The first double Gameweek of 2016/17 comes to its conclusion at the Etihad tonight as Manchester City take on Stoke City at 8pm.

Pep Guardiola’s decision to rotate has hit owners of Raheem Sterling hard – the winger has been rested for tonight’s match and fails to even make the bench.

It’s a bitter blow for the 338,000+ managers who drafted Sterling in for the double – they’re left with six points in Gameweek 27 after he provided the assist for Sergio Aguero’s opener at Sunderland.

There’s no concerns over Aguero, though, as he leads the line once again.

Handed the armband by 12.6% of Fantasy Premier League managers and Triple Captained by over 159,000, the Argentine has produced two goals and an assist in each of his previous two home appearances.

Leroy Sane also retains his role in Pep’s XI. The German is currently City’s top scoring player of the Gameweek after notching the second at the Stadium of Light to return a ten-point haul.

Those holding David Silva and John Stones are left frustrated as the duo drop to the bench, with Kevin De Bruyne returning to the teamsheet after a stint as a sub away to the Black Cats. A big performance would go some way to vindicating the decision of 6,937 FPL managers to play their Triple Captain chip on the Belgian.

After delivering a third clean sheet in four, City’s prospects of more defensive returns were handed a boost after Marko Arnautovic failed to recover from the illness that forced him off against Middlesbrough at the weekend.

The Austrian is currently the top scoring double Gameweek 27 player after bagging both goals in the 2-0 win over Aitor Karanka’s side.

Up top, Peter Crouch’s appeal as a budget third striker now seems far from secure – the target man’s run of ten league starts comes to an end as he drops to the bench, with new boy Saido Berahino handed a first start.

You need to go Kun to Kane either this week to beat the price changes or next week for a free transfer.

Phillips is a doubt and his upcoming fixtures are terrible, I would upgrade him to Coutinho or Firmino.

That would give you Mane and another Liverpool forward vs. Burnley, after City next week they don't have a double game week but very nice fixtures.

I am doing Amat to Olson for -4

Amat about to drop, Olson rise, plus he's a likely starter so even if they concede it'll only be a -2 and then you have a stronger squad long term

Coleman Evans Baines (A: Stones to Olsson/Mawson)
Siggy Mane Lanzini Phillips (B: Sterling to Coutinho/Firmino)
    Llorente Lukaku

Bench: Kane Alonso Valdes ( Sterling or Stones)

    A or B for 1 hit?

    GW28 team

    Jaku

    Holgate, Mawson, Nyom

    Siggy, Mane, Firmino

    Llorente, Lukaku, Barnes

    Grant, Walker, Alonso, Eriksen, Sanchez

Took a -8 already, got £2.3m in the bank

What do you reckon? Need anymore? Eriksen to Coutinho for a week? Not sure

I think Josh King is a great short term punt.(WHU SWA sot) that is going under the radar. Agree?.

He has 6 goals in last 9 and For people who says he relies only.on pens. from those 6 goals only 2 was from pens.

      Yes!

    2. Pep says
      • 10 Years
      9 years, 22 days ago

Not really I'd your not gonna be playing the Swans defender after. Amat could make a 1point cameo. You need a goal or assist from the defender for it to pay off

      1. My Name Is Prince
        • 13 Years
        9 years, 22 days ago

No he doesn't, Amat doesn't play, only 1 point cameos every now and then, would be madness not to sell! Could be Maguire/Robertson though....

Yes, true, but I'd want to be more prepared for possible injuries, or to have good defensive rotation, it of course depends on his current defense... But in general, I'd rather have a playing 5th defender than Amat just in case, and GW28 is an ideal time to make the switch imo...

    Jaku Pickford

Think Brunt needs to go first to Walker?

Ya rules me out of Coutinho to Sanchez if I want that option. Can still do Mane to Sanchez though. Maybe Sanchez won't necessary. Davies worth a punt? Thinking Rose's return could be delayed..

I can't afford Walker with my midfield plan (Sanchez - Alli - Mane - Siggy) so was looking forward to Rose... Depends on the news.... Davies would be great punt if Rose's comeback is delayed.... What are the latest on him anyway?

Not sure but he's a month late as currently expected. Davies is adapting well to the role too so he mightnt be rushed straight back in. Nice free trade for Brunt but it's not clear enough yet

In need of some help here guys. Already used my FT with 1.4M in the bank.
For the upcoming week I have this team:

    Jakupovic
    Coleman - Amat - Brunt
    Phillips - Manè - Sigurdsson - Grosicki
    Lukaku - Llorente

Bench: Heaton, Agüero, Hazard, Alonso, Vertonghen

Amat is obviously not playing and Phillips is a big question mark, so really just 8-9 players available. Probably gonna take a hit with Firmino/Coutinho for Hazard (who to choose and why??). Should I also take the opportunity to transfer out Amat while I have the chance? Thinking just a switch to Olsson or Mawson. As it cost -4, I'm almost guaranteed to not lose more than 2-3 points on that transfer..

