Did you think your summer would be dull without fantasy football? Fear not. The developers of Fantasy Premier League have launched a brand new game called Eliteserien Fantasy.

The game will feature the Norwegian top divison. The site is currently only in Norwegian but it is fairly easy to register and use if you are used to FPL.

The concept and rules are the same as FPL, the only differences being no chips and there’s a  ‘man in the stand’  for bonus points.

The season will have 30 Gameweeks between April and November. A third of the season will be played during the off-season in FPL so this game could soften the summer blow for Fantasy Footy junkies.

Already 58 players have  joined the FFS league, including FPL legend Ville Rönkä. The league code is: 3769-1041

In this article I will take a look at the 16 teams and the players to keep an eye on.

Rosenborg

Having won ‘the double’ two seasons in a row, there is no doubt who is the gigantic fish in this pond. Both league titles have been comfortable with a tally of 69 points, an average of staggering 2.3 points per game. The Rosenborg domination is set to continue with the acquisition of Nicklas Bendtner (12.5). Not only is the insane Dane the most expensive player in the game, he currently also sits in over half the teams.

Mixed results and a few injuries during the pre season, there remains uncertainty around the form of their key players. Rosenborg meet Brann in a face off between last year’s top two teams on March 29. This may give us some answers, or pose more questions as it will be the first of four games Rosenborg play in 10 days. This fixture congestion could be a good reason to overlook the pricey Bendtner for now.

Top 3 targets: Mike Jensen (10.5 MID), Fredrik Midtsjo (8.5 MID), Nicklas Bendtner (12.5 FWD)

Brann

After a shock relegation despite being title contenders in 2014, Brann bounced straight back up the following year. They used that momentum and enjoyed a successful return to the top division, eventually finishing second. Brann’s excellent defence is expected to do well this season as well, especially as Piotr Leciejewski (5.5) might be the best goalkeeper in the league. Early investment in Brann players could pay dividends as their opening few fixtures seem favourable.

Top 3 targets: Fredrik Haugen (9.0 MID), Vito Wormgoor (5.5 DEF), Torgeir Børven (9.0 FWD)

Odd

Starting last season with six consecutive clean sheets, Odd laid the foundations for what turned out to be a third place finish and Europa League qualification. The last 24 games only saw three additional clean sheets but Odd will nonetheless provide excellent defensive options. Espen Ruud (6.5) might prove to be the most essential player in the game. To go along with his nine clean sheets, the right back also managed five goals and eight assists last season.

Top 3 targets: Espen Ruud (6.5 DEF), Fredrik Nordkvelle (9.0 MID), Sondre Rossbach (5.5 GK)

Haugesund

Expect the unexpected when Haugesund are playing. One season they battle for the Europa League places, the next they fight for survival. Given they finished fourth last season, this year their assets may be best avoided! Defensively Haugesund are not much to write home about. Their midfielders have to bear the burden if they are to replicate last year’s form.

Top 3 targets: Haris Hajradinovic (7.5 MID), Erik Huseklepp (8.5 MID), Ibrahim Shuaibu (5.0 FWD)

Molde

Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s second period as Molde manager has failed to reach the heights of his first stint at the club thus far. Back then he led Molde to back-to-back titles, whilst his latest reign has resulted in 6th and 5th placed finishes. With a wealth of options in every position, picking the right Molde players could be a minefield. Solskjær’s preferred tactic seems to be resting players from time to time. Heavy investment in Molde’s assets is probably best avoided to start with.

Top 3 targets: Bjorn Sigurdarson (9.0 FWD), Sander Svendsen (8.5 MID), Mattias Mostrom (6.5 MID)

Sarpsborg

A stable mid table team for the last couple of seasons, Sarpsborg normally go about their business quietly. They do not concede many but they do not score that many either. In fact, their most prolific attacker finished 40th in terms of attacking returns last season. Big things are therefore expected of the attacking minded Krepin Diatta (6.0), an easy on the eye Senegalese U20 international who arrived last month. A Sarpsborg defender could be a must have as they managed 13 clean sheets in the last campaign, with nine of them coming on home soil.

Top 3 targets: Krepin Diatta (6.0 MID), Sigurd Rosted (5.5 DEF), Jonas Lindberg (5.5 FWD)

Strømsgodset

After being a top side since the beginning of the decade, Strømsgodset found themselves finishing mid table last season. They produce fluent attacking play and are a joy to watch, especially at home. Jonathan Parr (6.0) provides us with a potential OOP option. Listed as a defender, the former Crystal Palace and Ipswich left back played a lot on the left wing last autumn. The signing of the experienced left back Stian Ringstad (5.5) could mean a permanent shift to the wing for Parr.

