Double Gameweek 36 gets up and running at the London Stadium this evening as West Ham United entertain title-chasing Tottenham Hotspur.

The visitors roll up knowing that a win would take them to just one point behind Chelsea at the summit, with attacking trio Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen playing a prominent role in many Wildcards selctions over the last few days.

All three have merited our attention.

Kane – who has already picked up 13 points against the Hammers in Gameweek 12 – has seven goals and three assists in his last five starts and is second only to Alexis Sanchez in our Gameweek 36 Captain Poll, with 11% backing.

Eriksen has delivered double-figures in each of his previous two road trips, while Alli’s run of eight returns in the last nine Gameweeks has taken him to nine points off the top of the FPL player standings.

Devoid of a Double Gameweek, Fantasy interest in West Ham’s assets is minimal at best – the main impact will be their ability to breach a defence that’s conceded just once in their previous six.

Slaven Bilic’s side will take some solace in their 3-2 loss at White Lane back in November, though – that was one of only five times that Spurs have conceded more than a single goal in the league this season.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

It's not the points returned that were woeful, it's the implications of rest and rotation from CHE assets in 37/38 and lack of motivation from TOT assets moving forward that was more frustrating.

I don't think anyone would be as angry if Spurs won 1-0 with a Wanyama goal and Trippier assist, because it would keep the title race on and thus FPL would have more options.

        This

"ripping" our team apart is far from that. Just preparing for potential rotation and assessing the motivation of each team.

For example, Utd will basically bin off the league if Liverpool/Arsenal win this weekend

That one game is likely to have significant ramifications for the lineups in GW37 and GW38. Not like it was Sunderland vs Watford.

Spurs are finished. City will have something to play for and Lukaku will want to wrap up the golden boot at home.

Looking at previous teams who've had an FA cup final they have still played strong teams in gw38. Arsenal played Sanchez & Ozil for 90 minutes before their last FA cup final.

Man U put out pretty much full strength last year too.

Chelsea's gw38 is a home game. They'll still play a strong side as it'll be a celebration before lifting the trophy. Managers never put out reserve squads in those situations. All that'll happen is guys like Hazard are subbed off around 60-70 minutes probably.

far too much emphasis is put on motivation by us fpl managers. So Chelsea and Spurs probably have one less game to try in but what you think they gonna do? All the main players will wanna play and they can now play with no pressure no handbrake. They have a duty to the integrity of the league and more importantly to their fans to put on a performance, i wouldnt worry bout it

    1. Lallana_

They'll definitely show up. Players like Alli, Kane and Eriksen like to play for stats too

I just think they'll play with less urgency and there is a possibility for Poch to play some squad players

    2. diesel001
      • 9 Years

They don't have a duty to the integrity of the league. Look at Huddersfield against Birmingham. They have a duty to their club and making sure Kane / Alli / Eriksen etc. do not get injured is pretty important.
