Jesus is forcing Pep to forget Aguero and prompting similar absent-mindedness among Fantasy managers, who are showing little concern on City’s missing fixtures. Elsewhere, Lukaku feeds off a confident Everton, while Hazard’s display and Rose’s absence cause doubts and tremors in the market place. Here are the learnings from Gameweek 24.

Lukaku can be unstoppable for an in-form Everton…
Confidence in Romelu Lukaku has soared and dipped throughout the season, following an almost identical trend to Everton’s own erratic form.

The obvious conclusion is that the striker is unable to lift his individual game to overcome the shortcomings of those around him. While he’s a player with the tools to conjure goals from nothing, in an Everton side short on confidence and fluidity, Lukaku tends to dry up.

In contrast, when part of a Toffees line-up purring with imagination and flair, Lukaku is an irresistible force who can punish defences with pace, power and unerring finishing.

Bournemouth were ill-equipped to deal with his threat and, while Lukaku will face far sterner opponents, right now there can be no question that the striker is fronting an in-form Everton attack.

Ronald Koeman has exciting talents in Ross Barkley and Ademola Lookman that ensure that Lukaku will be kept fed and, while confidence and form remain intact, the Belgian looks assured of further returns.

Koeman will shift shape to his opponent…
Everton’s options extend to formation and tactics, with Koeman seemingly tailoring his defensive set-up to the opponent.

Fantasy managers need to dismiss the idea that Mason Holgate can offer secure starts, with the Everton boss reverting to a back four at Goodison Park, perhaps shifting to a three-man backline for trickier away ties.

Holgate makes way in a 4-3-3, while Tom Davies also appears unlikely to break into the starting XI in that scenario.

Both could earn recalls at Middlesbrough this weekend, only to be benched once again for the potentially prosperous home meeting with Sunderland.

Jesus is working miracles, but he can’t fix the schedule…
Three goals, an assist and six bonus points – there’s no questioning the impact that Gabriel Jesus has had on Manchester City and as a Fantasy asset.

His arrival appears to have created a curious split, with thousands flocking to the Brazilian, while others sell on their big-name assets – Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Alexis Sanchez – in light of the impending blank fixtures.

While there’s no doubting the appeal of Jesus once we can be sure of his regular City starts, investment now is surely tempered by missing fixtures in Gameweek 26 and, potentially, Gameweek 28.

For all his brilliance, Jesus can do little to address this.

He can reward the early adopters again at Bournemouth and Sunderland but, around those matches, he will likely sit idle.

Sigurdsson’s class can rise above the fixture…
With goals at Liverpool and Manchester City, Gylfi Sigurdsson has taught a harsh lesson to those questioning his worth.

Few will have had doubts on the playmaker’s appeal ahead of Swansea’s obliging run, which includes an assured Gameweek 28 fixture. However, those trips to Anfield and the Etihad seemed unlikely venues for Sigurdsson’s returns.

Two well-taken goals have punished that thinking and suggest that Sigurdsson can be an asset that now gets locked into our squads, during and beyond Swansea’s short-term schedule and regardless of opponent.

Hazard’s big game performance has forced a rethink…
Few could have anticipated Eden Hazard’s Gameweek 26 performance.

Sold on or teetering on the brink of being ejected from FPL squads, that goal in a performance brimming with confidence and menace have forced a re-assessment.

We were always looking ahead to Chelsea’s schedule, mindful of turning our backs on Hazard. But, having struggled to make an impact in recent matches and with just a single goal – a penalty – since Gameweek 14, the Belgian appeared dispensable.

Saturday’s display has changed matters. Hazard’s transformation on Saturday mirrored the Gameweek 11 showing against Everton, a performance that convinced so many to act and acquire his services.

Now, having suffered significant recent sales, the Hazard ownership is climbing once more, with the fixtures to follow a testing Turf Moor visit suggesting that he could even re-establish a challenge to Sanchez as the top scoring asset.

Rose absence has dented confidence in Spurs…
While the market gradually shifts back to Hazard, it’s rapidly moving away from Spurs as a provider of Fantasy talent.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men currently provide four of the 12 most sold FPL assets, with faith in Harry Kane faltering in light of Lukaku’s haul. Similarly, both Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen are suffering losses with just one goal scored in outings with Sunderland and Middlesbrough.