Top 3 targets: Jonathan Parr (6.0 DEF), Marcus Pedersen (10.5 FWD), Lars Vilsvik (6.0 DEF)

Viking

There is not much buzz around Viking at the moment. Kwesi Appiah (7.0) has been signed on loan from Crystal Palace. Despite only being 26, this will be the striker’s sixteenth club in his senior career. Whether he can settle in and finally make it count remains to be seen. With an unfavourable set of fixtures to start the season, overlooking Viking options for the opening might be the best solution.

Top 3 targets: Kwesi Appiah (7.0 FWD), Julian Ryerson (4.5 DEF) Samuel Adegbenro (7.5 MID)

Aalesund

Highest goalscorer from last season still in the league this term is Mos (8.5). He will undoubtably be key this year as well but he is not the only threat Aalesund pose. Most of their goals in the pre season have come from set pieces. Centre back Mantyla has scored three goals without even starting a game but it is another centre back stealing the limelight. Daniel Gretarsson (5.0) has also scored three goals from his four starts this winter. However, Aalesund do concede a lot of goals so any defensive investment has to be purely because of their set piece threat.

Top 3 targets: Mos (8.5 FWD), Edwin Gyasi (7.5 MID), Daniel Gretarsson (5.0 DEF)

VÃ¥lerenga

Being the only representation from the capital, Vålerenga have failed to live up to expectations for a good few years. This season they have hired the services of former Celtic manager Ronny Deila. An attacking minded leader, Deila made his name at Strømsgodset where he took the team to league glory in 2013. After years of struggle to get permission and finances to build their own stadium on their side of the city, Vålerenga will finally be moving to their new home mid season. This will likely give them a solid boost throughout the season.

Top 3 targets: Ghayas Zahid (10.5 MID), Mohammed Abdellaoue (9.5 FWD), Markus Nakkim (5.0 DEF)

Sogndal

Gilbert Koomson (7.5) was the only assister in the league to reach double figures last season. However, that is a steep price tag for a player in a team that most likely will be in for a relegation battle. Sogndal had a good defence last season but the latest results in pre season do not exactly look encouraging. Still, if they can replicate some of that defensive form then they have several decent budget options in their team.

Top 3 targets: Matias Dyngeland (4.5 GK), Bjørn Utvik (4.5 DEF), Gilbert Koomson (7.5 MID)

Lillestrøm

Celebrating their 100 years anniversary, Lillestrøm will be hoping they avoid the dogfight this time around. They were dead and buried with five games to play but managed to survive by collecting 11 points from those games. Most of the players are very generously priced, probably reflected by last year’s finish. Lillestrøm should be competing for a place in the upper half of the table. If they manage to do that then there are a few potential bargains in their squad. Daniel Fernandes (4.0) has impressed in pre season, if he can nail done a starting spot then that provides us with an excellent budget goalkeeper.

Top 3 targets: Daniel Fernandes (4.0 GK), Bajram Ajeti (6.5 FWD), Chigozie Udoji (6.0 MID)

Tromsø

Defensively Tromsø are not a good unit. The onus will be on their attacking play. People will recognise Morten Gamst Pedersen (5.5) from his time at Blackburn. After struggling with injuries last season, the set piece specialist is set to claim a place in the centre of midfield. Some calmness in the middle of the park may be exactly what Tromsø need as their passing accuracy of 68.7 % was the worst in the league.

Top 3 targets: Aron Sigurdarson (6.5 MID), Sloboan Vuk (7.0 FWD), Morten Gamst Pedersen (5.5 MID)

Stabæk

Stabæk were favourites to go down in 2015 but thanks to the heroics of Bob Bradley they managed to finish third. During that summer they lost top scorer Adama Diomande to Hull, whilst Bradley left before the 2016 season. Stabæk barely recovered from those losses and somehow just about managed to survive. They are in for another tough season but they do have a couple of cheap prospects to keep an eye on.

Top 3 targets: Moussa Njie (5.5 MID), Luc Kassi (6.0 MID), Hanche-Olsen (4.5 DEF)

Kristiansund

Thirteen years after the club was formed, Kristiansund won the second tier and gained promotion to the top division for the first time. The promotion campaign was thanks to a good defence and a red hot striker. Daouda Bamba (6.5) scored 20 and assisted twice in 28 games. The Ivorian is young and fearless, and is sure to be amongst the goals also in this league.

