Leicester come good to make the quarter-finals of the Champions League on a special, if at times frantic, night at the King Power Stadium.

Leicester City 2 Sevilla 0 (3-2 on aggregate)

Sevilla became Craig Shakespeare’s third consecutive victim since taking over from Claudio Ranieri, but the new manager, just like his predecessor, had Kasper Schmeichel to thank for keeping the Spaniards at bay.

Wes Morgan nudged home a Riyad Mahrez dead-ball delivery to level the tie on aggregate before the break of a pulsating tie and Marc Albrighton made it two when Sevilla failed to clear Mahrez’ cross just a minute after the visitors had hit the bar at the other end.

Waves of Sevilla pressure followed – even Samir Nasri’s sending-off for two bookable offences failed to stem the flow – and they had a golden chance to take the match into extra-time when they were awarded a debatable penalty, only for Schmeichel to save his second spot-kick of the tie.

Shakespeare named an unchanged side for the third match in a row and, thanks to his keeper’s heroics, the Foxes finally kept a clean sheet for the first time since a Gameweek 20 stalemate away at Middlesbrough.

That should put the likes of Morgan, Schmeichel and Christian Fuchs back on our radars with the Foxes blessed with a favourable run of short-term fixtures, plus the promise of a double Gameweek to come.

A Gameweek 29 trip to West Ham will provide a test, though home matches with Stoke and Sunderland in the subsequent two could certainly see their assets from back to front enjoy investment as differentials.

Last season’s key attacking pair – Mahrez and Vardy – will surely be considered during this spell.

Found in 8.0% and 8.1% of squads respectively, that ownership is surely made up of largely inactive teams. However, the next three fixtures offer an excellent platform for the pair to blossom further.

Vardy, in particular, could be a tempting prospect for those of us trying to re-jig forward lines missing the suspended Zlatan Ibrahimovic for two matches and the injured Harry Kane for, potentially, a lot longer.

The possible fallout from Romelu Lukaku’s rejection of a new Everton contract could be another factor to consider when looking at Vardy, who has two goals, an assist and 18 points from Shakespeare’s pair of league matches in charge.

It’s a sign of the growing faith in the Foxes’ striker that almost 14,000 Fantasy Premier League managers have now taken the plunge since last weekend’s deadline, as more look to the King Power club to maintain that recent momentum and steer themselves to safety over the run-in.

In terms of dates for the quarter-finals, the first leg will take place on April 11-12 (between a Gameweek 32 trip to Everton on April 9 and Gameweek 33 visit to Palace on April 15) and the second leg on April 18-19, though Leicester are currently without a Gameweek 34 fixture due to FA Cup postponements.

Leicester City XI: Schmeichel, Simpson, Huth, Morgan, Fuchs, Albrighton, Ndidi, Drinkwater, Mahrez (Amartey 90), Okazaki (Slimani 64), Vardy.
Subs not used: Zieler, Chilwell, King, Gray, Ulloa.

Its H2H draft league. Im 5 point behind the league leader.

I have Kane who is out but I cant get rid of him because someone will snap him up... so I need a partner for Defoe, but the options are limited!

Sky showing a 10/11 season review. Brunt took two penalties in a game and scored both. Is he actually on penalties? They haven't had one since September and that was before Brunt returned from injury.

They do say don't take a hit for a defender but in this case it's def worth the hit imo! If you bring in Valencia:
      A. He's playing MID and is almost guaranteed a 6 pointer.
      B. He's a player you will keep and MUN have two more games to play than WBA.
      C. WBA have horrendous upcoming fixtures.

Realy? Vardy on the bench over Barnes? Leicester is better team, Leicester is in momentum, vardy is overall better than Barnes. Its not impossible that Barnes outscore Vardy, like its not impossible that Ramsey outscore Sanchez but still you know who will be always the first choise

Not sure how many he's taken mate but I do remember that argument between him and Lamela for one earlier in the season. I know Eriksen doesn't take pens (or has never taken) for Spurs.

I'm just concerned about sanchez vs WB going absolutely crazy.

Would wait to see how arsenal/sanchez peform. Better one week to late than early on this one. Deeney is terrible imo. Defoe the proven one will get goals against anyone. Gabbi on form had 2 doubles

Yeah fair enough. Might be sold on the Sanchez one, which is nice as I can avoid the -4 this week.

Still not convinced on Gabbi just yet (will probably bite me in the arse). Defoe has blanked in his last three so form isn't great. Deeney has been ticking over nicely recently and his fixtures are so damn good!

      Like it.

I'm considering something similar myself (except fletcher instead of snoddy).

      Torn between Deeney/Defoe/Gabbi though...

Given KDB didn't start one of the DGW games... Do I keep a hold for the Liverpool game or downgrade him to a sure thing?

    Possibly

Cool. That's my thinking. Far too uncertain a selection for me and he hasn't really lit it up either.

Kane > Vardy madness or differential?

Differential, if you can stil call it a differential considering the lack of competition at the premium end.

I'm not sure about getting rid of Kane...Obviously he's not gonna play this week but the following week is the international break. Surely there's a good chance of him only missing one gameweek and being back for Burnley no?

I think it's extremely likely he will miss several weeks.

facts are thin on the ground right now, but even a minor sprain takes a few weeks . if its quite minor likelihood is he'll miss the following.

      Southampton (H) – Sun 19 Mar
      Burnley (A) – Sat 1 Apr
      Swansea (A) – Wed 5 Apr

      Could be much more though.

Really don't know what to do with Hazard.
The guy is delivering points on an acceptable ROI rate but I just can't help thinking he is not that much of a good pick.
He is my only Chelsea coverage but I am wondering sould I stick with him.
What do you owners do for the next few games?

I've actually got him in this week! I totally see the argument against him but he seems to be playing with so much confidence the past few games I'm taking a gamble on him.