The injury to Danny Rose appears to have been the key setback.

Suffering his own FPL ownership losses, Rose’s absence from the Spurs starting line-up appears to have forced Pochettino to abandon a three-man defence.

That shift may have reduced the Spurs threat, altering Alli’s role as the player to run beyond Kane and putting greater emphasis on Son Heung-min as an outlet.

Spurs need Rose fit and, until then, their attack will remain under scrutiny with their prize assets taking casualties.

Carroll remains a fragile commodity…
The form is strong, the appeal of the fixture list undeniable and yet we are forced to approach Andy Carroll with caution.

So often Fantasy Fools Gold, Carroll appears to offer so much, only to break down with injury once we show faith. The evidence suggests that this familiar scenario could arise again.

Scoring his fourth goal in as many Gameweeks, Carroll was hooked by Slaven Bilic at Southampton before the hour-mark. A recurring groin problem troubling the striker, forcing the Hammers boss to show caution and offering us a clear warning ahead of Gameweek 28.

Silva’s Tigers are a Gameweek 28 option…
Looking ahead, Hull City’s assets were afterthoughts on our wishlist for Gameweek 28, perhaps identified as low-priority budget fillers that could help bolster our line-ups.

Recent results and performances have changed that view.

Unfortunate at Stamford Bridge, Marco Silva has since inspired unlikely clean sheets against Manchester United and Liverpool as Hull steer through choppy waters to smooth sailing fixtures ahead.

Hull are now an interesting prospect, with a budget keeper in Eldin Jakupovic and a defensive goal threat in Harry Maguire that figure prominently on our Gameweek 28 menu.

Interest in their attacking assets is perhaps unlikely, although Silva’s considerable influence may yet change the outlook in that area, too.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Can't argue with stats. I'd still be more worried about not having Alli than Eriksen on any given GW though. having said that, I think they could both do well at Anfield the way Liverpool are going.

For this reason I'm probably going to ship Philips for Siggy and keep both Spurs. Have the exact cash to do so. Just hesitant to switch out someone with guaranteed no blanks. Although his form has been pretty dire.

Phillips is one of my Blank week players. I think if you hold your free transfer, week 28 will be more clear after round 5 of FA Cup. I believe that if Fulham beats Spurs, we will have Spurs for Week 28.

It's a big "if". And it does mean going Siggy-less for Leicester at home...which I'm not very comfortable with!

Then again maybe Leicester will raise their game after all the negative press they've been getting over the past few days. Then again maybe Swansea will be ready for that.

Decent option but that Hull has shown itself to be tricky!
I say ship out Theo with utmost respect for him as he's one of my favourite players but it's just his ownership is lower than Sanchez so if he does explode and your Siggy punt fails it won't hurt as much.
It will still really hurt though and ruin your trip to NYC.

It's my first season and I don't have the experience, does this usually happen before blanks?
I had bought them early and if this is the case I'd like to sell them before I lose all the money made

I'm surprised how many realise about the blanks. This hasn't been the case in the past but a lot more players seem to be clued in this year.
      It will be close.

It has become an addiction, so preparation is everything 🙂
So what do you think about Sanchez and Ibra price falls? Could they go down as much as possible?

I certainly think it's a possibility considering the speed with which they are falling.

The GW26 blanks are already there on the FPL site but tbh I think this has more to do with the Lukaku and Jesus bandwagons. People selling Ibra and Kane to get them in.

It's a good thing I got Lukaku in before his match vs MCI, and he probably is in for the long run.
Bandwagon-wise, I guess that part of Sanchez's fast fall is caused by Hazard's latest performance.
It was just before this match that everyone was getting rid.
It's like what happens with every new iphone. People just want to buy it just because it's the new thing, even if they don't need it, even if it's not an actual improvement.

Hoping they only drop 0.1 more this week. 0.3 the week leading up to the blanks seems very likely.

