A minor disclaimer: this episode of the ScoutCast we recorded prior to the earth-shattering revelation that Manchester City could enjoy two fixtures in Gameweek 27. This therefore renders the full 70 minutes as totally irrelevant, with the content and advice offered within both useless and ill-informed. However, as this hasn’t stopped folk listening in the past, we’re putting it out there anyway.

Before the intervention of the fixture computer, I was joined by Jonty, Andy and Az as, oblivious to what was to come, we stepped blindly into the breach to wrestle another round of community questions.

That ensured that the impending blanks dominated the discussion, gifting Jonty the opportunity to flaunt his enviable Gameweek 28 line-up, while discussing the merits of Chelsea, Liverpool and West Ham. Somewhat inevitably, pastry based goods also make an appearance.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link or the first player below, or take in the full visual experience, pastry and all, via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Sanchez haul during GW25 has resulted in his slow exit pace.

I expect 200/300 will ship next week in preperatuon for Aguero mania. If that happens he should slump to as low as 11.4 at a guess.

Heard this on the radio and thought it was a good idea.

The winners of the FA Cup should play the winners of the EFL Cup in a Champions League play off place. January should be FA Cup month so those who teams who want a 'winter break' can risk the FA Cup if they want.

      1) Winners of the FA Cup should play 4th place in PL for the CL place
      2) Scrap the EFL Cup (why have we got two cup competitions?)
      3) Put in a winter break
      4) Scrap replays in the FA Cup from the 5th round onwards

Yes, this. The LC is obsolete.

But then give the FAC more prominence. Return replays all through (until the SFs) and use Wembley for the final only. Give the FAC 6th round a free slot in the PL schedule and reward the winners with a CL slot and the losing finalists with an EL slot.

    Heaton
    Alonso, Coleman, Brunt
    Mane, Eriksen, Antonio, Phillips
    Lukaku (c), Costa (vc), Kane
Subs: Randolph, Baines, Friend, de Roon

Think I've got it right? Baines on the bench can be painful, but playing Phillips as my rival has him.
Plan is to do Kane & Eriksen -> Siggy and Aguero (-4) next week. Makes sense?

See a fair amount of people on here being forced into transfers that they won't be able to afford after rises/falls.

Feeling very thankful for the early-in-the-week transfers I made earlier to build TV, they've allowed me to save my 2 FTs until all the info was out. Plus I'm selling Sanchez and doing the Lukaku->Kun->Kaku spin, and I know for sure I'll be able to afford Alexis back in.

Anyone else feeling the benefits of building TV earlier? Or should I be worried about dropping so much of it with a WC to come?

    1. Kings of Lyon ★
      • 15 Years
      9 years, 27 days ago

I have a terrible TV and im in the same position as you. Aguero not being essential and great value picks has meant that TV is pretty irrelevant once again

    2. Holmes
      • 12 Years
      9 years, 27 days ago

Feeling the benefits of low TV, less options to choose from, so no headache 😉

    3. Epic Fail
      • 15 Years
      9 years, 27 days ago

You don't really feel the benefit because no matter what your TV, you make transfers based on your current budget, so it's hard to analyse what you would have done with a different budget.

      1. Dr. Mantis Toboggan
        • 9 Years
        9 years, 27 days ago

But since prices are always changing the purchasing power of your budget is too.
So if you know you want to do a transfer but would like to wait for FA cup, European games, and city conjuring a DGW up from nowhere, having the buffer of a higher budget to absorb some drops is a nice luxury.

        1. Epic Fail
          • 15 Years
          9 years, 27 days ago

Oh of course, having a high budget is always good if possible, but it's benefits are highly exaggerated. As below, chances are the difference might be something like Funes Mori over Baines.

But even so, at the moment there is a wealth of value budget options. I've had 2.5 m spare itb for a while now.

Yer . Every season for past 9 or 10 I've refused early transfers. I suffered last year in the dgw so this time I tried to play it different and it's worked so far. Only got 105.2 but it's better than most and I lost .5 last week alone so was up at 106

    5. FPLtfs
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

Those moves are possible even with a bad TV. Just means you'll have something like Funes Mori over Baines or Snodgrass over Antonio. I have good TV though, and think it will pay dividents when WCing before double gw.

    Considering the Man City DGW
The fact that they don't play gw28 and have a tough run of fixtures post gw28 are two players too many to have ?

    A) transfer in just Kun

Gotta be the double load up.

-4 to get them in, -4 to get them out - the DGW plus having more players than casuals in 28 will make up for the -8 lost in hits (though arguably it's -12 as you also need to readjust after the blanks - still, I think it'll be made up!)

      B yesterday &
      A today

I will debate this in my head for a while yet. Sooner the deadline is reached in GW27 the better !!

Trouble is I dont think there is a correct call.

Gamble A slightly less than Gamble B but the paybacks of Gamble A are potentially more then Gamble B.

Depends on that difference and it will be different for all as players going out hauls (every person has different exit players) need to be factored into the result.

So the Answer is it will be different for everyone and you need to do your own guess work....

      Aint that great

Hi all, I'm thinking I'll be on 10 for GW28 - just wondering what's better, really, between 2-5-2 or 3-4-2?

    Odd question, I know!

The midfield includes Fletcher; I'd possibly be bringing Firmino in for the 2-5-2, or Clyne in for the 3-4-2!

    Thanks!

Hopefully by breathing a sigh of relief - I'm light on Spurs players so I'm hoping he puts the gw out of reach of rivals with 2+ and/or makes it a big task for Kane (c)ers to match!

He has taken Spurs as far as he can. The same thing will keep happening over and over again until they get real squad depth.

Agree with this. In what way are Janssen, Tripper and Davies suitable backups for the likes of Rose, Walker and Kane. I think Spurs have so much potential with a core of players yet to reach their peaks, but they need support

Got to agree with you both here. I think if spurs had a few more decent squad players allowing them to rotate that bit more they would do so much better. Serious league contenders and do better in Europe.

    G2G?

    Hennessey
    Luiz - Brunt - Baines - Holgate
    Eriksen - Phillips - Firmino
    Lukaku(c) - Rondon - Kane

Grant - De Roon - Sanchez - Mustafi

There is the guy who seems to captain Lukaku when he hauls. Is he captaining him again?

    Carroll -> Rondon worth -4?

Only have Stanislas and Friend on bench (neither likely to play).

        🙂

I have had him for a while now. I will say NO to that move but I would suggest Stanislas to Snod.

Caroll may feature in GW28 & GW30 whereas Rondon only has GW27 & GW28 really.

Then again Ron is my armband man tomorrow.. cough..cough

I have a good idea of what he will do with it also but I am prepared!

Didn't like the earlier rumour that pulis may have said he has 1/2 niggles in the squad at present either.

May be another reason not to get Rondon

Asked earlier but looking for more suggestions -

My frontline is Lukaku - Ibra - Carroll

I have 1ft and I cannot field 11 players if I save the transfer 4.5m ITB

    Thoughts appreciated.

If you use the tfr, use it on a Hull, Swans Everton Wbrom defender. The less expensive the better and they play GW 28. Keep Ibra. save the ft and wait for news on Kun where Kaku can go for a week. Still 2 Ft's for Gw 28.

    Firmino v's Mane

So this is what I'm hearing - Mane is the consensus in here but Firmino is the right answer.

The extra 1m itb is tempting

    final thoughts please ?? 🙂

I was on Mane but with this City DGW thing I might just have to go Firmino. If that 1m is important to you then Firm is the obvious answer.