Top 3 targets: Daouda Bamba (6.5 FWD), Aliou Coly (4.5 DEF), Sean McDermott (4.0 GK)

Sandefjord

Also gaining promotion prior to this season, Sandefjord are favourites to go straight back down. Genuine fantasy options are therefore far and few between, however they might provide a couple of bench fodder options. Seven defeats and no clean sheets in nine pre season games tells they are in for a very rough ride.

Top 3 targets: Erik Mjelde (6.0 MID), Andre Sødlund (4.5 MID), Flamur Kastrati (6.0 FWD)

But keep Dyngeland, he seems to be the favorite around here for that price. And if you can fit in Koomson somehow, do it. Apparently he's the Norwegian fantasy version of Siggy. 😀

Not necessarily, I'm very uncertain about whether McDermott and Flo will start.. I think you're more assured of minutes with your first set of players (given that Wormgoor starts this weekend).. If your bench is alright then it could be worth the risk though.

Sorli at Kristiansund could be a starter, but not certain. Lot of game time in preseason and scored a couple of goals. Heintz at Sarpsborg has been getting a lot of game time as well, but he isn't currently a starter in a fully fit XI.

Don't think there are any nailed on 4.5 mids. Sorli seems to me like the best choice, although I don't have much knowledge about Kristiansund to be honest.

Final draft before the match this evening - What do you think? 🙂

    (0.0 itb)
    Fernandes
    Ruud/Vilsvik/Ryerson
    Jensen/Midtsjø/Koomson/Adegbenro
    Bendtner/Moa/Stokke

    Bench: McDermott, Coly, Moe, Nije

My plan is to rotate Coly/Ryerson and Stokke/Nije.

Thanks for comments 🙂 I consider doing Jensen -> Haugen and upgrade Coly.

Jensen is a better pick than Zahid IMO when I already have Vålerenga-cover in Moa (Abdellaoue).

Brann isn't a good attacking team and overperformed last year. Wouldn't say an attacking pick from them is a must. Haugen is the most attacking player in a midfield 3 and not good value at 9.0 IMO (unless he is on penalties). The other attacking picks are too much of a doubt (Børven also overpriced). Vega could be a decent pick, but there are so many question marks around him.

I live in Bergen and go to a lot of Brann's matches. I'm of to see Brann - Rosenborg soon, I'll post an update later.

Personally I'd get Hedenstad over Vilsvik, but that's just my opinion. Triple Rosenborg in midfield/attack might be too much from the start?

Ryerson isn't 100% nailed on, but will get loads of game time in different positions. It's most down too injuries IMO. I currently have him in my team. Coly is a decent attacking prospect, but I don't expect much from Kristiansund.

I'd very much recommend you to get Shuaibu from Haugesund ahead of Stokke. Plays for a much better team and is likely to be a starter.

Adegbenro is also a doubt for the weekend. If this was FPL I guess he would have been yellow flagged with a 75% chance to play.

        Thanks for great comments 🙂

I'm confident in Midtsjø and Jensen (like Alli and Eriksen). Midtsjø is underpriced IMO and Jensen is involved in everything and will be a bonus magnet. Then it's a choice between Hedenstad and Bentdner, and I can't go without him - I could easily transfer him out and get Hedenstad if Bentdner doesn't deliver.

Shuaibu is an interesting pick, but very hard for me to not choose Stokke as one of my closest friends 😉 I think he will start and if not, I do Stokke -> Shuaibu.

I didn't know about Adegbenro - Thanks! Who would you transfer in (max 7.5)? 🙂

        1. Niemi
          • 11 Years

The difference between Midtsjø & Jensen and Alli & Eriksen are Midtsjø & Jensen play as central midfielders in a 4-3-3, while Alli & Eriksen play as a part of the attacking 3 in a 4231 or in a 3421. I'd say one of them is pretty much essential, but not sold on both yet. If Helland is injury free he is pretty much essential, but he always pick up a small injury so might not be smart to get him.

Personally I wouldn't get a player just because I know him (same as I won't get players from my favourite team unless they are objectively worth it), but I see your point.

