Tuesday Player Picks

Fixtures
Juventus v Porto
Leicester v Sevilla

Kasper Schmeichel – Leicester City – $4,400 – G
A combination of a budget-friendly price tag, home comforts and an upturn in form have us turning to the Foxes’ stopper. Leicester were defeated 2-1 in Spain, which means even a 1-0 victory would see them through to the next stage.

We’re expecting Craig Shakespeare to focus on a resilient showing, then, and utilise counter-attacks as the main route to goal. Even if they concede, Schmeichel should still be kept busy by the La Liga outfit, with two points on offer per save in DraftKings.

Dani Alves – Juventus – $5,600 – D
The Brazilian has now recorded back-to-back Serie A assists in front of his own fans, having teed up the opener in Juventus’ weekend win AC Milan from a right flank role. If Alves retains a position in midfield for the visit of Porto, his points potential at both ends of the pitch could be too good to ignore.

An average of 11.1 Fantasy Points Per Game (FPPG) includes a steady 106 crosses in 26 appearances, which are each worth 0.75 points in DraftKings. Furthermore, the former Barcelona man has already demonstrated his attacking capabilities at this level, serving up a goal and pair of assists in the group stages before netting a second of the campaign in the first leg in Portugal.

Paulo Dybala – Juventus – $8,300 – M/F
Deployed in the number ten role by Massimiliano Allegri against AC Milan at the weekend, the Argentine’s spot-kick winner was his fifth goal in seven outings across all competitions in a run that also includes three assists.

An average of 12.5 FPPG this term is slightly better than the pricier Gonzalo Higuain ($9,000), highlighting Dybala’s value for money as Juventus look to secure a place in the last eight.

DK1

Andre Silva – Porto – $6,400 – F
The Portuguese side have won their last two league fixtures 4-0 and 7-0 ahead of the trip to Italy so should be in a confident mood, though overturning a two-goal deficit at the Serie A leaders is a daunting prospect.

Certainly, Silva is most likely to be the key to any comeback – he’s scored 19 goals and served up seven assists in 31 Liga Nos and Champions League appearances this campaign.

Stevan Jovetic – Sevilla – $7,700 – F
Snapped up on loan from Man City, Jovetic has started five of Sevilla’s last six matches across all competitions and was among the goals in a weekend draw against Leganes.

The Spanish outfit fired 22 attempts to Leicester’s seven in the first-leg and, sitting third in La Liga, are likely to dominate once again at the King Power Stadium. Jovetic supplied an assist in that narrow 2-1 win and we expect him to be instrumental again tomorrow night.

Wednesday Player Picks

Fixtures
Atletico v Bayer Leverkusen
Monaco v Manchester City

Jan Oblak – Atletico – $5,400 – G
After keeping back-to-back clean sheets in La Liga, the Slovenian is a clear front-runner for the keeper slot in this slate alongside veteran Gianluigi Buffon ($5,600). The Atletico defence conceded twice in the first leg at the BayArena but will be more difficult to break down at the Vicente Calderon, where they have kept nine clean sheets in 16 home ties in the league and Europe this term.

A struggling Bayer Leverkusen visit having failed to pick up a victory since the reverse fixture – Oblak looks well set for points from a win and a shut-out here, then.

Wendell – Bayer Leverkusen – $4,400 – D
We had earmarked the highly rated Benjamin Henrichs for Leverkusen’s trip to Atletico but, with the right-back sidelined through suspension, we’re turning to his fellow full-back instead.

Wendell’s raids down the left flank served up a goal and assist in his previous away appearance for the German outfit and an average of 10.5 FPPG so far this season is more than any defensive team-mate.

Raheem Sterling – Manchester City – $7,800 – M/F
The winger prodcued an assist in the FA Cup win at Middlesbrough to continue a consistent run of form in which he’s provided attacking returns in ten of his last 14 appearances across all competitions.

Sterling bagged a goal and assist when Monaco visited the Etihad last time out, which contributed to a strong score of 24 points. With the onus on the Ligue 1 side to attack, Sterling’s pace should be put to good use once again in the reverse fixture.

DK2

Antoine Griezmann – Atletico – $8,700 – M/F
It’s difficult to overlook the prolific Frenchman when Atletico welcome a Leverkusen side that conceded six goals in their last away match (a 6-2 defeat at Dortmund).

Griezmann boasts some impressive form, netting four goals in his previous trio of La Liga matches. He also notched in the 4-2 victory over Leverkusen in the opening match of the tie – bringing his tally to four goals and two assists in seven Champions League outings this season.

Radamel Falcao – Monaco – $7,000 – F
The Colombian’s eye for goal may well make the difference if Monaco are to overcome a 5-3 first-leg against Manchester City, with a brace at the Etihad last time out his second two-goal haul in four Champions League outings this campaign.

Utilised as a sub at the weekend due to a minor groin problem, Falcao still found time to emerge from the bench to claim an assist. With 16 goals in as many starts in the league, he’ll surely be unleashed from the off against Pep Guardiola’s defence.

    Hello, DZ.

    Pickford
    Baines - Coleman - Walker
    Firmino - Coutinho - King - Snodgrass
    Aguero - Lukaku - Rondon

    Jaku - Grosicki - Amat - Ake

I'm looking at Rondon to Gabbiadini in GW30 (and think Rondon could score this week against Arsenal), so for this week, would you:

    A) Play it safe, save the transfer so I have two for the IB, and be fine with Grosicki coming on if Snod fails to recover.

