There’s one alarm but no surprises as another two Premier League teams navigate themselves into the last eight of the FA Cup – and out of Gameweek 28.

And yesterday evening’s quarter-final draw gives us a first indication of who might be facing yet further postponements, this time involving Gameweek 34.

Fulham 0 Tottenham Hotspur 3

A Harry Kane hat-trick secured Spurs only their third win in 17 away matches as Mauricio Pochettino’s decision to field a strong side paid dividends at Fulham.

Having scored just once in his last five matches in all competitions, Kane’s treble was a welcome return to form for his 19.0% owners, although he and team-mates Dele Alli (who assisted Kane’s third) and Christian Eriksen (who teed up Kane’s first two goals) all sit in the top ten for transfers-out this week.

And the confirmation that Spurs will now miss a Gameweek 28 trip to Crystal Palace is unlikely to stem that particular tide.

The trio all played at Craven Cottage. The club’s most popular Fantasy Premier League asset, Kyle Walker (36.4%), did not, although the defence was boosted by the return from injury of Jan Vertonghen as coach Mauricio Pochettino continued with a flat back four in the ongoing absence of Danny Rose.

The consistent sales of Spurs assets seem to reflect concerns over their recent poor form as much as anything – they have an attractive schedule all the way through to the end of April, even with the forthcoming Palace blank factored in.

But with advancement in the Europa League still a strong possibility, Pochettino’s already stretched squad will be sorely tested by potential fixture pile-ups as the season reaches its climax.

Spurs have been handed a home tie with Millwall for the quarter-finals. They would be expected to win that, meaning that their Gameweek 34 trip to Leicester City would have to be rescheduled to make way for a possible semi-final, thus adding to the late-season demands on the squad.

It’s likely that the Leicester fixture will remain in Gameweek 34, shifting to the free midweek slot, however, with Spurs Gameweek 28 postponed fixture with Crystal Palace perhaps more likely to be assigned to Gameweek 37.

Spurs XI: Vorm, Trippier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Davies, Winks (Dembele 79), Wanyama, Son, Alli (Onomah 86), Eriksen, Kane (Sissoko 75).
Subs not used: Janssen, Wimmer, Pau Lopez, Carter-Vickers.

Blackburn 1 Manchester United 2

A battling Blackburn took the lead and consistently troubled a strong Manchester United outfit, who finally saw off their hosts through goals from Marcus Rashford and substitute Zlatan Ibrahimovic, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Paul Pogba supplying the assists.

The 39.3% of Fantasy managers who still own Ibrahimovic must have been particularly delighted to see their man scoring four goals in the last two (non-FPL) matches – he’s taken the past eight fixtures to manage that haul in the league.

Small wonder then that the Swede is the second-most sold player this week, with more than 100,000 managers releasing him ahead of United’s Gameweek 26 blank as they face Southampton in the EFL Cup final.

With a Gameweek 28 fixture – again involving the Saints – now also postponed, that exodus is likely to gather pace. Team-mates Pogba and the injured Phil Jones also find themselves in the top 30 for transfers-out.

United’s squad is arguably the strongest in the Premier League, which is just as well as the club are still in all three domestic competitions and highly likely to progress to the Round of 16 in the Europa League.

Their immediate league schedule is a kindly one, but two blanks in the next three Gameweeks and the promise of some serious fixture congestion to come could compromise the lure of their key assets.

The quarter-final draw at least adds another layer of intrigue for Fantasy managers.

United will travel to Chelsea, meaning a guaranteed Gameweek 34 postponement for one of that pair, with the Red Devils due to visit Burnley, while the Blues are meant to be entertaining Southampton. Again, those fixtures may remain in Gameweek 34 and shifted to the vacant midweek slot.

Manchester United XI: Romero, Young, Smalling, Rojo, Darmian, Carrick, Herrera, Lingard (Pogba 62), Mkhitaryan, Martial (Ibrahimovic 62), Rashford (Mata 89).
Subs not used: Henderson, Bailly, Shaw, Schweinsteiger.

* The rest of the quarter-final draw involves Middlesbrough at home to either Manchester City or Huddersfield and Arsenal, should they beat Sutton United tonight, at home to Lincoln City.

That could force the rescheduling of following Gameweek 34 fixtures: Arsenal v Sunderland; Bournemouth v Middlesbrough and Man City v West Brom. Although, as mentioned, those fixtures could remain in the Gameweek 34 midweek slot.

Am I correct in thinking that the teams who make the FA Cup semis will not have a DGW in 34?

Probably - but not so sure about that one. For example Man Utd and Arsenal both need to play Soton - so there may be complications.