I'd say Koomson, but you already got him. There are lot of potential good choices, but there are question marks around most of them (mostly gametime). Nguen, Vega, Juklerød, Sigurdarson, Udoji and Riski. Riski has been doing well in pre-season and seems to have nailed down a starting spot, but he had a bad season last year and faces competition from Zekhnini, Diouf and Agdestein. Out of the names I've mentioned Nguen would be my pick, but I can't guarantee you returns.

Thanks 🙂 see your point - I think Midtsjø is the better pick between them.

What is your thoughts about going Pedersen instead of Bentdner from the start and doing Pedersen -> Bendtner after around 5 games?

Worried about the fact that Bentdner is not playing this evening!

            1. Niemi
              • 11 Years

It's doing my head in. I've had Pedersen and left out Bendtner in almost all of my previous drafts, but now I don't know. I'm scared of Bendtners high ownership.

Wouldn't be worried about the fact that Bendtner is not playing this evening. Rosenborg are resting players for the weekend and Bendtner will most likely start against Odd. They do have a thigh schedule coming up though, so he could be benched in some of the gameweeks after that.

It's currently 50/50 if I get Bendtner or not, but if I go without him I'll have Pedersen in my team for sure.

Decent team. I personally think Haugen is bad value at 9.0, but he is nailed on as a starter. Koomson much better value for the money. Svendsen also a good pick at 8.5 as he'll most likely start as a striker in one of Tippeligaens best team, but some doubt over his game time. Solskjær rotates his team a lot and he's only 19. No one knows.

I'd get Hedenstad in there somewhere as well. Johansen won't get much game time IMO, surely there are better picks at 4.5.

If you feel attacking Brann cover is necessary then Haugen is the way to go. They did overarchieve last year though. From promotion to 2nd place. I attend a lot of their matches and Brann are a pretty boring team. They don't score a lot, but they are really solid at the back. 7 teams scored more goals than Brann last year and I can't see it changing this year with the same coach and no new attacking signings.

Koomson as a captain? Not sure. It's comparable to picking Sigurdsson as a captain IMO. I wouldn't do so as Sogndal (and Swansea) are a pretty average team, but if they do score Koomson (and Sigurdsson) will most likely be involved.

Players that are captain material right now IMO: Bendtner, Helland, Pedersen, Abdellaoue and Zahid. Players like Zekhnini, Svendsen, Ocean, Sigurdarson and Mos could also be decent picks, but I'd put some question marks there. Eliteserien is pretty unpredictable and there will surely be some players scoring big that we didn't expect.

Tempted to go with a 4-3-3 or a 4-4-2 at the start of the season (or even 5 at the back). So many potential good picks in midfield and attack, but also many question marks around lots of them (game time, injuries etc.). Might as well go with a nailed on, attacking defence from the start. Could it pay off? Will most likely wildcard after 3-6 gameweeks anyway and we'll have a lot more information by then.

I think I'm starting with 4 at the back and sticking with it through the season. Back 4 is: Ruud - Hedenstad - Rosted - Wormgoor with Utvik on the bench. I think a 4 man backline is much more viable in this league than in the PL because of the dominance of some teams (and thus their defence), plus the fact that some are so attacking.

      1. Niemi
        • 11 Years
        8 years, 8 months ago

Yeah, I agree. I think it's also due to the fact there are few great attacking players in the league currently. There are players like Helland, but he is really a nightmare to own with all his injuries. Many of the best teams also rotate a lot and have few nailed on and great players. Players like Svendsen and Zekhnini has great potential, but at least they were rotated a lot last season. The best teams have a more settled back line and there are some great attacking full backs like Hedenstad, Ruud, Lundstrøm, Meling, Vilsvik, Parr ++ and good options from Sarpsborg and Brann as well.

Worth noting that normally some players that start the season well will be sold in the summer. Fredrik Gulbrandsen, Mohamed Elyounoussi, Suleiman Abdullahi and Fred Friday all scored well at the start of the season. Players like Eirik Ulland Andersen, Mushaga Bakenga and Bjørn Sigurdarson joined clubs in Tippeligaen during the summer and scored well in the second half. If these players had the whole season in Tippeligaen I don't think the point scoring charts would have been dominated so heavily by defenders (most of them remained at the same club for the whole season).

What are people's thoughts on starting with Wormgoor, even though he is doubtful for GW1?

I think I'll stick with him as I'll want a Brann defender long-term anyway and if he doesn't play the first game, I have Utvik waiting to come off the bench. It saves having to transfer in a Brann defender later on. Thoughts?

