Our last poll was dominated by two players, Sergio Aguero and Dele Alli, who garnered more than half of all votes.

This latest run-down is set to be another close call, with two Golden Boot-chasing strikers looking like stand-out captaincy picks for their favourable home encounters in Gameweek 33.

Romelu Lukaku’s (10.4) sensational form in front of his own fans carried on at the weekend, with his brace against Leicester City meaning he has scored 12 goals in his last seven Goodison Park encounters and 23 in total this season – more than any other player.

Next up is a visit from a Burnley side that has conceded 30 times and kept just three clean sheets in their 16 league road trips, which should ensure the 45.4% owned Belgian is among this week’s frontrunners.

Prior to a three-match injury lay-off, Harry Kane (11.3) was also on a hot streak, finding the net six times between Gameweeks 24 and 27 to bring his season total to 19.

With a promising 30-minute run-out under his belt in Tottenham’s 4-0 rout of Watford on Saturday, he looks primed for interest for the visit of an obliging Bournemouth defence to White Hart Lane this weekend – the Cherries have shipped 14 goals and kept just one clean sheet in their last six away matches.

Already more than 36,000 FPL managers have brought in the England striker and his 9.6% ownership is set to rise further before the next deadline.

But while Kane looks likely to be the main attraction among Mauricco Pochetinno’s troops, Spurs’ midfield trio of Dele Alli (9.1), Christian Eriksen (8.8) and Son Heung-min (8.4) are others likely to feature prominently.

Against Watford, Son was outstanding, with a 19-point haul from two goals, an assist and maximum bonus returns. Should he be retained in the starting XI to support Kane as expected, the South Korean looks a strong bet to add to his 11 goals for the campaign. Since Saturday he is the most bought asset, with more than 53,000 new FPL managers.

Alli also got on the scoresheet, bagging his 16th goal of the season against the Hornets, while his Danish team-mate also demands attention with five goals and nine assists in front of his own fans.

Sergio Aguero (12.8), who pipped Alli to the summit of Gameweek 32’s poll by just 2% of the vote, also looks an enticing armband option ahead of Manchester City’s trip to Southampton. The Argentine’s strike against Hull City on Saturday was his fifth in six starts. The Saints, however, have proved resilient at home in recent weeks, with two clean sheets in their last four St Mary’s encounters.

In addition, the City marksman has not been an explosive option of late, with his last double-digit FPL points haul coming in Gameweek 13.

Liverpool’s fatigued Brazilian duo, Philippe Coutinho (8.4) and Roberto Firmino (8.6), were preserved away at Stoke City, but with a goal apiece from the bench, they are among other strong candidates in our poll’s chasing pack.

They take on a West Brom side incapable of keeping a clean sheet at The Hawthorns of late, with their last shut-out on home turf arriving against Stoke in Gameweek 24.

A trip to Middlesbrough would have ensured Alexis Sanchez (11.6) competed for the summit – if it had taken place earlier this season when he was fielded as a central striker. But being stranded on Arsenal’s left wing over his last four matches has curtailed his threat markedly and he’s scored just once across that period. Potential backers will be keeping a close eye on the 26.8%-owned Chilean’s performance at Crystal Palace tonight to see if he can revive his output.

Theo Walcott (7.4) and Mesut Ozil (9.4) are two more Gunners’ assets that will be closely monitored at Selhurst Park after impressing in recent matches. The German playmaker has registered a goal and assist in his last two, while Waclott has two strikes over the same period.

Both are also strong differential options, given they have an ownership base below 10%.

Interest in Chelsea duo Diego Costa (10.5) and Eden Hazard (10.3), as well as Manchester United’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic (11.4), is likely to be tempered when they face each other in a tricky clash at Old Trafford on Sunday.

This could see some voters instead decide to back a differential, with Troy Deeney (6.9) among the best options as he prepares to host a Swansea City side that has conceded 10 goals in their last six. The 7%-owned Hornets’ talisman has scored four in as many home starts and being reduced to a bench role against Spurs on Saturday should mean he’s well-rested for the Swans’ visit.

The Captain Poll is now live in the middle column on your homepage on desktop, or via the slide-in menu on mobile and tablet under Recent Comments.

We will be back to check in on progress in the poll later ahead of the Gameweek 33 deadline when we deliver our “Captain Sensible” article, offering an analysis of the results and the statistics behind the leading contenders.

To all FPL addicts, I would appreciate some advice on this quite unusual issue.

I want to concentrate on Gameweeks 33, 34 and 35 ONLY. To put it into perspective, being 130th in the world for April makes me want to go for that Manager of the Month award and I can hopefully get closer to it with your help!

I have my Bench Boost chip left. Currently with 1FT and 0.3m ITB.

    Valdes Guzan
    Valencia Bailly Davies Brunt Yoshida
    Alli Son Coutinho Sterling Zaha
    Aguero Ibrahimović Lukaku

Planning on using my Bench Boost for GW34.

Q1. Guzan -> Hennessey before GW34 to have two playing GKs when using my BB in GW34: YES or NO?