The plan for the next couple of weeks are:
GW29: Phillips and Agüero out for Alli and Kane.
    GW30: Costa for Lukaku.

What do you guys think? Firmino vs Coutinho? Olsson/Mawson? (worth a hit?) What to do with Phillips?

Do the Amat one and follow your 29GW plan

Id rather Alli and Kane over 2 Lpool mids

        • 10 Years
        9 years, 22 days ago

        But I can do both?

        Cout/Firm - Siggy - Alli - Manè
        Kane - Llorente - Lukaku

Is my plan for GW29.. Stupid to go all out on Spurs, Swansea and Liverpool maybe, but I feel like they score a lot of goals and these players are always involved..

    2. Pep says
      • 10 Years
      9 years, 22 days ago

Hull much better in the air lately so Mawson's goal threat is slightly diminished. Play Bournemouth next though where is aerial threat will be a big advantage. Coin toss I'd say.

Leave Phillips for this week if you're getting rid in 29

Hazard has 2 good fixtures in 29 and 30 and City away in 31 is the kinda game he'll return in so id keep unless you wanna free up funds and chance Pedro for the run in. Or maybe Costa will be enough cover

        • 10 Years
        9 years, 22 days ago

Yeah.. Haven't watched Swansea games so don't know how offensive Olsson is to be honest.. Though call..

Bit tired of Hazard to be honest. Doesn't feel like he is the threat he needs to be for that price. If he blanked vs West Ham it would've been a no-brainer, but the goal makes me hesitate a bit.. Thinking maybe Costa will be enough offensive Chelsea cover?

So glad I watched that Barca game. Was absolutely outstanding. Even made up for the Kun TC.

Simply incredible, Luis Enrique's reaction video circling social media is amazing...can't believe they'll get rid of him in the summer

He has been poor in some, but the decision to go to a 3-1-3-3ish formation was brilliant. He's going out with a bang!

That Eriksen drop is the final kick in the stones for another miserable GW...Alli and Lukaku (and keeping Ibra) -->> Kun (TC) & Sterling (-4) has to go down as the worst outcome of transfers in a long long time. OR drop from 91K to 103K, mentally fatigued and genuinely over this season> Rant over 🙁

Wouldn't worry about the Eriksen drop, he can easily get double digits in his next game and they have a great run..

Guys ive found something interesting. Each time Lanzini score or assist he gets 2 or 3 baps (apart from gw5).

    Lets compared to Antonio.

    2 or more baps:

    - Antonio- Only 2 gws

    - Lanzini- 6 gws

Lanzini being a baps magnet, better form and 0.5 cheaper than Antonio should give him the edge over Antonio right?

I don't exactly see Lanzini as an fpl player personally, think he's vastly overachieving in FPL as of late. Maybe that's just me.

Whereas Antonio is simply FPL gold in my eyes.

He's good to have when likely to play in the hole too.

Should have left him in but played sterling and benched in fear of chelski

Best GK for post 28 onwards?

Have 9.9m / both burnley keepers at the moment

Looking for long term fix w/ eyes on doubles

Think come the doubles, the more expensive goalies could be worth the punt. Values and Pickford also good options with a double each.

    GTG?
    Jaku
    Coleman Baines Brunt Amat
    Siggy(VC) Milner Snoddy Phillips
    Lukaku(C) Llorente

Subs - Grant Alonso Hazard Kane

I'm already on -4. Do I do Haz for Mane for -8? It's not worth it is it

Performance from Man City yesterday was poor. What is most frustrating is the amount of sideways passing. I am all for keeping the ball, but when you have a team that is parking the bus then you have to run at the heart of the defence and make them commit. It is that which creates space for other players. Too much trying to thread it through and Sane kept passing it when he should have taken the defender on.

    Jaku (Foster)
    Williams Brunt (Alonso* PVA* Holebas*)
    Siggy Mane Phillips (Eriksen* Sterling*)
    Diomande (Ibra* Kun*)

1FT 1.2m ITB....Currently fielding 7 (if Diomande and Phillips get gametime)

is Ibra & Sterling --> Lukaku & Firmino/Coutinho (-4) the best shout for this GW?

    Hi all,
Considering Ibra>Llorente for -4 then Negredo>Kane next week. Sound worth a hit?

    Jaku
    Holgate Evans Robertson
    Hazard* Mane(C) Siggy Phillips
    Negredo* Lukaku(vc) Ibra*

    Heaton* Alonso* Capoue* Walker*

I know brother. But the 'part of football' argument doesn't mean it's ok. But listen, I'm not getting annoyed with you, let's not have a dispute about it. In the end, it is amazing and congrats. Just saying the means by which it happened was not alright 🙂