Not sure if Utvik is 100% nailed on. There has been some talk about Steiring starting, but I think Utvik is still ahead of him in the pecking order.

He'll play most matches I think. Started 19 out of 30 last year and was subbed on in 2 matches. Subbed out in 15 out of 19 starts. Don't remember if he was injured for a period or not, but he's still a young player (19) and pretty unstable in his performances.

What's the rest of your team? I'm pretty sure I want Koomson in my team as he is 100% nailed on, the main attacking threat from his team and on penalties and most set pieces (much like Sigurdsson in FPL).

Fwiw think previous post on Aron Sigurdarson was wrong. På benken on the altomfotball site doesn't seem to mean benched for whole game, just some of it (bit confusing between Byttet inn, Byttet ut & På benken).

      1. Niemi

På benken simply means that he started on the bench. Byttet inn means subbed on and byttet ut means subbed off.

So på benken simply means he started on the bench as you say, but it doesn't necessarily mean he remained on the bench.

Thanks. Yes I misunderstood it and spent ages looking into alternatives (settled on Thrándarson, Jradi or Ibrahim) but may just leave him then as end of season/friendly form was good.

Which of these combinations is the better pick:

        - Gamst Pedersen & Omoijuanfo

        - Njie & Lehne Olsen or Espejord

I would consider Shuiabu (5.0 at FK Haugesund) as a striker and get a better midfielder.

          Hello TC 🙂

People have said Zekhnini isn't nailed. Should I do Utvik > Moe and use he 0.5 to do Zekhnini > Nordkvelle?

For sure. Nordkvelle is the more consistent player (also nailed). Stabæk have awful depth, Moe will be playing a lot.

Thanks. Someone also said that he thinks Brann aren't a great attacking team and that Haugen is bad value at 9.0. What are your thoughts? I still think I should keep him as he is part of a dominant team.

Their attack is a bit lackluster. Won't be free flowing. Plus Haugen plays in the midfield 3 so will have defensive duties as well. I'm ignoring for now.

Thanks. I think I'll follow suit. Who do you recommend for a max of 9.0? My team is above if you've forgotten except I now have Nordkvelle instead of Zekhnini.

And another question if you don't mind 🙂

Someone was saying they don't expect Brann and Sarpsborg defences to do well this season and instead recommended Lillestrom and Stromsgodset for their defences. Would you agree?

Koomson. Use the spare cash to upgrade Mos to his brother and/or Rosted/Wormgoor to Vilsvik.

Would agree on Brann. Everything went for them last season, don't think they have the squad to replicate that sort of season again. Have to admit I haven't watched much of Sarpsborg but I reckon they could manage between 7-10 CS this year (probably not enough for a 5.5 defender).

I would consider Strømsgodset defence for sure. Vilsvik is a prime prospect because of attacking threat. Lillestrøm players are probably underpriced this season because they underperformed last year. Covering them with Fernandes is enough imo.

Thanks 🙂 Already have Koomson though. It feels a bit weird having no Brann players given they're apparently one of the dominant teams. But taking into consideration what you said, what do you think of this plan?

                      - Rosted to Mikalsen (Lillestrom and good goal threat).
                      - Fernandes to Dyngeland (to not double-up on Lillestrom defence)
                      - Haugen to 8.5 or less (who?)
                      - Wormgoor to Vilsvik

Personally wouldn't pass up a 4m starting GK but it could work.

10 returns in 22 games last season. Only signed last week but I think he'll be nailed. I wouldn't feel safe going without Vålerenga cover.

Adegbenro is a good option but poor fixtures. Udoji over Sigurdarsion imo.

Well reminded. Someone said Fejzullahu. May have to go bit cheaper anyway with 4th mid + 3rd fwd to afford Bendtner for just -4.

You think Jensen worth the 2m over Midtsjo (aside from just now)? Both have pretty good stats:
                        Jensen: 2016 - 8G/4A; 2015 - 3G/13A (1G both seasons from penalties).
                        Midtsjo: 2016- 4G/7A; 2015 - 4G/9A

                    There's a MLS fantasy? 😉

Was expecting an even bigger interest to be honest. Even TV2's lousy game in the past seasons used to get 20k+ players. I think if TV2 still had the tv rights we would have 50k already.

MLS had around 100,000 players last year. I haven't bothered with it this year as they've introduced unlimited transfers, so basically you get to pick a whole new team every week. Too much like hard work.

