of juicy fixtures ahead, I am stunned by the number of owners determined on ditching him straight.

If you think Iheanacho can be a good differencial this GW, I think Austin will be the differential for the remaining weeks to come if everyone is ditching him. 🙂

Yeah I'm vaguely tempted to keep for this reason. Tbh I also need to be rid of Kaku and Pieters eventually so I was thinking of the -8 this week to keep everything palatable

Will see if Puel says anything today that's enlightening before making a choice!
