This afternoon we reveal who has made it through to the second round of both our Fantasy Premier League cup competitions.

In our open to all cup, reigning champion A Manager Has No Name saw off Flying Nugget 50-41 despite being more than 30,000 behind him in the overall rankings going into the clash.

The enigmatically-titled victor, who is placed at 30,453, now has himself another tricky tie, against community regular Krul runnings, who is 9,490 places above him.

He wasn’t the only cup winner to progress, with both Mark and I overcoming Sleep Talk and Virus in the mind respectively.

Mark, who is 472nd in the rankings, now faces 7,717-placed Jimmyt281, while I’ve got my work cut out to defeat 76,423-ranked Not Much Klopp, given my lowly 355,537 placing.

Former champions Donnellyc, Gribude and Wild Rover also prevailed. Of this trio, 323,577-placed Donnellyc has arguably the toughest encounter when he squares up to the 7,798-ranked SpartaBhoy.

Meanwhile, 67,661-placed Gribude faces 5,199-ranked Footopia and Wild Rover takes on Kabukkinen, who at 25,793, is 18,154 places ahead of our community’s resident Blackburn fan.

Sadly, we say goodbye to former winner MCH at this stage, who was defeated 49-42 by upthemiddle.

In the first round’s live Hall of Fame top ten derby, Philman, who is 1,071 in the overall standings and seventh in our list of all-time best FPL managers, lost 68-34 to Dronny Imp (aka David Meechan), who is tenth in our elite listings and has moved up to 7,275 in the world.

Legomane, who is 3,755 places behind David, has drawn the short straw to become this top manager’s next opponent.

Another to fall victim to the fixture list is FetchUp, who is placed 8,461 in the world but next faces Hana, who at 52 overall is the competition’s highest-ranked manager.

The full second round draw can be found here.

Meanwhile, in the Members’ Cup former winner Trigg, who is 134,835 in the world, won a close encounter with Bangkok Canary 59-53 and next takes on 56,151-ranked Fenghh.

FFScout Members’ League leader and 34th-placed Billy Ketsu was another victor. After overcoming Emckay, he now encounters Doctor101, who is ranked 56,236.

Other eye-catching ties include Jafooli’s clash with another community regular VS10, while Hana makes it through in this contest as well and takes on FFScout moderator Spencer .

The full second round draw can be found here.

There is £350 in Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk vouchers up for grabs for the final top three managers in both tournaments.

Good luck to all those involved, and if you would like more information on the schedule and prizes simply click this link.

    This feels so wrong but...
    Alonso > Yoshida
    Siggy > Sanchez
    -4
Is this crazy or kinda the template now!?

        Can get rid of Pedro,Coutinho,Son,Eriksen
        Or
        Downgrade Costa or Lukaku.

        Siggy seemed the most expendable....

Would you prioiritise getting Sanchez in this week although it would mean taking a hit, benching Llorente and playing four at the back?

    Sanchez a concern for anyone?!

I own sanchez. Recent acquisition but I think it is only a matter of time before he stops contributing to the Arsenal cause.

    Reasons being:

He has proved that he is quality.

He obviously wants better and Arsenal can not provide.

He would be foolish to play 110% committed and risk an injury now before a big summer move.

So Three very good reasons to be wary of his FPL potential betwewn now and rest of the season.

    Anyone else of similar mind.

He won't stop contributing. Only issue is if arsenal stop playing as they have done recently.

I think he will continue to contribute also.

        Just worry at what rate.

Arsenal need to start planning without him also.

Hope that doesn't start sooner rather than later

He may not be committed to Arsenal. But when you watch him with the ball at his feet he always looks in the mood to score. Forward moves every time.

110% is the only way Sanchez plays.

he's committed to be a leader on that team, I don't think he wants anyone to think he is a selfish petulant player. I'm just concerned about him being stuck out on the wing, he is a fantastic passer but that position doesn't give him enough opportunity to finish and Arsenal can't rely on anyone else to convert goals consistently.

I'm concerned if he's out on the left and coming deep like he was yesterday, might not be captain material tomorrow but we shall we. I also think that Wenger may rotate, especially as Sanchez was in S.America last week...

Evening guys, seeking other views on my probable move.

What do reckon to Tekkers in for Llorente here for a -4? Just a potential form punt up til GW34/wildcard in 35/6. Got 7.1 max to spend. Don't fancy Origi - had bad experience earlier on in season. Will become Gabbi on WC.

    Jaku / Randolph
Alonso Brunt Valencia / Pieters RFM
Siggy San(c)hez Eriken Coutinho / Fletcher
    Kaku Vardy Llorente*

    How essential is Ibra?

His run of fixtures apart from the DGW don't excite me too much. United aren't playing great football, what's the pull? Do we expect him to come back and have an instant impact against Everton?

He isn't, but he's just a tremendous player. There are question marks surrounding his form, but I think a break might have done him good. Poor old man playing every minute of every PL game, he needs suspensions to get his required rest!

    7. Pinky Blinders
      • 9 Years
      9 years, 9 days ago

I don't know. In January he seemed to be interested in prioritizing getting his teammates more involved and building up his assists total to partially match his goals. He was also seeming a bit tired. But he's had a good long rest and his team needs him to score goals since no one else seems to be stepping up. Think he'll look to score at every opportunity now, just needs consistent service. Not sure he will get that though with all the injuries in the rest of the team. Tough one but I would probably bet on him showing up.

Klopp press conference tomorrow, you'll find out more then.

He's dropping in price again today.

Good evening scouts, need an advice.
Have both De Gea and Jakupovic from gw1 and this is first time I'm considering to bench DDG...
    What would you do?

This is probably the only fixture I'd be happy enough to play Jaku in so I don't think it's a big deal to bench DeGea

    Defoe - >

    A. Vardy (SUN, eve, cry - then switch to Ibra)

    B. Ibra (EVE, sun, CHE, bur, mnc)

    C. Neither.

    A or B are for a hit..

B I think. Close, though, you'd be probably losing out this week as Vardy good short term, but not great eve cry.

Hey Viper, you must be glad you didn't do Ali to Coutinho last week!

I have a similar dilemma this week. I think ibrahimovic is the better option so I would go for him if I were you.

Also saw your post about captaining Sanchez. You not concerned given arsenals form and he seemed to be quite deep vs city?

I have aguero and considering swapping to ibrahimovic and captaining. My reservation is that aguero could be a great captain choice next week.

      what do you think?

Yep, that was a big relief. I also weighed up doing Brunt - > Bertrand (benching McAuley) so I got lucky there.

I have a sneaky feeling Sanchez might start up front for some reason. He scored a hattrick from there earlier in the season. He's still top class even if playing from the left. West Ham are also one of those teams that are in poor form just like Arsenal.

I'd keep Aguero for the next two if I had him I think. I'll probably bring in Ibra but I'm not overly excited about it to be honest

Best of luck! I was definitely bringing in ibra originally but man united have so many injuries. Everton do have a makeshift defence tho

Is it worth doing Costa to Ibra for a -4 hit?

Other strikers are Carroll and Lukaku. I'm worried Costa and Luk won't perform this week and quite fancy Ibra against Everton