If Mane fails to perform most certainly, if not might have to ship one of the forwards with 2 FTs. Thing is, I probably kept my ft only once this season, and even then I took a hit. 13 hits overall.

Not sure they are stronger than City or Chelsea, maybe Arsenal, probably Liverpool and Spurs.

They're also ever so slightly coming into their own, look a lot more like Fergie's United (not there yet though)

All we have to do is wait and watch Liverpool play Robin Hood and City play Aguero as a CDM 🙂

Agreed, it is a work in progress situation, and I would give him a couple of seasons to get back to winning ways

To be fair, they haven't lost for some time in the league, a few needless draws holding them back

I'm talking more in terms of the game play on the pitch. After LVG's suicidal attempts, it's really good to see some flair in the midfield

Post-GW28, my team will look like this:
    Jaku Pickford
    Alonso, Coleman, Baines, McAuley, Robertson/Mawson
    Sanchez, Alli, Sigurdsson, Antonio, Phillips
    Ibra, Lukaku, Anichebe
    +/-£1m ITB

So, my question is - what should I do going forwards from that point? As I see it, I have 3-4 options
    1) Sell Baines for Walker and play 442
    2) Downgrade Baines to Robertson or Mawson and invest the money upgrade Phillips
    3) Downgrade Philips to Carroll and upgrade Anichebe (Gabbiadini) or Antonio (Firmino)
    4) Something else

Any thoughts? I still have my WC but ideally want to save it for the DGW

    Heaton, Jakupovic
    Alonso, Coleman, Brunt, Chambers, Wilson
Sanchez, Eriksen, Alli, Phillips, De Roon
    Ibrahimovic, Costa, Defoe

    1FT, 0.7

What to do with my FT?

Not really keen to transfer out Sanchez or Ibrahimovic, as (1) I will want them back in, and don't want to have to commit 2x future FTs to getting them back, and (2) I have already lost value on both.

Considering Mané in for Eriksen / Alli, or shifting Phillips.

I've got De Gea and Pickford so also face a similar problem. Pickford may be back for 26 but as for 28, think I'm just gonna go without a keeper. See more value in transferring in players in outfield positions

100 is a lot to catch up now, even with good DGW planning.

True. Honestly, a 100 point gap is fairly unassailable at this time, unless that guy isn't planning for the blanks and the international break coming up

Having Lukaku means the trolling is negated. Not having him means a 150 point gap - hence erring on the side of caution here

Hello. Have heard a lot about this site through friends, so decided to make a visit .
    How are you all doing?

So my first question would be, whom to replace sanchez with?

      Firmino? Mane?

Firmino is tempting. With mane back, he can nick in a goal or two

It's a Leicester defence which just lost to a non-league side with 10 men - a VERY good time to change that 🙂

Of Coutinho, Firmino, Mane - he's definitely the better pick

They lost to a league side. A crap league side granted, but a league side none the less 😉

Hahaha, apologies - didn't look like one

But the point still stands. Leicester are finding newer and fresher lows every week 🙂

If arsenal loose to Sutton, are we looking at benching both ibra and sanchez for those who haven't made transfers yet, or do we still think sanchez to mane is a good move

      I would hold sanchez .
      Will do ibra to lukaku

      Benching both if they loose.

Sanchez vs Leicester is captaincy locked.

Not too confident to confirm ibra to lukaku.
This Belgium guy can troll me very hard.

Considering he's going to be captained by almost everyone this week, even if he does troll - the effects are negated

However, if you don't have him AND he goes berserk - bye bye FPL

But ibra vs Bournemouth is what tempts me.
Bring ibra back for that fixture?

Will just wait for the price change of anyone of them, then will probably do it.

I see your point. I just think it doesn't make sense to keep Ibra only for that one GW captaincy though - might as well chuck

Disclaimer: I sold Sanchez and kept Ibra, so I will be captaining him in GW 27 🙂

I could also do sanchez to mane. But then with almost all captaining or let's say owning lukaku, not having him won't be a good idea. And if, suppose he goes berserk as you said, well bye bye fpl

Well, I actually got Lukaku and Snoddy for Sanchez and Anichibe

Based on what others have been saying here, keeping Sanchez is imperative - so Ibra to Lukaku makes more sense

Get him, dont captain. As simple as that... You will get half trolled 😉

Worst defence ever. Some probably won't even start. And a non-playing bench to top it all off:

    Jaku
    Brunt, Robertson, Holgate, Friend
    Alli, Siggy, Phillips, Davies
    Kane, Lukaku

    Grant, Ibra, Sanchez, Ake

2FT and 0.4m so I have to make a transfer somewhere. Any cheap defenders worth a pop?
