A trio of Josh Kings saved the Gameweek for the ScoutCast regulars, steering Jonty, Andy and myself to respectability, despite a scattering of ill-fated transfer hits. Meanwhile, AZ drops in with his own unique solution to the curtailed Gameweek 28, as he deals a controversial early Wildcard to help prepare for the choppy waters.

The Wildcard is a key focus of this week’s episode, as we extend our recent Hot Topic to the ScoutCast airwaves, arguing the optimum time to activate the most precious of chips.

Elsewhere, we spare a moment to weigh up the “essential” status of the aforementioned Cherries midfielder, consider the recent unrest surrounding Sanchez and Lukaku and discuss the fall-out from Kane’s twanged ankle.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link or the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Morning dzz, So many decisions...3.9m itb

    Heaton -- Grant
Valencia Coleman Stones -- Mcauly Robertson
Mane Barkley Siggy Sterling -- Fletcher
    Kaku Kun Lloriente

    A: Sterling >> Alli/Sanchez/Son
    B: Stones >> B.davies...stones/mcauly have tough fixtures
    C: A&B combined for a hit
D: Save FT..as sterling has been surprisingly very consistent and playing old team.

    Best option?

    A) Lallana/Coutinho ➡ Alli
    B) Coutinho/Lallana ➡ Sanchez
    C) Both (-4)

Feel like giving Coutinho a chance against City he's done well against them. But in that case Alli or Sanchez?

    Appreciate your thoughts!

Just wouldn't take the risk. Got taken off on the hour. He's good etc but we know Sanchez is a machine, West Brom are on holiday and Arsenal normally do well now and close in on fourth. He's got doubles coming up for sure, so it's a set and forget.

2 people have trasferred in Takuma Asano. Arsenal's forward who is awaiting a work permit. 6 have transferred him out.

    Who are these people?

Are most folks moving to a 3-5-2? If so who up front with Lukaku now that Kane is injured?

Sticking with 3-4-3. I can't see any reason to shift to 3-5-2 there many options.

      Costa - Lukaku - Defoe/Gabbi/Deeney

Ibra will be back in 2 gameweeks with 2 DGWs.

Do you not think there are way more good midfield options than strikers though? Especially given arsenal, spurs & liverpool's attacks literally do not have an FPL forward. Then the cut price bargains like josh king, siggy, son etc. Plus mids score more points for a goal & get CS points... I think in the long run there is a shift potentially towards attacking/OOP mids

I've played 433 nearly every week and am at 14k OR, my best ever. Midfield is such a minefield. Sanchez Mané Siggy King Alli would be great, I can't really see any other midfielders I'd like. Maybe Hazard.

This is also true. Had Koscielny Brunt Alonso Rose for most of the season and everyone kept telling me to downgrade to fit into their beloved 343. If you reckon you can make it work- go for it!

I'm undecided between haz & costa. I could see the last 10 games being all about haz where the first 20 were all about Costa.

Tough. Could be, in fact. I usually avoid hits, but except City to have tough time after the Monaco clash, while it has been not so hard to score against Southampton since they have been lining up a Championship level pair of CB's and a completely out of form GK. If you can really expect Son to start upfront, I think there are good chances that he will score, which would justify the transfer.

So, ManU is going to miss Herrera, Pogba and Zlatan this weekend, and are playing away early Sunday afternoon after a tight EL match? Looks like Middlesbrough could be up for a surprise, but with their scoring problems and Mourinho's pragmatism, a boredraw much likelier than home win?

    1. noquarternt
      • 10 Years
      8 years, 9 months ago

Yeah definitely. So lucky they're playing Boro. A team like Everton would be rubbing their hands.

      1. Camp No No
        • 12 Years
        8 years, 9 months ago

Yeah, or Southampton that was postponed last week.

I particularly think, if there's anything of Karanka's good defensive setup left, ManU could face great difficulties to score. Just don't want to bet on Boro starting to score now.

It doesn't take much for one team to score bear in mind.

You can get 3-1 on Arsene being Arsenal manager for their first Premier League match next season. All this mad ArsenalFanTV etc stuff will have quietened down and he'll sign the contract.

          1. Camp No No
            • 12 Years
            8 years, 9 months ago

Of course, it doesn't take much, but this match has boredraw written all over it. Only thing I fear is the slight unpredictability of a team that just changed manager, but usually they first try their best not to lose, right? Although in this case, since Karanka likely was fired because of lack of attack, they might have pressure to show some more intent, but it just looks like plain suicidal for a smaller team to go attacking against Mourinho away and let them counter.

I already put my money on Allegri the next manager before the odds fell. 🙂

Still is not a bad bet, Arsene staying, I agree.

You never know. Something like 40% of top 10k owned Kane last week. It's what you make of the opportunities that arise. Not a lot of time left, so if you can spot a winner you might get a week or two head start on rivals.

Well i had was only King owner in my ML last week which was a big help. I'm just look around the top 5 teams in my ML and plan accordingly.

None of my rivals own Gabbi for example or Defoe. I also want to get in another big defender to go with Alonso/Coleman. I have a superior TV over rivals so need to make it count in my favor.

Me neither but he is fit so a hit to Defoe might not pay off and Gabbi would be 1 week too early!

Looks ok. Coutinho out seems to be about 50/50 here, and later hit may pay for itself.
        Think I'd lose Snodgrass though.

You have 10 of the same 11 as me for this week!

Only difference is I have Mawson where you have Baines.

If it helps, I'm planning GW30 Lukaku to Gabbi (for the tough couple of fixtures) and McAuley - Walker.

I reckon Walker / Valencia is a coinflip but I'll be likely getting DDG for the DGW.

Kingsley confirmed by Clement as starting and Naughton confirmed by Clement as fit. Nothing is 100% but this is a bit more than probably imho.

I even expect a young right back called Connor Roberts (been training with first team squad for a while now) to get his first match day call up to cover the fullback spots off the bench.

Replacement for Kane & Coutinho.... already have Lukaku & Llorente... Need some suggestion Guys...

        A. Gabbi & Alli
        B. Gabbi & Sanchez

I would hold on the Gabbi and Sanchez transfers for this week. Sanchez could pose as a huge benefit this week but with him put out again on the wings, his prospects of scoring goals has reduced. Sanchez looks essential from GW 31 onwards and Gabbi from next week. Coutinho to Alli but since you have Kane, I would make the early move and get Gabbi in and bench him.

So Alli and Gabbi for now.

Yeah, it really sucks that Kane looks to drop tonight while Gabbi probably rises.

I'm in the same position myself and would prefer to keep Kane benched this week and avoid a hit. Although that means .2m loss (+ sale "tax" from Kane) which could be annoying later on.

Smith hasn't scored since the first game of the season, Mawson is the highest scoring defender in 2017 in all 5 of Europe's leading leagues ... and you don't have to bother yourself about clean sheets either ... so Mawson

First match I brought in smith, he got an assist, 6 point haul. Since then he has had 1-2 points pr. Round. Mawson is a good pick. Can just leave him in team as long as he don't get injured.

Morning all. Thoughts appreciated on these options (I own Eriksen). It's decision day! :

          A. Aguero Mané Coutinho (save)
          B. Aguero Sanchez Coutinho
          C. Aguero Mane Allí
          D. Costa Mané Sanchez (-4)

          Cheers

Yes I agree I don't see Costa getting more than 1 goal and even Carroll could get 1.

Coutinho has done well in the past against City. And City must be tired and deflated after Monaco.
