Dugout Discussion – Liverpool vs Swansea City

Gameweek 22 gets underway this Saturday lunchtime as Liverpool welcome basement-dwellers Swansea City to Anfield at 12.30pm.

Subject to more transfers in than any midfielder in FPL last week, Philippe Coutinho is handed a first league start since Gameweek 13.

The Brazilian has three double-figure hauls in his last five home starts and faces up to a defence that’s conceded at least three goals in seven of the previous nine Gameweeks.

Adam Lallana, with a goal or assist in six of his seven home starts, is another one to watch, though Coutinho’s return could also spark Roberto Firmino back into life. The latter bagged a goal and assist against the Swans earlier in the season and is set to return to the “false 9” role against Paul Clement’s strugglers.

      England has a good core of players:

      Kane, Alli, Rose, Walker, Dier, Lallana, Hart.

      We need a decent CB and a manager who can get the best out of them. Would love Pochettino, but won't happen.

          We may need to switch to three at the back given our deficiencies. I think 3 at the back would suit Stones at Man City actually, but Pep too stubborn to try.

      Anfield's an overrated atmosphere. It only comes to life on the odd European night.

      Half of the Bundesliga would laugh at Anfield's famous noise (S04, Dortmund, Köln, Frankfurt, RBL, Werder, HSV). Though tbf to Pool, it's Premier League atmospheres in general. They're all gash.

    As a guy with no Pool cover, great 45 minutes. Don't expect Swansea to shut them out for the second half but at least it isn't as bad as I expected.

    With Coutinho back in the team you would think that Firminho would be once again back in vogue because he would be getting a lot more chances but he just does not look like he has the edge that he had earlier in the season
