With a break in our open to all Fantasy Premier League cup competition during the midweek fixtures, we spend some time this evening to see who has made it through to fifth round, which takes place during Gameweek 17 this coming weekend.

A reminder that, for this latest contest, there are more than £1,000 worth of prizes for UK based entrants courtesy of our partner FanDuel, as well as £350 in Amazon vouchers to the top three managers at the end of the competition.

In addition the highest scoring manager each round wins a £30 FanDuel credit, with community regular Moin earning this prize after his 65 point Gameweek 15 haul. He next faces msq22 in round five.

The next four highest scoring managers in round four win a £10 FanDuel credit. These will be handed out to Pinky Unites, who scored 63, DJDave1979, who scored 61 along with twobitgooner, and BC1, Bashvilla, Hagop, who all hit the 60 point mark.

The highest placed manager left in the competition is 216 ranked Bacuna Matata, who along with Pink Unites, won a £30 FanDuel voucher for the top highest score back in the third round.

The unfortunate manager to face this early frontrunner to win the competition is lowlifegimpe, who is ranked 337,555.

In a closely fought contest, our only remaining Fantasy Football Scout staff representative, TorresMagic, has made it through to round five, after squeezing past Zambhino10 by just a single point.

The moderator has another tough encounter in store when he takes on Smooth Rossi, who at 6,687 in the overall rankings is more than 7,000 places above him.

Other eye catching ties taking place in round five include Funkyav’s clash with Big Phil Soccer Team and Cobberlsnz taking on Bash Villa, who incidentally sent me packing back in the first round.

The fourth round results can be found via this link, while the full fifth round draw can be found here.

Good luck to those still involved and if you would like more information on the schedule and prizes click this link.

Anyone care to guess who is the second highest owned goalkeeper in FPL?

Interesting double up on arguably the worst team in the league. What's the thinking behind that?

Hmmm. I remember who the most owned is (based on fans I guess), so I would guess Cech or Pickford.

So when do we realize that Burnley's/Heaton's time is over and spend a FT transferring him out?

Which cheap keeper rotates best with Pickford?

I don't like Heaton. Really regretting getting him in. I think Heaton's performances saved them a lot in the beginning of the season and now they are regressing to the norm given their stats re conceding chances/shots...

Haven't checked his rotation with Pickford, but like Valdes as an option. Good long term fixtures, good keeper and were apparently also solid at the back last year.

Think I am going that route.
            Pick, Valdes
Cedric, Friend, McAuley, Evans/Pieters + Bournemouth defender could actually work out okay for an über cheap defence.

    (Pickford; Capoue, Amat, Holebas)

I'm not sure you know. I'm an owner, and with Man City at the weekend where pace is clearly their achilles heel, he'll want Walcott fresh for that.

Such good fixtures for Arsenal though, I don't want to lose him.

In the wide positions, is there just Ox and Iwobi? Surely Iwobi starts this one after scoring in his last two, then it's down to whether he rests Walcott. Ox has being doing ok.

Hey TS! Hmm that's a pretty good shout actually, just something uneasy though about having three west brom players maybe? or is that a bad thing? i can't make my mind up on that one haha.

If I look at your front 7 then Morrison is clearly the weakest "play every week" option. It looks like you're setup to play 442 as your strongest line up, so I'd head that route if you want to keep those three big hitters in the midfield.

3 x West From isn't ideal but I'd prefer Brunt over both Morrison (is he on any set pieces?) and Evans.

yeah this is true, i think morrison is on pens? i'm not too sure there actually, but if Chadli is off the pitch then i imagine morrison takes them. Brunt seems to be proving a very popular pick, but has tough fixtures to follow.

Yeah i definitely agree, and i'd much rather play brunt over Anichebe most weeks i guess anyhow, it makes sense, strongest line up would indeed be the 4-4-2.
KDB might make way in the next two games but gonna see how he does, i may just do this Brunt move, cheers man, you've put me on the straight and narrow of late 🙂

The problem with Firmino is that by the time Coutinho comes back, Liverpool will again be weakened with Mane going. And Coutinho back could therefore still mean Origi/Sturridge FWD and Firmino out wide.

Given i own both Firm and Mane, easier to sell the one falling in price and out of form. 2 away fixtures and Man City at home. If Liverpool are still winning games and scoring goals, then will look at Coutinho for Mane after the City game, but in no rush to keep or buy any of them with the fixtures being so mixed now

Seeing as Firmino is my only Liverpool player now I would rather keep. Plus, I really see Klopp putting him in the center (either benching Origi or putting him out wide) either against Boro or Everton

It bit me. He paid back my hit but I'd have been 2 points better off just keeping Trollaku.

Firmino->Erikssen done. Will do Walcott to Payet tomorrow before deadline, barring Bilic stating some unknown doubt.
      Good moves?

      Heaton, Jaku
      Walker, Alonso, Cedric, Evans, Amat
      Sanchez, Erikssen, Payet, Siggy, Allen
      Costa, Kane, Nacho

Interestingly, Redmen TV on YouTube predict that Firmino will return to false 9 against Boro, with either Origi or Wijnaldum moving to LW.

        I really see it happening.
Origi's been scoring there yes, but if you've been watching the matches he hasn't helped Liverpool's 'team' play in anyway

I've seen Boro a few times and they've lived off sheer luck and determination. Some team will hammer them soon with Liverpool in pole position

Not so sure about that one. They looked solid to me against Chelsea and Hull (although Hull are useless).

      A. Austin - > Carroll

      B. Save FT & play Capoue. (Probably my my transfers tomorrow night before Austins price fall)

Start Allen (SOU) or Snodgrass (tot)?

One has a better fixture the other has set pieces...

Got Firmino, Mane & Kane but no West Ham cover....

Is Mane to Payet over Firmino to Eriksen or Firmino to Payet, Heaton to Grant -4 ridiculous?

      Good evening! New try 🙂

      Pickford
      Nyom - Cedric - Alonso
      Firm - Siggy - Alexis - Haz - Allen
      Costa - Kane(C)
      (Jaku, Lovren, Anichebe, Tarkowski)

      1 FT and 2.1 ITB

      A) Allen > Antonio

      B) Firm > Payet (move back to 3-4-3 formation in a couple of weeks)

Antonio's playing position is my main concern whilst ditching Firm would see me loose my "Liverpool cover" (although its significance has decreased slightly in recent week)

      What to do?

      Grant
      Pieters Kosc Evans
      Siggy Firm KDB Sanchez
      Nacho Costa Origi
      (Pickford Fletcher Holebas Lenihan)

      a) Kosc > Azpi
      b) Firmino > Hazard
      c) Kosc & Nacho/Origi > VVD & Kane (-4)
      d) Firmino & Nacho/Origi > Lallana & Kane (-4)
