Alexis Sanchez is taking his turn as the latest heavy-hitter to cause us consternation.

Brought in by more than 91,000 Fantasy Premier League managers ahead of today’s trip to West Brom, the Chilean produced a typically superb goal for the Gunners that, ultimately, was to prove a mere consolation.

Interrupted by recent postponements, his first half strike in the 3-1 defeat means that Sanchez has now provided a goal or an assist in eight of his last nine Gameweeks – a record that ensures he remains the top scoring FPL asset.

An inevitable transfer target with Arsenal due to play another 11 matches over the remaining nine Gameweeks, today nonetheless provided further food for thought for those holding or considering a Sanchez acquisition.

His performance at The Hawthorns started so brightly – the goal punctuating a superb opening period of the game for Sanchez, full of endeavour and neat flicks.

If there were any concerns surrounding his performance levels dipping as a result of recent speculation surrounding his future at the club, they were dispelled in those opening 30 minutes

Then came the clattering challenge from West Brom’s James McClean, a tackle that delivered a blow to the ankle that perhaps should have seen Sanchez immediately withdrawn.

Instead, he played on until half-time to emerged for the second period.

Unable to impact on proceedings as the match slipped away from Arsenal, Sanchez was clearly affected by the injury, eventually giving way on 78 minutes.

A forlorn Arsene Wenger gave a brief verdict on the injury post-match, simply stating that Sanchez’ ankle “doesn’t look good”, later describing it as in “a terrible state”.

Due to depart with Chile for two World Cup qualifiers, including a vital clash with Argentina, we surely won’t have long to wait until we have a fuller prognosis, with Wenger insisting that if there is ligament damage, he will not travel.

But as we know, Sanchez is a player who refuses to bow to injuries. A factor behind his second-half appearance, his desire to play through pain will also doubtless govern the decision to depart to Chile.

Wenger and his Fantasy owners will then face a nervous wait for Sanchez’ return ahead of a Gameweek 30 clash with Manchester City.

But, there are also further concerns surrounding Arsenal’s form and confidence. On today’s evidence, Sanchez will need to carry Arsenal to victories over their remaining matches.

While this would seemingly guarantee him appearances, if fit, over the remaining 11 matches, we perhaps have to question whether his points output can be maintained.

With Sanchez subdued, the Gunners faded badly in the second period, created little and mustered just two efforts on target all match.

Even Sanchez, for all his incredible talent as a player and Fantasy asset, may struggle to go on producing in an Arsenal side so bereft of confidence and creativity.

Wenger’s press conference comments, promising an imminent end to the speculation surrounding his future of the club may now be key to a revival.

That will no doubt be the focus for the media over the international break, leaving us to monitor Sanchez’s fitness and assess whether the alarming Arsenal malaise can be lifted so that the season’s ultimate heavy-hitter can truly shine and deliver.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I had 14 on the bounce which is/was one of the best on here.
Starting from a 6 digit OR helps this but I reckon winning the euro millions would be easier than 38 greens.

GW1 - pick a bunch of loaned out flagged bench fodder from youth teams and deadbeats.

Each week, bring in one average player who starts and hope no red cards. Once you have a squad of 15 starters, start upgrading each one to above average players and hope they out perform average blokes.....then upgrade again to big hitters....BB, TC, etc in the finals weeks.

Welcome to 37 green arrows 😉

You'd be crazy to sell in my opinion. He has two away fixtures against Liverpool and Man U. If he can snag 1-2 goals in those games he has some tasty fixtures after that. I wouldn't be looking at fixtures with Lukaku. He scored at White Heart Lane a few weeks back.

Everton and Lukaku have a poor record away to big clubs. I expect little return from those games. Vardy could bag 3 or 4 in that time for instance. And then we are on the verge of the doubles.

    Following on from a few different posts I'm seeing and reckon most have the same dilemma;

What to do with Everton assetts?
I think most own Lukaku and Coleman/Baines, what's your thinking?

Everton have Liverpool on the 1st April and Man U on the 4th.

A quick turn around in fixtures sees them line up at home against Leicester and Burnley.

      Very silly to sell

There should be no rush to sell. Their tough fixtures only last for 4 days.

Have Lukaku, Baines and Barkley. Selling the latter for Pedro after the international break. No need to drop the first two before the DGW's and probably not even then dependent on fixtures

I don't get this 4 days thing. So what? It's two GWs and a lot can happen. I'll be ditching Rom and possibly look to get him back in further down the line but he's not essential.

Ok lot less Lukaku love that the would be hate out there if he had "trolled" us yesterday. Let say the kid has come good and fair play to him not like I never had a go on TC last year 🙂

He was 100% gone for me with the 2 upcoming fixtures I just can't bring myself to do it now. It was Lukaku and Diomande to Gabbi and Deeney for AOA. Now just Diomande > Gabbi and Baines > Valencia

So therefore Deeney is a troll 🙂

I have costa lukaku Carroll. With plenty in the back.

Carroll home to hull next though and hammers do score goals. Who would you drop for gabbiadni who has great form fixtures and 2 doubles. Has to be lukaku bUT will be a hard choice to make

I can't drop him now Pool defence is poor then one more fixtures and he's on the pigs back again.

Next week I will have Lukaku Lorente and Gabbi. Happy with that I could have lost Lukaku for Gabbi and King to Alli but even that could not make me lose Lukaku.

For those who have WC'd. Loading up with 15 dgw'ers is surely as tunnel vision as avoiding players who blanked in 28 if not worse.

The likes of King, Siggy, Lukaku, Coleman, Pool mids, Lanzini are probably the main players. I feel these players are going to be vastly over looked in the run up to 37 which doesn't make sense to me.

I would rather have Siggy from 34 onwards than someone like Mata for example.
      Or Lukaku over Costa.
      Or King over Iwobi.
Comparing Coleman and Valencia. Coleman could easily outscore Valencia from 34 onwards.

15 DGWers Not much of a Problem if WC in GW 36
Last season during DGW there were top 2 (LEI and TOT) teams both going for Title and also had easy fixtures.
So it would have been wise if you kept some then
But don't see any reason not to ride on 15 DGW'ers
