Gameweek 31 is upon us and underway courtesy of a quartet of Tuesday night matches under lights.

In Fantasy terms, the focus will be on Old Trafford where Zlatan Ibrahimovic returns to the equation and Manchester United’s starting line-up against Everton.

Having once been owned by over 2.4 million FPL managers, he’s now part of just over half that number and, intriguingly, goes head-to-head with the new top owned asset in Everton’s Romelu Lukaku tonight.

The Toffees frontman will be under renewed pressure to deliver following his tepid display in Saturday’s Merseyside derby. With Ibrahimovic now returned ahead of United’s two double Gameweeks, Lukaku needs to show willing and perhaps produce points to stave off increasing sales.

Elsewhere, Leicester City’s renaissance receives its latest test with basement dwellers Sunderland at the King Power Stadium. The Foxes have won four successive Premier Leauge matches and, while Jermain Defoe is fit to start for the visitors, Jamie Vardy and company will be backed for another win and further returns.

Meanwhile, Burnley host Stoke City at Turf Moor with Tom Heaton the key asset on show, while West Brom make the trip to Vicarage Road with Gareth McAuley the big draw – he boasts six goals from corner kicks, with the Hornets conceding ten from set-plays, only Bournemouth have conceded more.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Who should be removed for Ibra?
    A) Lukaku
    B) Costa
    C) Neither

A- Because Lukaku has no DGW's coming up and Ibra is involved in 50% + of Utd's goals with a DGW and nearly half the ownership. Also Everton's surge up the table has been hit my the injury to Coleman and arnt quite the same team without him atm.

Sell Costa. I did the same two days ago myself. Costa has some really hard fixtures coming up, and Chelsea will most likely attempt to crawl over the finish line. Can be brought back easily on the GW36 WC if I'm wrong.

I got Zaha for Fletcher for a hit instead of selling Llorente.
Do you think it will pay off or I should have just replaced Llorente and had no bench headache?

With all the rotation going on, it is probably a good problem to have now. I complained about my 'benching headache' only to have Carroll come on for Llorente.

Honestly? I think you might have made a mistake, but it doesn't matter. I got Zaha in fwiw, but I also got Llorente out. This time of the season having a strong bench is really good, so you might be really grateful you have a choice between Zaha and Llorente.

If Zaha scores 6 then I break even this week but cost myself 1.2 but gain a DGW player. Why do you think it was a mistake? I wasn't a bit confused when thinking about it later when everyone was selling Llorente and I couldn't as no AoA.

Did you read my whole reply? I was not criticizing your move. I was saying that between moving Fletcher and Llorente, you might have picked the wrong one--time will tell. But I can't see how your situation is bad. Never suggested you were confused, just suggested that some people might have focused on Llorente. Nothing to see here (except me saying you are probably fine). 🙂

I said I confused myself when thinking about it later. It certainly isn't the normal move I would make. Llorente would have gone the other 99 out of 100 times. I made the transfer so early also so now have to see how the possible Llorente options do along with Zaha. Luckily I had a good start with Holebas and Heaton to limit any damage.

I think it was probably time to move on from Llorente, and it might still be: right now your team looks primed for 3-5-2. You clearly want Zaha for the DGW so I say get rid of Llorente and the benching headache. He might still be injured anyway.

Why are people so keen on Liverpool? Haven't they learnt that Liverpool do well v good teams and badly v bad teams? With Mané out as well compounding things?

Their colours on the ticker should be invested for fixture difficulty.

What most of us have learned is that you cannot predict what will happen. Cout just did well; he might do well again, and he might not. A lot of the punters are just bringing in whoever scored recently, but some of us just think Liverpool are a good bet for points. We are all taking chances, and you are just pointing out that there is a risk with 'Pool. Yeah.

Good value players if they perform well. I know you say they do well against good teams, but that's not a constant fixed effect. They have the capability to score against lesser teams, and some, like me, are willing to take the risk. It's not like people just belieeeve in liverpool, the prices are aoverpriced factor, as well as doubt in other players (like sanchez and ibra

Deeney is going somewhat under the radar on here, I'm glad I held onto him now and an easy swap out for Gabbi in the future if needs be.