Midtsjø was slighly more advanced than Jensen. With Hedenstad on set pieces as well Jensen won't be on many of them. Can't justify the 2.0 difference. Helland looked off pace when he came on. Bendtner didn't do anything, but will surely get some points. I think I'll pass for now.

Hedenstad had a fair share of set pieces and could easily had an assist. Essential IMO, at least as long as Meling isn't starting.

Wouldn't touch any Brann players. Defender could be good, but not essential at that price.

I think we're on the same page. I'm on Midtsjø and Hedenstad myself atm. However I still feel that I need to be ready to respond if Helland and Bendtner start firing..

I also agree with your previous comments on overpriced Brann players, can't see a reason for paying 9.0 for Børven or Haugen. Their defence should still be worth something though. They have one of the best goalkeepers in the league, so someone like Wormgoor should do well.

Yeah, defensively they should be pretty sound with Wormgoor coming back. Hopefully Nouri can get his place back in the team despite him rejecting a new contract. He was great when he came on and Rosenborg struggled to handle him. Easily one of Brann's best player and would be my pick if he was nailed on.

I'll get Hedenstad and Midtsjø, so I'll have room for either Bendtner or Helland.

                      Thanks for the insight.
I also noticed that Acosta got a yellow, so if he's that much of a card magnet as you say I'll definitely be avoiding him. Nouri could be one to keep an eye on though.

He picked up 4 yellow cards in 20 matches last year. It's not that much, but he has been sent off once each of the last three seasons. Can be a bit hotheaded at times.

Brann signed a new Icelandic right back that supposed to be decent (plays for the national team), so I'm not sure Nouri will get his place back. He rejected a new contract (it's expiring after the season) and wants a move, so that's why he's been benched.

Based on what you said about Lillestrom and Stromsgodset defences. What do you think of this plan?

                  - Wormgoor to Mikalsen (Good goal threat)
                  - Rosted to Vilsvik/Parr (Which one?)
                  - Haugen to 8.5 (Who? Other mids are Midtsjo/Koomson/Nordkvelle/Johansen. Rest of team is on previous page)
                  - Fernandes to Dyngeland (to not double-up on Lillestrom defence)

I don't think I said anything about Lillestrøm and Strømsgodset defences, if it's me your referring to?

                    My opinion in general:

                    - Strømsgodset underperformed last year. Will they be back at their best? I'm not sure. They start the season with some good fixtures. Vilsvik is a good prospect. Very attacking. Parr might be OOP in some matches. Hard to say who to get, but I'm currently on Vilsvik.

                    - Lillestrøm got a new coach with 6 matches remaining. He's more defensive minded than previous coaches, so we could see more clean sheets from them this year. Wouldn't double up yet though. I own both Fernandes and Dyngeland as my keepers. To be honest I don't have much knowledge on Lillestrøms defenders.

                    - Brann are a destructive, defensively minded team. The problem is I'm not sure who to pick. Wormgoor injury doubt, Acosta likes a card (Wormgoor seems to pick up a few cards as well). None of them a big goal threath. Kristiansen isn't a good attacking full back. As I said above I would get Nouri if he was nailed on, but he isn't due to him rejecting a contract.

I currently own Hedenstad, Ruud, Vilsvik, Albeck (value pick from Sarpsborg, but not 100% nailed in the long run I think) and Moe (4.0 most likely starter).

Who to get at 8.5 is hard to say. I'm not even sure myself. Consider Svendsen or Andersen/Nguen, but they might not be starting every match. Adegbenro could be a good pick if he's fit. Personally I would want Zahid in there, but he's costing 10.5.

                      Thanks 😉

I think I'll follow that plan. Even if Brann keep a lot of clean sheets, Mikalsen off Lillestrom is apparently a big attacking threat so he might even it out and be better value. And I'm not doubling up as I'm doing Fernandes to Dyngeland. I'm left with no Brann players then. Would that worry you since they're one of the dominant teams? Or are they just not worth their prices anyway?

For an 8.5 mid, Team Cruel suggested Keita. He recommended Valerenga attacking cover. Is he a good shout and is he nailed?

Wouldn't worry, but would keep an eye on them. They are not really a dominant team, they were newly promoted last year when they came 2nd! In 2014 they got in a new coach who where saying they could win the title, instead they got relegated. Won the league in 2007 though.