    Q2. Keep Aguero and Sterling?
Everyone in front of me has Son, Alli, Coutinho, Ibrahimović and Lukaku. Unsuprisingly, however, only a few own Kun and Sterling.
On one hand, I would have two great differentials in those two players who both seem in form.
On the other hand, City's fixtures aren't perfect (sot, MUN, mid), Jesus might be back soon, Aguero is super expensive. I could maybe replace Kun with Benteke (LEI, liv, tot, BUR) and possibly get Sanchez in Sterling's place (much more favourable fixtures in GWs 33 and 34 for the Chilean). Thoughts?

    Q3: Any other suggestions?

I would really appreciate your help! Thank you in advance. 🙂

      Tough one

Josh King is great at his price, doesn't have a DGW but is out-performing Sterling.

If DGW are important Tadic has two coming up.

Either would allow you to re-distribute funds elsewhere, if it was King you could even get De Gea in for the 34DGW. He should be back at the weekend and Romero has been playing in the Europa.

Ok so this is what I would do. Q1. Yes I'd do it.
Q2. I'd drop Kun and hold Sterling. I also think NOT having Sanchez could be a great differential.
      Q. I like your team though gimme Eriksen over Son if no Kane in team.

    http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/heung-min-son-on-his-goals-against-watford-080417/

He was then substituted and met by Mauricio on the touchline. “He just said ‘keep it for the next game’ because I had two great chances after scoring two goals and when I talk about it I’m still sad,” said Sonny, with a wry smile. “I just want to score a hat-trick in the Premier League. Maybe it will happen next week, I just have to be ready.

    http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/first-team/match/player-reaction/eric-dier-dele-alli-kieran-trippier-react-to-spurs-v-watford-090417/

Alli: “He’s in great form and when you’ve got a player like that in form, it gives the whole team a boost. It drives us all on. He’ll get a bit of stick about not getting his hat-trick but he scored two fantastic goals so I’m sure he won’t mind too much!”

Make of it what you will. Managers can say anything and praise the player but bench him in the next game. I can't see it happening this time, I'm confident he'll start and obviously we'll have more informations on Thursday/Friday after the press conference. If you have Son, just keep him and don't overthink. Of course that's just my opinion.

I own Alli, Son and Davies.

Is it worth getting rid of one to get Kane in? Would require a hit as I only have 1FT.

I don't like the idea of parting with Alli or Son at the moment, and would I even be able to get someone nearly as good value for Davies?

Get rid of Davies, definitely going to ave to get rid anyway. If it's Lukaku you're getting rid of Kane for, I'd hold and captain him this week. It's definitely not worth a hit to get him out. If it's another striker you're getting out, ponder it

    Who to sell for Kane?

    A) Carroll (sun, EVE)
    B) Llorente (wat, STK)

I will start the striker this week but will bench him for King (MID) next week most likely.
Thinking keeping Llorente as I have lost 0.1 on him hopefully a brace this weekend can give me that 0.1 back.

Probably won't get much benefit from that move, especially for -4.

Hold till Thurs/Fri press conferences at least, have GW34 in mind and if Gabbiadini is back I'd be looking at:

      Llorente to Gabbiadini

      DGW34 coverage sorted.

is this Ibra's greatest ever season? (from an individual performance perspective)

I think its a fair question

28 goals, 8 assists in a' team in transition' and who lets be fair haven't hit the heights in any shape or form collectively speaking as opposed to one thats already dominant in their league, which Ibra has often played for throughout his career. I know he had some sensational seasons at PSG but its Ligue 1, in terms of difficulty and competitiveness Its not even close to the prem league

I have Ibra. I don't fancy any Palace or Boro players for the DGW. I was going to get Valencia but he seems a rotation risk..... who else is there to consider?

No one since you don't fancy any Palace or Boro players 😉

        Maybe Shaw......?

I can't see Zaha etc. doing it against Spurs, even at home. Boro are a mess at the moment.

I think Valencia was due a rest but he will see out the rest of the season..

Just looked though and Shaw is 0.8 cheaper than Valencia. What do you think? An assist in the last 2

    Morning all!
Really don't have a clue what to do. 2FTs and 1 mill in the bank.
What is the best way to use em?!

    A) Aguero and Llorente -> Kane and Benteke (depending on tonight)??
    B) get 2 DGWers?
    C) get Ibra?
    D) No clue (because that's where I am at)

    Team at the moment:
    Grant Pickford
    Alonso Baines Brunt Chambers Amat
    Sanchez Alli Eriksen Siggy Fletcher
    Aguero Lukaku Llorente

    Hi all.
Four horse race in my ML. All scoring well.
Did Vardy to Kane for free.
Would you make another move this wk for a -4?
    Grant
    Davies,Valencia,Alonso
    Alli,Siggy,Zaha,coutinho
    Ibra,Kane,lukaku( c)

    Tadic,Mawson,Amat.

Should I trade someone for a dgw player?? I.e a defender??

    BB,WC,TC intact.

          Yes.

It's crazy really. Even taking into account playing one more game than Alli and two more than Hazard, he still beats them Points per game.

          King 7.7
          Hazard 7.2
          Alli 6.7

Not really, he's as much a striker as Haz or Alli.

Most of those games he played behind striker Afobe.

He was played central forward a few times, but not enough to reclassify.