Thanks guys, and Champ, you're right I should look at it afresh, but I am inclined to go Vardy to Ibra unless something else makes itself obvious.

I had planned a -4 this week for Haz and King out
    For Sane and Cout

Just noticed both about to rise.
Also Haz has a nice fixture bou
Jump or stick and wait for them to play this week?

This week would have been the one to have Cout anyway. Sane is the one you need for 32, so check your team and see if anyone else (definitely not Hazard) can go for Sane--so you have Siggy?

Thanks I agree. Will try to figure a way to get just Sane. Haz not so good way from home. Its still a nice fixture.

I needed a makeweight for Lukaku to Ibra and I thought Watford would be good for a CS and have a dgw coming up, so I picked...Britos.

Bad pick or bad luck? I know very little about any differences between him and Cathcart.

No, that was just bad luck. You got screwed by fate, end of. I considered Britos on several occasions messing around with transfers, and just did not because I wanted other players more.

Cheers, had a nice rotation planned between him, Yoshida, Boro for the next five weeks, now I have a gap for gw33.

I don't think so. I know they have had a few good defensive results recently but I just don't see many more of them. Having Chelsea waiting for them when their DGW comes around doesn't fill me with hope either.

Middlesborough seems a better bet in 34 with 2 decent fixtures

Yeah, will have to re-evaluate for gw33 anyways, will already have a Boro defender. Might shift Britos to Kone.

Second RC so two match ban.

Is it worth keeping Mahrez (don't have Vardy) out of hope he can take advantage of Everton's severely weakened defence?

    --------------Caballero-------------
    --Alonso Valencia Davies--
    Sanchez Alli Eriksen Siggy
    ----Lukaku Vardy Negredo--
    ----------------------------------------------
    DDG JWP Mustafi Yoshida

    2 FT's, 2.1m ITB.

    A) Vardy > Ibra
    B) Lukaku > Ibra
    C) JWP > Zaha
    D) Negredo > Benteke
    E) Something else

    A) Was always the plan after wildcarding last week, now I'm not sure but with no wildcard left i can't really lose any future doublers.

Negredo has BUR then a double soon, Vardy has form. Siggy and Lukaku the only non- dgw'ers have good fixtures. Stuck.

No wild card here as well, I shipped Lukaku Baines Siggy this morning -- the time is right to stockpile doublers, imo.

Yeah you're probably right. Bit worried about Negredo though. He might become a burden

True, he is tough to figure out. But I think he is worth saving over using a FT on Benteke.

A - I think it's a good time to cash in on Vardy, with 4 away games and CL coming up.

Negredo taking up a striker spot is the main issue here imo. He looks terrible alongside the rest of the Boro team. Not sure about Tekkers with those fixtures though. Considered Origi?

      1. Jay_
        9 years, 3 months ago

Kinda wish i did Negredo to Origi last night, could have just saved a FT this week then. I've played JWP over Negredo so if Origi outscores JWP by 4 I'll be gutted

I think Negredo was a mistake to be honest, but you might as well keep for DGW34. Stick with A after Vardy has hopefully risen.

Currently have Grant and Jakup as GKs, and looking to get Valdes in for the DGWs.

    A) Sell Jakup, since Grant rotates better with Valdes (until WC in GW36)
    B) Sell Grant, since Butland could displace him soon

Overall, those were good results considering I had only Luka and Brunt. Dropped in rank by 8kish positions... 😮

Disappointing performance from Brunt but he finally outscored McAuley, wohoooo...

Should I get rid of Llorente or King? Thinking Davies/Albrighton for King but who if I get rid of Llorente?

Why don't you get a Barnes priced 3rd forward which will enable other improvements?
One way or another, our 3rd forwards are always gambles so we usually can't rely on them

Depends what formation you plan to play. I'd get rid of Llorente first between the two, but both need to go for DGWers in due course.

    Walkers - Bailly - Alonso
    Alli - Sigurdsson - Zaha - King - Mahrez
    Lukaku - Costa

    Mannone, Llorente, Robertson, Brunt

Suggestions on how to bring in Ibra?