Could be a decent shout, but Zahid is the main man in midfield and Abdellaoue is the goal scorer. I'd wait and see, but he could be a cut price alternative to Zahid and Moa (Abdellaoue) if he hits form. Unpredictable player.

4 goals and 2 assists in 13 games for Strømsgodset and 3 goals and 1 assist in 9 games for Stabæk. Not 100% sure he'll start every match at the start of the season, he just joined them. I'd get Zahid or Moa in there from the start. It's kind of like getting Pedro/Willian instead of Hazard or Costa.

Ah I see. Maybe I'll consider doing this:

Dyngeland > Fernandes and Mikalsen > Utvik (start him every week).

That would give me 1.0 to do Mos > Moa. Not sure if I'll do it but I'll consider it

Will they bench Nouri the whole season? No, I don't think so. Will he start every match? No, I don't think so. It will depend on how good Vidar Ari Jonsson is. I won't touch Nouri for now. Kristiansen is the safe pick at 5,5. Very much nailed on. I don't think he's good in attack, but at least he picked up 2 assists last season.

Is it to much to get both Zahid and Moa? A fit Moa should score a couple and Zahid is involved in pretty much everything, but combined they cost 20 and play for unpredictable Vålerenga.

It'a a risk, but I'm looking to start with both and have 0.5m in the bank. That could turn Zahid to Helland or Moa to Occean if one is not performing.

They are an unpredictable team. He scored 13 in 29 last season (7 in the last 7), which is decent, but only 6 in 26 the season before. He was the top scorer in 2011 though with 17 goals, so he certainly knows how to score

                  Latest draft

                  Dyngeland - Fernandes
                  Hedenstad - Ruud - Vilsvik - (Albeck) - Moe
                  Zahid - Midtsjø - Koomson - (Adegbenro) - (4.5 bench fodder)
Pedersen - Moa Abdellaoue - Shuiabu

I'm thinking 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 most matches. Decisions to make the next days:
                  - Albeck or someone else at 5.0 (or stretch to 5.5)?
                  - Will Adegbenro be fit? Should I downgrade and upgrade my 4.5 bench fodder (or Albeck)?
                  - If I go with a 4.5 bench fodder, who's the best pick? Valles has supposedly started the last 3 matches for Sandefjord, but I don't have much knowledge about the potential 4.5 starters. Sødlund seems to be out of the team.

Keepers are good. Instead of Albeck, you could consider Mikalsen who I was talking about earlier or Gretarsson (4 goals in last 5 friendlies). They're both 5.0. Someone said Valles is a defensive mid. Maybe Johansen can be a 4.5 bench fodder? Are you not worried about Bendtner's owenership?

I just feel like 5.0 for a defender from Lillestrøm or Aalesund is too much. Mikalsen produced well as a left back last year, but I'm not sure if he's too much of a threat as he is playing as a center back currently.

Yeah, he is. Johansen isn't a starter as far as I know and hasn't been the last two seasons. Not been producing great numbers either and as a 32 year old I can't see that changing.

And regarding Bendtner: Yes, I'm kind of worried. Just too many question marks right now for a 12,5 player, but he'll be in my team as soon as he starts producing.

Fair enough on Bendtner. Would you say Wormgoor is better value at 5.5 than Mikalsen is at 5.0? Or is there anybody else you'd recommend at 5.0?

He is nailed on at least. Some good picks at 5.5.

                            Rosted at Sarpsborg
                            Wormgoor/Kristiansen at Brann
                            Lundstrøm at Vålerenga

Lundstrøm would be my pick if Vålerenga tighten up this year. 6 assists in 20 matches last year.

Hard to say. As I said above Tippeligaen is pretty unpredictable. On paper I'd say Albeck is the best pick at 5.0. Sarpsborg were unexpectedly tight last year, but I'm not sure if they can do as well this year. Maybe there are another team tightening up this year. There are no nailed on defenders from any of the top teams at 5.0, except for maybe Nakkim at Vålerenga (if they don't sign a new CB) and Albeck (if you count Sarpsborg as a top team).

Thanks. Another question if you don't mind 😉 I think I'll get in Zahid due to your previous advice. That means I'll get rid of Mos to a 6.5 or 6.0? Maybe Bamba? Apparently he has tough fixtures to start with though, but should come good later on. Who would you recommend at 6.0 or less? Going that cheap would give me the 2.0 to do Keita > Zahid and also leave enough to upgrade Lorenthzen (who might not be nailed?) to Shuaibu as bench fodder. That means I'm going 442.

