Our two Premier League cup competitions have reached the last 32 stage – time to take a look at the some of the key Round Five encounters.

Our open-to-all cup’s only former winner, Mark, marches on, after seeing off What Divock?! to set up an encounter with 22,229th-ranked hishamkmr. With a 468 rank, Mark looks the favourite to proceed into the sixth round.

Another manager to draw the short straw and face a top 500 manager is the 21,317-placed Not Much Klopp, who takes on 339-ranked NUFC Fifer -the contest’s highest remaining manager.

Among the other eye-catching ties is the contest between Bake Baines on toast and My Pretty Pony (aka Peter Kouewenberg), who along with Mark is another representative of our live Hall of Fame Top Ten.

Peter’s 817 rank puts him in the driving seat for this encounter, given his opponent is 89,964 places below him.

The full Fifth Round draw can be found here.

At 88th in the world Pukka is the highest-placed remaining competitor in the Members Cup and takes on the 57,394th-ranked rogerbarton in the last 32.

Hana, who is 106 in the world, defeated Fenghh, the conqueror of former winner Trigg in Round Two, and next takes on Choppers13, who is another highly-placed manager, with a rank of 1,242.

Elsewhere, Round Four’s community writers derby saw Kryten emerge victorious over TopMarx. His reward is a match-up with Tramp, who at 70,119 is 53,496 places behind him.

De Ennet, who is 15,780 in the rankings, beat RoysCallerAnne and takes on another community regular in the next round, the 56,691-placed Rossendale Rover.

The full Fifth Round draw can be found here.

There is £350 in Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk vouchers up for grabs for the final top three managers in both tournaments.

Good luck to all those involved and if you would like more information on the schedule and prizes, click this link.

    Is Brunt --> Stones
worth for Crouch --> Negredo and a hit.
Trying to prepare for dgw 37 too as I have already played the WC.

    Which best boost looks better

    GW34
    Hennesy liv, TOT
Son cpl/King MID/Siggy STO (have to bench 1
    Mawson STO
    PVA liv, TOT

    GW37
    Pickford swa, ARS
    Anichebe swa, ARS
    Mawson sun
    Gibbo SOU

Both of the above will cost me a -4 but a -8 for the GW37 setup could see a Spurs, City or Arsenal defender in for Gibbo

Thats a tough one. Nobody else to bench?

I'm a little worried about Lukaku's away form. Think he's only delivered 6 points or more in a 5/16 games.

  13. ChristoBisto

Was just thinking about Carroll > Negredo for a hit meaning I would have to bench Eriksen or Alli this weekend. Mark was the only one talking sense on the scoutcast. Eriksen would easily get an assist at least against Palace, so 6 points. That means over the 2 games Negredo needs to score 10 points to break even. So minimum a goal and max bonus in each game. Likely?

    1. mikess
      • 15 Years
      9 years, 3 months ago

      Goal in one I think

    2. ChristoBisto
      • 10 Years
      9 years, 3 months ago

Oops, I mean Negredo would need one goal and max bonus or 2 goals, no bonus. Still not sure! Anyone else got logic or just the dgwk fever?

    3. drughi
      • 16 Years
      9 years, 3 months ago

I could go barnes>negredo but would mean I'd have to bench one of sanchez, firmino, eriksen, siggy and zaha who all have good chance of a good score. Not worth it I think

      1. mikess
        • 15 Years
        9 years, 3 months ago

Exactly the same thinking as me. Zaha is a no brainer and Sanchez, Alli, Eriksen and King as could get double figures. I wouldn't like to bench any

      2. ChristoBisto
        • 10 Years
        9 years, 3 months ago

Exactly this is the dilemma. Mine would be one of Sanchez, King, Alli, Eriksen, Siggy, Kane, Lukaku and they could all do well. Already got Gibson and Bailly in place without hits. Reckon I'll heed the warnings of history and stick. Sticking is the new differential as Mark was saying. RESIST THE FEVER!!!

      3. ChristoBisto
        • 10 Years
        9 years, 3 months ago

Plus no one factors in to their logic that dgwk players get less rest time in their matches against sgwk'ers. Instant advantage to the players we are considering benching / selling.

    4. Karan_G14
      • 10 Years
      9 years, 3 months ago

I have the exact same dillema but I'm holding the transfer. I don't think it's worth a hit and then bench such quality players.

      Top two

    2. Lone Wolf FPL
      • 10 Years
      9 years, 3 months ago

Roon is tempting as he was not bad vs Arsenal. Not easy one but that DGW may be fools gold.
Most will say play A & B but benching one of them isn't stupid at all. Imagine one of those defenders get an assist and YC and thats basically the score of Roon playing both games. If he got CS than it's almost like one of your defenders got CS this week.

Looking for some advice. Chasing my ML leader by 23 pts which isn't much. I have BB and he has TC. Both have WC'd already. We share Lukaku, Benteke, Son & Alli.

Is it wise for example to drop Siggy and bring in Sané (he has Sané). I won't gain pts by this obviously but I won't lose any either.

His Team vs my team this week
    Grant vs DeGea
    Pieters vs PVA
    Valencia vs Gibbo
    Stones/Nyom/Sakho vs Alonso
    Coutinho vs Sanchez
Son vs King (if I bench Son)
    Sané vs Siggy
Kun vs Kane (although he could bring in Ibra and TC him)

Have anyone any suggestions on how best to win my ML? Thanks

Prefer Siggy over Sane this week for sure.

Save this transfer for next week when you have the lead and ten you can block him.

      1. Pep says
        • 10 Years
        9 years, 3 months ago

Ya hopefully Siggy score, that'll be a nice swing over his Pieters and Grant and DeGea and Gibbo can rein in the points.

Nyom, Valencia and Kun's minutes all doubtful at the moment so hoping his team is in a bit of a mess come next week.

If I was chasing I wouldn't be matching up with Sane. I'd understand if you cancelled a Sanchez or Kane out but forget about someone like Sane and get a reason punt in. Zaha /Townsend for example

        • 10 Years

Zaha Townsend would be for this week. I'm happy enough with my headache of choosing between King Son and Siggy so I'm gonna save my ft, thanks though

Well I'm thinking of going for Hazard in a 352 setup. Not convinced on Gabbi's minutes especially with Puel.

Benteke and Son to Anichebe and Hazard after gw35?

I know you're chasing and want some differentials, just remember the golden rule to cover your rivals best players and find differentials against their worst players!

as yoy have enough DGW players I would save, no doubt.

I think Negredo will outscore Ibra this week so Negredo for free. However, he isn't a long term pick whereas you can 'probably' keep Ibra for the season.

Having spunked my WC in a fit of pique while out shopping last week, I now have a somewehat unintended "who to bench from the front eight" problem. Nuts.

So - who to bench ?

    Son / Alli / Hazard / Zaha / Firmino
    Kane / Lukaku / Benteke

So I've decided to ditch Tadic even though I have no WC left.
    This week. Grant,Tadic > DeGea,Townsend -4 giving me 6 DGWers.

    Next - T.Carroll,Lukaku > Sane,Gabiadini-4

    Yes or no?

Utd and Palace fresh for the run-in, but have Gylfi and Eriksen run out of steam?

Anyone like me chasing an unlikely league deficit and looking at one last throw of the dice to hopefully end the season well? I'm thinking about ditching the high ownership player ls for a team of differentials for the doubles (after this game week).

Anyone care to suggest any decent differentials worth considering?
