The extended Gameweek 34 continues with a big night that delivers three hugely anticipated matches.

There could barely be more Fantasy interest across the trio of encounters, with a scattering of key assets in action.

Firstly, Middlesbrough’s Alvaro Negredo, signed by 201,000 and backed by an improbable 155,000 (3.5%), will bid to improve on a dismal 2-point return from his first fixture when he faces Sunderland at the Riverside Stadium. A crunch encounter for both teams, there will also be keen interest in the Boro defence with Ben Gibson signed by 118,000+ ahead of Saturday’s deadline.

Crystal Palace’s Christian Benteke was undoubtedly the weekend’s star performer with a brace at Anfield to provide his 506,000+ ownership with a 12-point return. Backed by 96,000 (2.1%) with the armband, he will look to build on that return in tonight’s encounter with Spurs.

But the title-challenging visitors will boast their own cast of key figures, with Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen supported by an army of Fantasy owners. Kane is himself backed by 244,000 with the GW34 captaincy.

Finally, at the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal will host Leicester City as they bid to revive their top four ambitions having navigated to the FA Cup Final at the weekend.

The big news from north London is that Alexis Sanchez may just be restored to the central striker role, with both Danny Welbeck and Olivier Giroud benched – Theo Walcott comes in and could also be a contender for that position if Wenger retains the 3-4-2-1 system.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I wish he didn't have dgws, I'm not captaining Sanchez in either one of his dgws on current form with Kane's explosiveness and I'd have Hazard in for him in a heartbeat if it was for his annoying dgws.

Hit the woodwork, had assists denied. His FPL form is terrible but general football performances good so they can align at any moment and boom back in the points.

Depends who you benched him for tbh, any midfield/attacker who has at least some goal threat & has Sunderland + Bournemouth in a dgw surely shouldn't be benched unless it's for the likes of Eriksen, Alli, Hazard or Sanchez

My Spanish team is doing way better than my regular one:

    https://fantasy.premierleague.com/a/team/4430873/event/34

(a few GWs ago I started a 'World Cup' mini-league made up of teams exclusively of one nationality each)

    1. Dr Dream
      • 13 Years
      8 years, 11 months ago

Very good that. I played a proper full season with every Belgian in the prem in my team a few years ago plus five others. I never took any out even when injured. It did really well.

I don't mind second teams as long as they're novelty teams like your team that start deep into the season for a bit of fun. It's not quite the same as folk who just have two teams....or more.

      1. Pierce34
        • 10 Years
        8 years, 11 months ago

Yeah agreed about second teams. And yes good points about the Belgians - if you check out the mini-league Belgium is running away with it. Although I could've done a better job picking English players.

Okay just a thought. Sanchez TC seems like an awful waste for GW36. I've played my wildcard this week and my bench is decent but I'm sure like others it's not the best. Why would I want to bench boost when people are going to have a very similar bench so little point gain. How about with your wildcard you'd want Southampton and Arsenal players so bench boost on 36 with those really hitting the people who haven't wildcarded and then smash the TC chip on a big player for 37! There's players such as Hazard, Costa, Kane, even Sanchez in 37 looks a little better! Am I underestimating the Bench Boost chip or?

    1. Deulofail
      • 10 Years
      8 years, 11 months ago

Why not just play saints and arsenal rather than BB them?

    2. Pierce34
      • 10 Years
      8 years, 11 months ago

You're underestimating the security of points the BB chip offers. Even if the players just turn up, that's a guaranteed 16 points if they're all DGWers. Obviously there will be the inevitable unpredictable rotation, but with a couple of clean sheets here, an assist there - and you've got about 20 points.

With the TC chip you'll be very, very lucky to get an extra 20 points off it. TCing Benteke this week for example (which would've been a relative success) would've only been an extra 14 points compared to people who only captained him.

Yes but my 36 bench is looking really good. I'm obviously going to play my Saints and Arsenal players so here's the bench:

Pickford and Anichebe Hull (A), Holgate Swansea (A) and Huth or stones who have Watford and Middleborough.

I'm not going to get anything I don't think TC Sanchez on 36 in all honesty... but I'll probs get more by TC 37 and BB 36. Could be wrong I do see your point though.

    How did Zaha look tonight?

I'm switching him out for Hazard for GW36 but not sure wether to do it a week early and do it this week?

    Zaha (BUR)
    Hazard (eve)

Just thinking its not a great fixture for Haz and he's not always great on the road. But he's still a great player and maybe can get something at Goodison.