He plays for a small team, I wouldn't expect much. I'm going with Shuiabu as I expect him to start and is great value at 5.0. I rate him up there with the 6.5 players, but there are loads of players at 6.0-6.5 who could do well. Omoijuanfo, Ajeti, Bamba, Lindberg (5.5), Malec, Espejord (6.0) and Ramsland. Bit of a lottery really, so I went with the value pick.

Lindberg was my pick until Sarpsborg signed a new Swedish "prolific" striker (not added to the game yet), so I don't think he is nailed on although he should start the first game at least.

How about going with starting Lindberg and Bendtner with Shuaibu on the bench to fund the above moves. Best picks/value seems to be in the midfield and defence so going 442 with those strikers might work?

I think both Lindberg and Shuaibu is kind of weak, but it could pay off.

Downgrade Adegbenro (Krogstad/Udoji?), upgrade Shuiabu (Lehne Olsen/Omoijuanfo?) ?

Krogstad on free kicks/corners. Goals in preseason. Scored well on loan at Ullensaker/Kisa last season (but only 1G/1A in 2015 for Lillestrøm - may have been maturing into role though).Udoji attacking mid new to Norway but history of goals. Don't know much else about him.

Olsen 8G/2A last season. Played every game. Omoijuanfo has pre-season form. 4G/2A last season.

But... you know rather a lot more about this than me.

Thanks for insight. I think I'll keep Shuiabu. He's been doing well this winter and is a starter for a good team. I think he's better value at 5.0 than the 6.0/6.5 picks and has scored a few in pre season.

I think I might go with a 5.5 defender, Njie instead of a 4.5 bench fodder and a 6.0 midfielder (Udoji is someone I'm considering).

Mind if I ask why you're picking Pedersen over Mos?
Read here he's not so popular this season but not sure why.

Better player for the better team IMO. The question is if he's worth the extra 2.0. Strømsgodset have some good opening fixtures so I say yes.

A reflection on Rosenborg and how they will probably look through the first half of the season:

The expected starting XI (including rotation pairing):

                          Hansen

                          Hedenstad, Reginiussen, Skjelvik/Rasmussen, Gersbach/Meling

                          Jensen - Konradsen - Midtsjø

                          Helland - Bendtner - Jevtovic/Bakenga

This leaves Rashani as a backup for Helland, Lædre Bjørdal 4th in line at center back to cover for Reginiussen, Vilhjalmson the alround sub for any need, leaving the exciting bits as to what happens when De Lanlay is back over the summer, and an unknown quantity in the use of midfielder Lundemo once he is match fit. People will wonder about pairing Gersbach and Meling as rotation risks, the reasoning there is 2-fold, 1 Meling has not had a full pre-season and will be lacking in core fitness training, and 2 Meling's OoP posibility is golden with the weak bench covering the three sentral midfielders.

                          1. Which Stabaek attacker do you prefer, Njie (5.5 mid) or Ohi (6.5 striker)

                          2. Not much love for Pedersen from Stromsgodset on here. Why? Playing for a good attacking team with good fixtures?

                          3. Best Sarpsborg defender? Rosted?

                            1. Why not both? 😉

                            2. Can't afford him with Bendtner and Moa up front.

                            3. Rosted yes, but Albech better value if nailed on.

Not sure McDermott will be starting so I'd look to get a playing 4.5m keeper in there.

I'd also rather have a Rosenborg defender like Hedenstad instead of one of Vilsvik or Parr. Kippe is getting too old, and will probably not play as much this season, Simen Kind Mikalsen is a much better pick for them at that position, he's also scored a few this pre season. Granli won't be starting, but Jeppe Moe probably will, so get him in if you're looking for a cheap 4.0 Stabæk defender.

You might have to change out one of your RBK mids to get a defender. Helland is injury prone, so he might not be worth the price. Gyasi is a good pick at 7.5, but I think Koomson and Adegbenro are better picks at that price. You also already have Mos, so not sure I'd want to have them both. Perhaps just go for one of them. Pedersen might do well, but I'm personally not taking a chance this early on. Gashi doesn't start, so either trade him for another 4.5 mid who will (most likely Sødlund, but slim pickings in that bracket) or upgrade him to a 5.5m like Njie.

You're strikers are also good. As I said earlier, perhaps try to switch out one of Gyasi or Mos. Bamba did well last year, but it all depends on KBKs form whether he'll do well this season also.