That's what I'm afraid of, so I'll keep checking the drop speed.
The weird thing is that both of them are already more than halfway towards the full -0.3 fall, in a week they'll have "easy" home matches, and it's only Tuesday.
If this the logic, after they play these matches they'll fall at light speed

    Grant
    Alonso Brunt Walker Jones
    Alli Phillips Sanchez
    Lukaku Ibra Kane

    a) Alli to Siggy

I'm a bit confused (as normal) - will we know the exact fixture list for GW28 before GW26 deadline?

For example if there are any draws in the FPL Cup, will the replays be completed before GW26 deadline, as this could have a big impact on next weeks transfers.

Looking to ship Sanchez & Defoe > Siggy & Lukaku before GW26, unless I do it this week?

    Planning GW28:

    1) or 2)? 🙂

    1)
    5.4 itb and 1FT in GW29 (do Diomande -> Jesus GW29 and play 3-4-3)

    Jaku (Heaton)
    Coleman/Baines/Brunt/Maguire (Chambers)
    Gylfi/Phillips/Obiang (Sanchez/Hazard)
    Lukaku/Diomande (Kane)

    2)
    1.2 itb and 2FT in GW29 and play 3-5-2:

    Jaku (Heaton)
    Coleman/Baines/Brunt/Maguire (Chambers)
    Gylfi/Phillips (Sanch/Haz/Alli)
    Lukaku/Diomande (Kane)

Totally stuck, need to raise .6 for a Davies > Siggy this week and Ibra > Kaku next week. And not willing to part ways with Sanchez (for at least this week). So where do I get the .6?

Feel like Kane and Eriksen will be in the points against Pool...Costa my only CHE attacker and good fixtures...that only leaves Walker and Alonso who I also want to keep. I'm stuck. Help!

Also need to burn a FT.

    Randolph, Jaku
    Baines, Holgate, McCauley, Walker, Alonso,
    Fletcher, Davies, Sanchez, Antonio, Eriksen

Slow day at work so i thought i should share some of my thoughts regarding transfers for incoming GW28.

The way i see it there are few different scenarios what you should do :

    1) Save transfer
    - with FA cup and CL games before GW26 smart thing to do would be save a transfer. Knowing what games will be played in GW28 with two transfers in hand would be nice. Also, injuries or cards could have effect on our teams

2)Having injuries or non playing players
    - get yourself a player who have a game in GW28 but who you would want anyway (Siggy for example)

3)Having 2 FT and no problems in your starting 11
    - get your bench sorted for GW28 (Amat to Hull defender for example)

My plan at the moment is to save a transfer and do *Ibra-->Lukaku* for GW26 and *Friend-->Maguire* for GW26 if Friend is still injured. Then do *Alli-->Siggy* for GW27

are you still happy with 2 spurs mids? I have the same scenario.

thinking 1 of them to siggy this week....£1.5M ITB

£1.7M short of sims to siggy 🙁

      Heaton
      Alonso Valencia Coleman Brunt
      Sanchez Alli Eriksen
      Lukaku Carroll Ibra(C)

      Pick Philips Holgate Sims

I thinks that a spurs mid is better for the next two weeks. After that i'm looking to bring in Sigs.

Do you believe Ranieri might get sacked if they loose in Swansea?

Probably not before he plays the matches vs Sevilla

would be a travesty if he does, not his fault its the players.

He has to take some of the blame too.

I normally think managers should be given a chance but once the rumours start that they've lost the dressing room it's never good. They may well end up in the bottom three by Sunday evening - surely then Leicester have a decision to take.

I agree though i don't think Ranieri is a good manager.Do you expect a response from Leicester?

What do we think of this for -4. It's irrelevant what you think to be honest, because I've already done it, but even so:

    Heaton
    Walker Coleman Brunt
    Sanchez Eriksen Siggy Phillips
    Costa Lukaku Jesus(c)

    Jaku Smith T Carroll Ake

    2.7 in the kitty

        Kane -> Hey! Zeus.

I'm miles behind in my ML and I'm pretty much just messing about to be honest.

Presume Yoshida is still nailed even if Caceres signs?

    Grant
    Coleman Baines Pieters
    Sanchez Alli Eriksen Phillips
    Ibra Lukaku Carroll

    Foster Stanislas Brunt Yoshida

1 FT, 1.6 ITB, no WC.

    A) Phillips->Siggy exact money
    B) Save FT and monitor Stanislas minutes + Carroll injury