    B) Hedge the bet and just do Snod to Siggy.

    C) Be a little more ballsy and do both Snod to Siggy, and Firm/Cout to Sanchez for a -4.

    Cheers!!

Thanks for the feedback! Though I think Rondon's chances are better than Grosicki's this week, to be honest. Arsenal's defense doesn't scare me, and I think Rondon will be a threat with a week off.

Didn't see that... yeh Grosicki might be the one to move to Siggy instead of Snoddy. I have little faith in Rondon but go with your gut.

Thanks. That's a tough call. I'm leaning Snoddy out instead of Grosicki simply because of his assuredness of starts (still not confident Snod will start every week), and I really like how attacking Grosicki has looked. It might be a blind spot (just like with Rondon), but I like the look of him and Hull's fixtures.

Take a risk this week and WC over the break I'd say. Rondon, Snoddy, Baines, Amat, Ake, Firmino and Coutinho all need the boot

Thanks. I'll wait and see on the wildcard. With minimal hits I'd be able to do Snod to Siggy, Coutinho to Sanchez, Rondon to Gabbiadini, and Baines to Valencia (and, eventually, Aguero to Ibra for the doubles).

Having fourth and fifth defenders is useless (and not worth wildcarding for, in my opinion), and getting rid of both Pool midfielders seems a bit, um, kneejerky, no? I mean, they just thrashed Arsenal. How quickly we forget.

So semi finalists and their opposition will play 1 GW 34?
And sides like Chelsea Spurs Arsenal Soton must have a DGW before GW34?

TGW is very unlikely. Likely to be a DGW for Arsenal/S'ton in 35 or 36.
Chelsea, Spurs, Man City and many others will have a DGW in 37.
Man Utd will have DGW34 and 37.

I agree, would leave Haz and downgrade Costa as a first preference for that very reason. Can't see any other way for you to free up cash though as your other picks are solid. you could go haz to Tadic if you fancy a punt though as SOU will have two DGWs. Although, minutes probably still a concern with Tadic too.

Looks pretty good, will have a benching headache some weeks, but I am not against it and see it as having choices. Could go Yoshi instead of Bertrand if you want a bit more spare cash. Also might want to consider Caballero for Robles. City have an easy run in and have kept a few CS recently. Could be a good punt. I am planning on the Pickford/Caballero pairing myself when I WC next GW.

That wasn't his question but yes. United had an EFL and FA Cup game that caused postponements of 2 PL fixtures. Chelsea just had a FA Cup so only 1 to be rescheduled for them.

Ok cat amongst the pigeons anyone even consider not having Ibra in for GW 34 dgw, those fixture don't look easy whatever they are and some big hitter on sgw in 34 could be good captain duffs. Much like Kun v Kane in 27

Think we have enough information to wc now. If my team wasn't in such a mess and I hadnt made the rookie error of pulling the trigger on Kun to Kane on Saturday I would like to hold off. But got a top 10k gw rank in 28 so happy and alas, loving the look of my wc team and maybe it will be a blessing in disguise (crosses fingers and toes and prays for no international duty injuries)

Wow, 3rd times a charm, just posted this on 2 other posts first that were hours old o.O ....

How important is Sanchez for these next few GW... is he worth:

    Aguero + Mane/Alli > Costa + Sanchez for a -4?

Mane or Alli are the only mids i can put out and afford Sanchez. I was concerned he'd be further up the C poll, and I hate not at least owning the fav.

    Pickford / Foster
    Alonso / Baines / Brunt / Daniels / Love
    Mane / Alli / Siggurdson / Antonio / King
    Aguero / Lukaku / Gray

Hm, so you have to get rid of two good fpl-players for a -4. Tough decision

You've got a bit of cash locked up in your defense and your 8th attacker. So what you propose is the only quick option if you want Costa. Otherwise get Gabbi or Defoe and upgrade Antonio to Sanchez. I'd lose king or Gray to bench fodder and same with Brunt when you can to free up cash.

Thats it exactly... I would do Gabi, as was my next weeks transfer anyway, but I'm a little scared going into 29 with only one big hitter striker, and I don't fancy Gabi against a Spurs with all to play for .

Ok people see Pickford being put forward as a dgw keeper but Gw34 is against Arsenal so can't see how there is a dgw there so more likely to be GW 37 which is a long way away. Valdez looks a better optio for dgw 34 to me. Am I missing something here? Thanks

Davies vs Walker stats are quite interesting in comparison over the last 4. Anything think he's a solid pick?

Still no news on Rose training and Spurs fans think he'll be out for longer than the club are saying.

      Replay fail first effort...

I think he's a great pick at the price but I guess you just need to be prepared for Rose's return. Having said that, if Rose still hasn't returned to training (which they said would be early-April) Davies may well still be starting up until mid-April.

That could give him as many as few as 2 games or as many as 5.

Ok based on the theory of 34 being a dgw for utd, mid, cry and palace without a WC this is the best I can do for 34. Need 7 transfers none left this week so that would be 2 hits before 34.
Does this mean I should WC early rather than between 34 and 36?
