A trio of Josh Kings saved the Gameweek for the ScoutCast regulars, steering Jonty, Andy and myself to respectability, despite a scattering of ill-fated transfer hits. Meanwhile, AZ drops in with his own unique solution to the curtailed Gameweek 28, as he deals a controversial early Wildcard to help prepare for the choppy waters.

The Wildcard is a key focus of this week’s episode, as we extend our recent Hot Topic to the ScoutCast airwaves, arguing the optimum time to activate the most precious of chips.

Elsewhere, we spare a moment to weigh up the “essential” status of the aforementioned Cherries midfielder, consider the recent unrest surrounding Sanchez and Lukaku and discuss the fall-out from Kane’s twanged ankle.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link or the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Biggest 3 mistakes this season from myself

    1) Baines > Coleman
    2) Bringing out Alexis to get in Aguero
    3) Only owning Lukaku now

What are your biggest mistakes so far

Stubbornly not getting in Alonso. Since getting him he's had no cleanies
Also false sentiment to Kun for a large portion of the season

finishing a whole bottle of Merry's Irish cream with a friend after too much wine and beer

and Baines over Coleman, taking Sanchez out for Hazard, not having McCauley

      2 - Persisting with Pogba & Bony

Happy Paddy's Day to you all... (Lá Fhéile Pádraig Sona Duit)

Hope you can assist with my quick WC query.. I am looking to plan ahead and determine players TV to me when I WC

If I WC and wish to retain some of my existing players....

    During wildcarding process
Do I simply deselect players I no longer wish to keep (retaining their tv)
    Or
Are all players automatically deselected and i must select 15 new players (loosing their tv)

Same as making transfers, just select the players you wish to take out and keep the ones you want / have value tied up in. Only difference is can do as many transfers through the week as you wish, for free!

Ars defence has been pants all season and I don't see that getting better. Just my opinion.
Theo is too much of a punt at this stage as I think you have enough with Son.
I'm more of a Deeney fan than Llorente but that's just personal preference I guess.

Yeah I don't mind the double up with DDG as long as you don't want a MU mid when the doubles roll around. Mata may be a good differential then.
Pedro is a decent price and ahead of Willian in the pecking order. Or Son > King and Theo > Eriksen/Manè ?

Nice. Assuming u want to play gabbi soon tho. Who do u put on bench? Llorente or son?

Torn between the 3 Spurs midfielders. If I bring in Son for Firmino I can afford Fletcher - > Antonio next week. If I get Alli/Eriksen I won't have much left in bank.

However I think Alli/Eriksen will be in line for more points... thoughts?

Kane out is a massive blow for Spurs. Alli and Eriksen won't have as much space anymore. Even if their fixtures are great, I think there are going to be a few upsets. First one will be against SOU.

Think they might lose their mojo a bit without Kane

Not a terrible thought. But I can't see past Lukaku.

From dominating my mini league, to barely holding on now. Want to wait until next week to do a wildcard.

      How can I improve this?
      Heaton/Jaku
      Coleman / Brunt / Olsson / Holebas / Amat
      Eriksen / Barkley / Sanchez / Allen / Stanislas
      Lukaku / Costa / Niang

      2.7 itb
Wouldn't mind doing 2 transfers - thinking Stanislas & Niang

        Brunt ➡ Valencia
        Stan ➡ King

        Wildcard away next week.

I have too many players with a decent fixture. Maybe a luxury problem but also a benching dilemma. And I maybe want to get Sanchez. West Brom might get hammered this weekend.
Maybe Aguero+Lanzini --> Costa+Sanchez for a hit? But then I would need to bench Antonio (LEI) probably.
Or just be patient and save the FT for the international break and more info about the DGWs?
      Some advice would be welcome.

      Heaton (sun)
Alonso (stk), Coleman (HUL), Walker (SOU)
Mané (mci), Siggy (bou), Antonio (LEI), King (SWA)
Lukaku (c) (HUL), Aguero (LIV), Llorente (bou)

Bench: Lanzini (LEI), Mawson (bou), Evans (ARS)
      1 FT
      3.1 ITB

      A) Kane & Coutinho > Costa and Sanchez (-4)
      B) de Roon > King (FT)

      Jaku
      Coleman - Alonso - Walker
      Alli - King - Mane - Sigurdsson
      Lukaku - Llorente - Costa

      Mannone, Brunt, T.Carroll, Robertson

      0 FT, 4.1 INB

Any suggestions or am I good?

I would personally love to get rid of Mannone for Pickford, but I'm not sure if it's worth a hit... Having already used my wildcard earlier, I don't know when I would get a better chance to fix my 2nd GK :/

        From DesertBug (Everton Fan);

"Combo, maybe. He was pretty bad in the prior match, but I think that he is still the way forward. RK will bench people when he doesn't think he's getting what he should out of them. He sat Barkley for a while earlier this season. Seems his current style.

I think also, that he saw a West Brom team that wasn't overly speedy, and felt that he could get away with starting the slower Jags and practically immobile Barry, giving them some game time at an optimal time. Hull this weekend, while lower in the table, is a far pacier side, with Clucas and Grosicki, and would be a disaster to put Jags and Barry in against them. He doesn't always get lineup right, though. If he starts Jags and Barry this weekend, I'll be screaming."
