It’s quite ironic that, in an episode that focuses on our experience and strategies of mini-league management, my long-term rival on that score goes awol.

Granville is waylaid by “homework” and misses out, but Luke crashes in mid-cast to join Jonty, Andy and myself as we deliver an 80-minute episode, which includes our dubious insights on navigating a team to mini-league glory – mind games and all.

Once again guided by your community questions, we take on the Diego Costa fall-out, the rising stock of Spurs on form and Everton on fixtures, while finding time to wade in on the demise of former darling Sergio Aguero under the stewardship of Pep Guardiola.

This episode of the ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link or the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

For all the Johny Evans owners:

ALBION will assess the fitness of Jonny Evans later this week before finalising their plans for the Premier League clash with Sunderland at The Hawthorns on Saturday (ko 3pm).

“Jonny is closer, so we’ll have a good look tomorrow and see where he is,” Pulis told Albion’s official website.

“It’s difficult to say with Jonny,” said head coach Tony Pulis when asked about the defender’s chances of returning to action against the Black Cats.
“We were not expecting him to miss the Spurs game so we’re taking nothing for granted.
“It’s a different injury to his earlier problem but it is in the same area as his calf.
“We will have to wait and see.”

The fitness of Evans is important for owners of all WBA defensive assets because they look crap at the back(clean sheet terms) without Evans

    a) Origi > Negredo

    b) Origi > Crouch

    c) Play Origi

    d) Snodgrass > Stanislas (bench Origi)

Fair enough, think I'd have both and downgrade Kane to Lukaku to find the money to turn an 8.something mid to Hazard but that's me.

The team is very good, I don't think I'd bother with Ozil atm.

Is everyone really just ditching Kun? I get that he's been frustrating, esp given his price but surely his upcoming fixtures of west ham, swansea, bournemouth is worth hanging on to for a bit more?

P.s. I'm saying this because I'm seriously considering whether to do the same but i'm afraid his explosive returns will bite me in my arse later on.

    1. KUN+10

12.8 is just too much dough for a player that has not been delivering. You have Ibra, Kane and Costa that have been much more consistent.

    2. The Nuttmxn
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

I ecpect most to ditch as he just isn't in the box enough, the problem is coming from the faffing they do passing the ball about the back, which pulls people back to help out with the awful passes many of them are making.

If your team looks fine with him, he should improve with better fixtures, don't expect anything this week though. If the price is hurting you though you shouldn't fear ditching him.

      1. Liquidate

        Well, my current squad is

        Pickford, Grant
        Rose, Holebas, Alonso, Jones, Amat
        Sanchez, Lallana, Allí, Phillips, Fletcher
        Ibra, Kun, Anichebe

Was thinking of swapping Pickford for Valdes.

Any other transfers would mean me taking a hit, and with kun & kane going up against each other, I don't think its worth the swap?

Fletcher to someone you can play in a 3-5-2; keep an eye on Davies (Everton); he could go straight for Fletcher. See if he is nailed at the next fixture.

only thing making you holding him is fear and fear only

I trust Kun but not Pep

      1. Liquidate
        • 11 Years
        9 years, 5 days ago

Precisely, but Kun has a knack of exploding all of a sudden, and with not a great % of ownership, seems like a good differential to move up the leagues.

        1. Holmes
          • 12 Years
          9 years, 5 days ago

No point in keeping a differential who will explode once in a while, you can make more points somewhere else in the meantime. But yeah, for now I would keep him since he has Swansea game in GW24.

    4. Pinky Blinders
      • 9 Years
      9 years, 5 days ago

the issue is two fold, which I found out the hard way and lead me to conclude he needed to go. First, he severely restricts upgrade options elsewhere. Second, if you don't captain him, you don't really give yourself a chance to reap the full differential rewards. So it's a double whammy of pain, team is unbalanced and your captain option is pretty much locked in week after week. I tried it for awhile but all I got was red arrows. So figured out a different way to make up ground. Does feel better to have more options instead of waiting on a singular moment that there seems no signs of coming anytime soon.

I'm not saying Rose is a bad pick but attacking returns cant be predicted by any means, they just come in any random weeks. So I would prefer to go for someone who has more chance of CS

I agree that City is a less likely clean sheet. But Everton managed and Spurs defense is very good. So if you can get attacking and cleanies, and money is not an issue, most people would pick Rose. But, it is all an evolution of facts so we will see if you are right..cheers mate!

Daniels after his easy fixtures are over could be downgraded + Maybe Antonio to Phillips and Then you could have decent money for a carrick or Crouch replacement I guess

Help me solve my Origi-ache! Thoughts very much appreciated. Swaying towards B, but have Phillips and worried about the possibility of an incoming Ighalo...

(get rid of Origi next week.)

    B. Origi > Rondon

    C. Origi, Aguero > Giroud, Kane (-4)

    D. Origi, Aguero > Lukaku, Costa (-4)

    E. Origi, Alli > Pedro, Giroud (-4)

    Morning all, G2G?

    Heaton
    Azpiliqueta Rose Brunt
Sanchez (c) Hazard, Coutinho, Alli, Phillips
    Ibra Giroud

    Jaku, Jones, Chambers, Barnes

Wildcarded last week and swapped Alonso for Azpiliqueta, still having nightmares about it now, tempted to change back but doubt I'd want to play a Chelsea defender against Liverpool or against Arsenal so may just roll the transfer.

    Thoughts?

Thanks Phil, yeah, I've made my bed with Alonso so might as well sit it out until after Arsenal.

Two frees appeal alot incase Hazard needs to be moved, just hope lightening doesn't strike twice this week with Alonso v Hull.

      Team looks set

Although If I was on WC, I would have a combo of Alonso // Walker // Baines In my team.

Since you already have Kane, I would ditch Alli for Pedro

Cheers moin. But I see most people here are doubling up or tripling up on Spurs. And Chelsea have tough fixtures after this. And Pedro's minutes are a doubt.

I know this differs from the previous opinion someone else gave, but I am steering clear of Southampton defence. They haven't kept a clean sheet in 5 I think and besides spurs, their opponents weren't too tough. Team looks good though. My only suggestion would be crouch to Barnes to fund Yoshi to Brunt. WB aren't keeping clean sheets either but at least Brunt has some attacking potential (more so when Nyom returns). No harm leaving as is though.

    A) (triple chelsea with only 1 spurs - alli)
    Brunt
    Costa Lukaku

    B) (triple spurs with alli)
    Rose
    Kane Defoe

i prefer on A but it scare me having only 1 spurs on their good fixtures from GW 23

      Heaton
      Alonso, Baines, McAuley
      Alli, Lallana, Phillips, Sanchez (c)
      Zlatan, Defoe, Lukaku
Bench: 4m, Toby, De Roon, Amat

I know benching Toby seems a bit of waste of moneon the bench, but I think City will score so happy to take a chance on that.
