An largely uninspired encounter, marked by a moment of brilliance from Emre Can. Liverpool’s 1-0 victory was priceless, from a Fantasy perspective, it was notable only for Philippe Coutinho’s early exit. Here’s the Stock Check from the final match of Gameweek 35.

In Decline

Philippe Coutinho
The Brazilian went into Monday’s clash as part of just over a million FPL squads, having been acquired by more than 50,000 new Fantasy Premier League owners ahead of Liverpool’s Vicarage Road visit.

In addition, Coutinho claimed the armband for 122,000 managers who had big expectations having seen the midfielder score in four of his last five Gameweek starts.

But his night lasted less than ten minutes before he suffered a dead leg in a clash with Watford’s Adrian Mariappa; a collision which ultimately led to Coutinho succumbing to the injury on 12 minutes.

His departure saw the re-introduction of Adam Lallana following a five Gameweek absence, but that will have been little consolation for Coutinho’s owners.

Jurgen Klopp confirmed post-match that the injury should not represent a major setback…

“He has a dead leg, hopefully it’s not too serious but of course it’s really painful and no chance [he could continue]. Everybody could see he tried hard, but no chance.”

While he will be expected to be back in contention for the visit of Southampton in Gameweek 36, Coutinho’s single point return at Watford, coupled with any minor doubt of his participation against the Saints, will undoubtedly accelerate sales.

He is already hovering outside the top five for transfers out, with 22,000+ jettisoning Coutinho so far, with traffic moving to both Alexis Sanchez and Eden Hazard in particular.

Roberto Firmino is not far behind his team-mate and compatriot. He went into the Watford encounter having returned in each of his last five Gameweeks, producing two goals and three assists.

Despite that form, his Monday night blank will exacerbate recent sales, with Firmino already ranked fourth behind Coutinho, Son Heung-min and Wilfried Zaha among FPL midfielders.

Quite simply, with Wildcards active, double Gameweek assets are dominant and despite Liverpool’s obliging run-in, both Coutinho and Firmino look set to become unlikely differentials for those without the option of an end of season refresh.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

What to do with this team then
    Jaku,Pickford
    Stephens bailly walker holgate gibson
    coutinho alli sanchez king zaha
    lukaku carroll kane
    0.5 itb 1FT
First move should be Lukaku to Jesus on ft,what should be the other move for a hit, maybe Gibson to someone?

    1) Bailly owners, are we waiting on news? Good option if fit for gw37?

    2) 3 best players to get in now? Hazard, Jesus, Ars/Southampton def ?etc.

    3) Nailed yes or no?
    Stephens
    Yoshida
    Kompany
    Monreal

    3) If I have a good keeper rotation 'til end of season but with no DGW players, would you take a hit to get Cech in?

not sure whether to hold lukaku and firmino. hazard is enticing

    jakupovic

    Callabero Lukaku* holgate chambers

    0.4 itb 1ft

The Independent headline after the match suggested he might not be back this season.

I've got dozens of WC drafts with him in... and with him out.

Davies is *not* nailed with Rose nearly back.

Could create a little more cash by shifting Albrighton to Capoue.

Gabriel is far from nailed for 37 when Kosc and Mustafi should be back.

Love the Carroll call for 5th mid.

Would prefer DGW players in place of Daniels and Friend and maybe Heaton (but I kind of like the idea of keeping Heaton)

      Sane or Alonso for me.

I'm far from sure about going without Chelsea cover *but* on a limited budget (while others have huge ones) at this point in the season, placing a binary bet to beat the pack is possible while competing with having every big hitter those with the big budgets have is not.

              That's why I suggest Alonso/Sane...

              Alternatively...
If Coutinho's injury is longer term... could you do Coutinho and Zaha to Hazard and Albrighton or Hazard and Capoue... or Hazard and Carroll (Swansea)

Morrison at WBA is 4.3 and has a DGW but Carroll has better fixtures (albeit no DGW)... a bit meh either way.

But that kind of makes it...
                  Alonso and Sane
                  vs

        Possibly.

Pedro doesn't exactly "cover" for Hazard/Costa... might be better to place a bigger bet on Man City having a high scoring game during their 3 home match stand than trying to cover Chelsea attack with their distant 3rd wheel behind the big 2 up front.

    Kane Jesus

    Pickford Stephens Holgate Anichebe

      Rock solid!
I like the Schmeichel pick. Although, those DGW fixtures aren't the most enticing (mci, TOT) - the remaining single GWs are bang-on (WAT, BOU)

Save points and maybe a pen save?

Any goalie below 4.9 to go with Pickford works for me!

I was going to suggest Forster for the double-double. Price being the kicker - Schmeichel is a lock!
Cabellero, the only obvious alternate/popular choice

Is Sanchez really worth picking up? I know he's double game week but he hasnt done much. I have Pickford, Cedric, Betrand, Alonso, Townsend, Alli, Eriksen, King, Benteke, Kane and Lukaku. Thinking of getting rid of Lukaku and the two Palace player but not sure who to bring in.

i based on current form to dictate. its a no for me.
a better call will be if you can watch the match and decide if hes just strolling on the pitch waiting for the match and season to end. Sanchez is an emotional hamster

with a team for 36 and 37 im looking at
(did FT cout out for hazard)

    jaku
    bailly vert pva
    sane king hazard alli
    kaku kane gabbi

    pick holgate t.carrol ake

    1. should i take a hit and swap either gabbi or kaku > jesus or costa?
keeping in mind kaku has 2 good fixtures coming up and he always does well against lower ranked teams

    2. or wait till next week and do these for a -8
    kaku > jesus
pva > amat (and play holdgate) need this to fund gabbi to costa
    gabbi > costa

I don't have the nuts to go without him. Rival has TC and he might bang it on Sanchez. If he scores 20 in a DGW it'll be rough.

    3. Heels_Over_Head

that totally depends on the rest of the team

I'm doing B because it's a clear path of who to bench this week... and gives me injury transfer flexibility next... can always upgrade Anichebe for 37 for -4 or -8... and I don't see hits as a big deal to get your team right for Bench Boost
