Gameweek 36 finally comes to an end this evening as Southampton entertain Arsenal at St Mary’s.

Alexis Sanchez will again be the focus of most managers’ attentions. Sitting in over 27% of FPL squads, the Chilean was the most captained player (11.2%) in the round of fixtures but a blank at home to Man United in his first match of Double Gameweek 36 means he has now netted just once in seven league appearances.

Meanwhile, his team-mate Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain looks to add to a pair of assists in the 2-0 weekend win over Jose Mourinho’s side. The Gunners’ wing-back has been drafted in by over 15,000 FPL managers this week for a Double Gameweek 37 against Stoke and Sunderland.

For the Saints, Manolo Gabbiadini was the fourth most transferred in player ahead of last week’s deadline, with over 108,000 taking the plunge.

Yet a blank against Liverpool took his run to one assist in five, as Claude Puel’s defence racked up the points at Anfield instead thanks to a fourth clean sheet in seven.

Thanks to his spot-kick stop away to Liverpool, the Saints’ Fraser Forster leads the way among the Double Gameweek contingent on 16 points ahead of tonight’s 7.45pm encounter.

Triple City attack. KDB, Sane, Jesus. Really need City to keep up their form they showed against Palace.

I'm snapping at my rivals heels now, I've made up a 40 point gap (was 100+) this week to just 8.
He has Sane and Jesus, I have neither but have Sanchez and Kane - he has neither.
I'm thinking of Silva and Holding for -4, (Cout and Ake out) I feel like I need City cover and Silva although is a bit outside the box could be my secret weapon. I'm playing BB next week with potentially 12 DGWers compared to his 8, he's already played it BB.

    Thoughts on that transfer?

    1. true_Jerry
      • 9 Years

if you are 8 points behind youre BB should be more than enough to catch him

      1. buzzkill

I know I'm in a great position with my BB ready to go, but I'm scared of the damage Jesus and Sane could do to me. I know he'll (c) Jesus because he loves him.
Do I buy one of those to neutralise his points or go for a Silva or Sterling for the differential?

For 8 points it seems you have enough differentials. I'd get Sane rather than Silva.

If Koscielny's fit this weekend, this is how I see Arsenal lining up now until the end of the season.
Right wing back Bellerin (Ox picked up hamstring injury) rcb - Koscielny (replaces Holding as more experienced and captain) cb - Mustafi (Impressed tonight should keep spot) lcb - Monreal (left footer for balance and better defender than attacker) left wing back - Gibbs (Can attack better than defend suits role well)

I've 11 of that 15 and also playing bench boost.
All tough calls and not sure you'd get the returns in defence. At a big push I'd say yhe last option D.

I'd probably favour moves for gabbi out along with midfielder
Could you go hazard gabbi out for sane/cesc and maybe giroud/wellbeck. Slighty off centre but arsenal need to win everything.
Or maybe hazard +alli/eriksen out and 2 of kdb/sane/cesc in (aware you already have 2 city). Spare funds could upgrade the sale of gabbi to someone decent if you went sane and cesc who I think will play both games esp with maybe slight niggle last week and title all but won and Fa cup final. If chelsea win friday and united dont qualify tomorrow night spurs might not have stomach for a tough team to break down esp if second already all but secured. United might have to get results and get 4th for champions league. So spurs attack might not get anything against a possibly stubborn United team.

Bench boosting this week and undecided on capt or transfers (if any)

    Thinking two options -
    1. Alli + eriksen > kdb + cesc (-4)
    2. Hazard > kdb

    Willy pickford
    yoshida Stephens holgate Bailey kompany
    Sanchez hazard alli Eriksen king
    kane lukaku gabbi

United result Thursday night could have effect of Bailey and spurs midfield retention.

So DGW goalkeepers and defenders seem to do well. What differential do you think will do well in the backline?

I think Kone. And I've backed it up by bringing him in for a -4 for Valencia.
